The 'daft footballers who can't talk properly' thread
The College Dropout replied to brummie's topic in Football
Marcel Desailly says that in every sentence. Who is the prat who calls our no. 9 "Martines"? -
Jol on the brink? Breaking news:Ramos snubs huge Spurs offer.
The College Dropout replied to Parky's topic in Football
Fuk that. I hope he stays and fuks them off like Souness did to us. Stay until i'm sacked, and take every penny i am owed with me, and in the meantime i'll let the players do what they want and pick the team out of a hat. A|ye that would be class. Spurs have treated him worse than we did with Sir Bob. -

Hmmm ... not so sure about that. Of all the premiership managers, I think I would least like them to get Harry Redknapp. Very underated manager I think, also has an eye for a decent player. What's he done at West Ham or Portsmouth that Souness didn't do at Blackburn? Not fall out with alot of his players. Play attractive football. Harry's a far better manager than fucking Souness. -
Have we actually got the wrong strikers for the 433?
The College Dropout replied to Parky's topic in Football
Everyone seems to agree that this is an excellent post. I expected Sam to bring in some of his Bolton philosophies and adapt them to us, for example making us a taller side, set-pieces and all the back room stuff. However he's simply trying to make us Bolton and I'm dissapointed. I don't think ANY of our top strikers can adapt very well to a 4-3-3. Viduka's a big lad but he's best with the ball at his feet. Owen can go 90 mins. simply running off-the-ball trying to find space and Oba's only really useful in the final 1/3rd. At home a feel the fans will get on Sam's back if it's 0-0 and half an hour gone whilst playing the long football. -
"Fergie Eyes Up Martins" writes Custis in The Sun
The College Dropout replied to NSG's topic in Football
I agree with what an earlier poster said. We'll look mightily slow if Martins leaves. Play a ahigh line against us and we'd be ruined. Owen+Duff are crocked. -
Ah the red mist, seems like a family thing for his lot, two more of his cousins have just been arrested for murder, they stabbed some 18year old lad to death, so thats his brother and three cousins all been done for murder. Wow.

The new Scott Parker Possibly Bang on. Every last word. There's nothing that annoys me more than a player being labeled "not good enough" after only his second game for the club. It's even more annoying when his performance is no better or worse than most of the other players on the pitch. How are players supposed to succeed when they're being written off before they've had a chance to prove themselves? We've been linked with Smith for several years. We know what he has to offer, he isn't Enrique. It's not the point. As soon as he signs for us, he should be given a chance to prove himself for us. In amoungst our players. His performances for Man Utd and Leeds are absolutely irrlevant to how he will perform up here, and if that's what people are judging him on he really doesn't stand a chance. If we sign Heskey i'll moan the second he misses a sitter, why should I wait when I know full well his level of performance. If we signed Ronladinho i'd expect him to become our best and most influential player within 9 months because that's what I'v come to expect after watching him week-in-week-out for a nmumber of years. I've watched Smith for 6 or so years. I know his game. In midfield he is very similar to Parker. I knew this last year and i'll know it this time next year. Since the last two years of Leeds Premiership status i've been watching him carefully as we've often been linked. I think he could do well for us but I know his limitations. Butt-Geremi-Smith isn't going to work. Butt-Geremi-Smith will grind out a shed load of clean sheets if that's what Sam wants, and I think that's what he wanted against Villa. Too many people seem to be confusing individual performances with Sam's team tactics. We have plenty of options across the middle of the park when everyone is fit, and I'm convinced that Sam will get the best out of our above average Premiership squad in the weeks and months ahead. This short termism does my box in, we've had a decent start to a long season. Keep the faith!!! That has to be one of the most defensive midfields in the league. Most teams will play like Villa and will require breaking down to beat. All the teams around us have more pace, movement and guile through the midfield. Sam didn't have much choice on Saturday but I hope we sign some more forward minded midfielders. There seems to be no link from midfield to attack. I don't know if he can cut it but when is Emre meant to return?

The way I see it (4-3-3 at home, with wor players)
The College Dropout replied to a topic in Football
Smith, Butt & Emre ahead of Geremi? Unlikely. -
Yeah that's basically complete and utter bollocks. It isn't. If he's stuck in midfield he'll play like Parker and eventually gain the same level of stick. I think away from home Sam will be looking to play upfront and be our Davies whilst at home use the technically superior and work ethic inferior Viduka.
-
For Sam's sake (and ours)I hope we whoop someone quickly at home If we go 4 or so games (at home) without convincingly beating a side thye half an hour 0-0 groans will start.
-
Really surprised by SGE thought he'd start poorly.
-
No chane on £5m. More like £15m. No way in hell Hughes will sell like. I would of said 10m and why would Hughes? It was more in reference to another thread. Look at his first choice attacking players, McCartney, Santa Cruz, Pederson and Bentley - I'd have them at toon if we could. I rate Derbyshire as a great youngster (alright he's 21). Scored some very impressive goals. Bentley.
-
We do seem to lack creative players in midfield bar Milner. Whether a midfielder or a winger for the 4-3-3 I think that's what we lack as a squad (as many people have ben saying)
-
lol true. I'll be dissapointed if we don't beat Wigan & Boro, both teams I reckon will struggle to stay up. btw can you mention the next fixtures in a paragraph like form?
-
Isit £8M for Nobby and Dyer? Not too bad.
-
said this in an article about a month or so ago. Big Sam is the man !! SAF likes Newcastle too, BTW he's always tended to pay us the compliment of putting out the strongest possible team against us. Aye. I remember when we where good they'd whoop us a few times. The infamous 6-2 and the 5-3 spring to mind. Even under Souness he'd put all the big guns out against us...which is sort of nice. Is it true that Scholes has scored more SJP goals in his career than Dyer?

Newcastle Blue Star 0 - 2 Newcastle United "Reserves"

I really hope someone comes in and buys Owen. -
Can't blame his reasonings. Don't think he'd do great here anyway.
-
Usually i'd like em to stay up because I know their s*** and they know their s***. But they've spent far to much money this summer for me liking and their getting a little to excited about all the mediocrity. Chopra = £5,000,000 Richardson = £5,000,000 Gordan = £9,000,000 The look on Quinn and Keane's face come May when they are relegated on the last day of the season by goal difference = PRICELESS
-
Why do so many people under estimate Arsenal? Henry wasn't playing for a large chunk of last season and if not for a dip of form towards the end of the season they could've finished 3rd... Spurs came very strong near the end. They still dominate 90% of matches and miss bucket loads of chances. They'll be in a CL come come next May.
