I rib him about the Naija players but Kaka is alright. although I’ll never forget Howe he switched from Eddie evangelist to a detractor overnight mind. Lad is capable of anything. If I met him IRL I’d still buy him a Guinness or any bevvy of his choice.
-
You’re so sensitive that you missed that I led with ‘in the little I’ve seen’. You love your Naija boys. nothing wrong with it.
-
Mate you just rate Nigerian lads. That’s it 😆 ive Rated Mbeumo, Wissa and Semenyo long before most. Rated Hall from the jump. Rated Amad Diallo after his loan spell. Even Elanga and Madueke are good footballers, just think we could do better for the money we would have to pay. For the price their current clubs bought them for - good to great buys. On Adeyemi - I’ve not seen much of him. What I have seen is a super quick player but ability on the ball leaves a bit to be desired. You like him though don’t you ?
-
Kaka obviously rates him. From the little I’ve seen he didn’t pass my baller test

Good point. Chelsea have been doing the short term deals. Some very dodgy sponsors in there too.

I’m not talking about a 1 off season. I’m talking about squads that qualify for Europe in multiple seasons consecutively. 3-4 seasons in a row.
-
To sustain a league finish in Europe and compete in the Europa league or CL to a good standard? I don’t think so no. It’s a thin squad low on quality.

£12-15m saved in wages. For 3 players that will need to be replaced with new signings. -
Like the way Brighton Brentford and Bournemouth do business. But I think you need to spend at a clip close to the big 6 to sustain a challenge. That means revenues close to the big 6. That’s why I spend so much time in the PSR thread. Everything else (and to a point - current league performance) is noise.
-
These are not clubs that compete in Europe. Show me clubs that compete in Europe from the PL that spend that amount.
-
What’s with the colour coding with user names?
-
I don’t think Howe will be happy losing squad players and not replacing them. What manager would?
-
£280m of that is on teenagers or close.
-
It will be close to £70m again. Declan Rice was sold for £100m with 1 year left on his contract iirc
-
Why would it be SBRs fault? It’s admin. same admin that didn’t register Lee bowyer in the uefa meaning his ban was effectively doubled.
-
If any club(s) in Europe it’s Juventus and Atletico. Weird transfers galore.
-
In other sports non coach management do a lot more talking and communicating. Football is bad for that.
-
Villa are losing legs in the league. They need something. this is par for Emery though. European success comes at the cost of league performance. They could go deep over there. A CL QF/SF + Any European football is a success imo.

Genuinely happy for him. for us - this is where proper squad development comes in. And manager and DOF need to be aligned. IMO Joelinton should’ve been sold and replaced by a younger model. Now it looks like Anderson could’ve been that person, that would’ve been ideal squad development. At the time we weren’t aligned. Mistakes were made. One criticism of Howe is that once a player has his trust - it’s very difficult for him to lose his place. If you don’t have his trust you need to be 8/10 minimum for several appearances and gain his trust. Doesn’t help with squad development. I still think Hall and Livra’s development Could’ve been more proactive for example. It’s only injuries that gave them significant minutes and proper runs in the team. While Trippier and Burn cooked up stinker after stinker. Longstaff is another that springs to mind. -
Willock. I’m sure the £120m Villa have received from Saudi means they are fine from a FFP perspective. These short term deals look like they want an injection to push them back into a good European position this season and a big run in the CL
-
Great news. Delighted for everyone. LETS BUY SOME FUCKING PLAYERS PLSSSSSS
-
If we win the league cup - the project has succeeded imo
-
Finishing 7th, not strengthening the squad and expecting European football is silly imo. Likewise the financial difference between CL and the others is ginormous. With a realistic chance of CL don’t you go for it? I dunno. I’m Raw agter a defeat.
