  1. £280m of that is on teenagers or close.
  2. It will be close to £70m again. Declan Rice was sold for £100m with 1 year left on his contract iirc
  3. Why would it be SBRs fault? It’s admin. same admin that didn’t register Lee bowyer in the uefa meaning his ban was effectively doubled.
  4. If any club(s) in Europe it’s Juventus and Atletico. Weird transfers galore.
  5. In other sports non coach management do a lot more talking and communicating. Football is bad for that.
  6. Villa are losing legs in the league. They need something. this is par for Emery though. European success comes at the cost of league performance. They could go deep over there. A CL QF/SF + Any European football is a success imo.
  7. Genuinely happy for him. for us - this is where proper squad development comes in. And manager and DOF need to be aligned. IMO Joelinton should’ve been sold and replaced by a younger model. Now it looks like Anderson could’ve been that person, that would’ve been ideal squad development. At the time we weren’t aligned. Mistakes were made. One criticism of Howe is that once a player has his trust - it’s very difficult for him to lose his place. If you don’t have his trust you need to be 8/10 minimum for several appearances and gain his trust. Doesn’t help with squad development. I still think Hall and Livra’s development Could’ve been more proactive for example. It’s only injuries that gave them significant minutes and proper runs in the team. While Trippier and Burn cooked up stinker after stinker. Longstaff is another that springs to mind.
  8. Willock. I’m sure the £120m Villa have received from Saudi means they are fine from a FFP perspective. These short term deals look like they want an injection to push them back into a good European position this season and a big run in the CL
  9. Great news. Delighted for everyone. LETS BUY SOME FUCKING PLAYERS PLSSSSSS
  10. If we win the league cup - the project has succeeded imo
  11. Finishing 7th, not strengthening the squad and expecting European football is silly imo. Likewise the financial difference between CL and the others is ginormous. With a realistic chance of CL don’t you go for it? I dunno. I’m Raw agter a defeat.
  12. At the time - I said. I didn’t think we would have to sell him 3 years down the line in order to fund a rebuild. We know more now and things have changed.
  13. The ends justify the means in football. If we finish just short of CL football, this inactivity will be criticised.
  14. IMO we have to go for it this season and be brave with revenue.
  15. Isak and Bruno are the heart of the team. The big marquee signings of the first 2 windows under the new ownership. Selling either work mark an entire new team and era. At the time we all thought they would be with us at the destination. Zabaleta types.
  16. Selling a purple would feel like the project has failed.
  17. He’s the only one I’m certain gets us ‘rebuild money’. He’s also the most important.
  18. While I agree with the first paragraph being the strategy we are following - I don’t get it. What’s the point of keeping the band together one more season and then not going for it? I’ve been more keen to see what we do off the pitch than on it. Because it doesn’t quite make sense to me. Me? I’d sign someone now - and sell Joelinton by June to Saudi to make it work. Or do some creative to get us revenue. If we follow the strategy I think we are. There’s only 1 player we could sell that would guarantee rebuild money. The others are less certain to get north of £80m. I don’t know how much headspace getting rid of the dead wood gets us and half of those will need replacing.
  19. I didn’t think we could qualify for CL without improvements. Now we are close… it’s worth rethinking the approach.
  20. Bored of moaning about the rules. We know the attitude of thr establishment. What are we going to do about it ?
  21. He’s always done this tbf. It’s frustrating but don’t expect it to change. That approach requires a lot of ‘team spirit’ to ride bad periods out. It leads to streaky results. When you can’t hold on for one game it impacts the next.
  22. This is what it is at this point. He doesn’t tend to make subs when in a good position but playing badly that aren’t semi-pre planned. That’s Eddie.
  23. Iraola looks the real deal. But we love Howe.
  24. I'm way off the pace atm. Likely using my AM chip. You know where I'm going.
