Aye. Very humble guy.
-
Aye. If you have 3 you can only register 23 players. 2, then it's 21 or 22 that you can register... sliding down.
-
I mean... he IS fairly slow. But so was John Terry. He moves his feet well and anticipates danger. Eventually someone will outpace him and score but that will be rare because of his reading of the game and footwork.
-
He's not quick at all, a little slow. But he's fine on the turn and quick of mind. BDB is narrow in so he's protected in wide places and excellent when in those positions anyway.
-
The last time we were in the CL running come January, we got 1 first-teamer for the push. With this lot, I would hope for 2. And then some young lads. We can't keep playing Jacob Murphy man.
-
Before I looked it up I would say 14th - 26th. They're 17th in the all-time PL rankings. That's absolutely their level.
-
According to everyone on here - we had an Owner in the worst tier. Sunderland's "natural level" is not 35th in the English football pyramid.
-
I think we are more similar to title-winning Leicester. Overwhelmed and thrashed a few teams. Defensively orgainsed. Some limited players. 100% commitment from the group. I don't think we're as intentionally cynical and rough as Atleti.
-
Sunderland didn't slide down the divisions because of a lack of funding. We'll see how they end up.
-
I meant bad tackles and rough play. Like Man Utd would kick the shit out of their rivals and get away with it largely. Bruno went too far there aye. That was more to break up play (he just did it recklessly) at the end of a match than a shithouse tactic from the start to rough up Chelsea. Man Utd and other teams used to try and kick the shit out of Arsenal for example.

Longstaff. Willock. Almiron. Are some of our best with the intensity and they won't be going. Apart from Trips & Schar - are any of our players set for a lot of game time? We'll lose momentum but should be pretty fresh. The WC itself is a massive thing in terms of motivation. I think all of the lads that have gone are very professional and winners. But they all had extra motivation to peform well. Because of injury, his form and the lack of form from others - Trips has gone from arguably having calls to lose his place (I know Southgate would never) in the squad - to being guaranteed to start. Wilson has played himself into the squad.
-
The worst type of it is kicking other players' all over and dangerous play. We don't do that. Fernandinho was the ultimate Shithouser imo. Got away with so many "tactical fouls".
-
Leicester have grown tremendously since the club was first bought though. They were in League 1 when the takeover happened - no? My point is their success has been compounded. This all comes back to us for me. When the ownership leaves - it will be with a legacy that will have us being more competitive than we were pre-takeover.

7 or 8 top teams? 2 European cups in the last 6 years. There’s City. Liverpool. Chelsea. Man United have been to 2 European finals in the last decade, might extend it to 4. The rest? Absolutely not. PSG have a world leading academy and are located in a country that produces probably the best players from Europe. With better ownership and less egos - they have the potential to become the Bayern Munich of France.
-
Liverpool commercial revenue is now close to Manchester United is it not? They are as financial powerful as most other European powerhouses - way beyond Arsenal who they were once behind in every way. Even Anfield’s capacity has been increased. As a club Liverpool are a much bigger club now than the ones FSG bought. And they are primed for more success. Manchester United have terrible Ownership but qualify for the CL more times than not. And have had the 4th best trophy haul in England since SAF retired. Behind Liverpool and 2 oil clubs.
-
I don’t agree or think that’s true. after 10 years of our ownership investing properly into the club and it’s infrastructure we wont go back to being ‘just another PL club’. Success compounds. Infrastructure is setup and it attracts people with more wealth.
-
They've gone too far to become "just" another French team by the end of the decade.
-
He’s a long way from needing to ‘rebuild his career’.
-
By the looks of it he’s barely played. He might as well return to the team he came from to get match experience.
-
Got good feet too. Helps in tight areas.
-
Aye. I do think in the first half a lack of quality from Joelinton and Longstaff was evident though in attack.
-
Most of the hardest runners are getting a break.
-
The stamina, aggression and athleticism of Joe, little Joe, Longstaff and Almiron really set the tempo of this team. You would say a couple of these are among the weakest players in the first team but they are so key to how we play. Anyone coming into replace them will need to get close to their work rate and stamina. The levels have been set.
-
Aye he sniffs danger out.
-
Our right side is beautiful. 1v1 Kieron is very ‘getatable’ but it rarely gets cashed in. He’s great at slowing his man down as the cavalry arrives to support. Then he gets up the pitch to do his damage. I t’s beautiful.
