  1. Best ever? No. But he's a tad under-rated and he's been getting better year-on-year. Good chance he gets to 200 PL goals if he sticks around for a couple more years. Might even do it by the end of next season. With these hat-tricks I think he has a decent chance of getting the player of the season award.
  2. Tielemans is better than anything they have in the middle imo. Could see them going for him in the summer. Its only one match to be fair. He was apparently awful at Monaco. Aye from today you can see he has talent technically, decent physically. Let’s see if he can put it all together consistently. I always thought Jermaine Jenas damn near had it all to be a top player. But he didn’t have the mentality. Played it too safe too much. Son game set and match.
  3. Agreed but those are massive differences. Time will tell if Tielemans is better than Drinkwater. But they’ve got themselves a good footballing side with technical players damn near everywhere.
  4. Looks a talent imo. His finishing has been woeful though. Ricardo to Vardy is a good relationship.
  5. Are pens that are saved ever not poor penalties? You can have a good taken pen right into the corner that's saved. That pen was almost closer to the center than corner. This is not true. If it’s into the side netting or just off the inside of the bar, it is nigh on impossible to save. Even with minimal pace. In fact a poor penalty is more likely to be scored (gk going the wrong way) than a good penalty is to be saved. That was a poor penalty. The type where if the goalie goes the right way, he should save it. He did well to parry it all the way out for a corner rather than back into play.
  6. I thought 36 would keep teams up. I think it might be 38-39 to guarantee it. In any case I reckon our GD keeps us up.
  7. Depends how many points Cardiff will get. Reckon they’ll get 34 or 35. Can see Fulham maybe going on a run too.
  8. What's happened to this lad? It may have been happening from the start. But the Cardiff game was as bad a performance you'll see from a player and he hasn't gotten much better since.
  9. Really bad technique as well. His body wasn't behind the shot. His legs should've been behind the ball incase it went through his hands. He's got these howlers in him. But generally he's been very good.
  10. They haven't. We've setup the same exact way. Largely defence vs attack.
  11. Brilliant tonight. 1v1 with Sane and Sterling numerous times and dealt with them well
  12. Was signed on a 3 year contract iirc. Gone by the end of next season.
  13. Good first touch. Good dribbler. Decent passing imo. But mentally he was terrible. Didn't know what to do, made the wrong decisions time and time again. I can see why an 18-year-old Obertan would be appealing. Good physique, fast, technically solid - you would expect the rest of the game to come to him over time but it didn't at all.
  14. I feel it's the "clear and obvious" part that should be the focus. The Kane offside wasn't clear and obvious. Whatever the linesman gave should've stuck.
  15. It's about his influence on other coaches and a distinct style of play more than anything. For example, I often heard Bielsa set the blueprint for Chile's style of play which eventually won them multiple Copa America's. The managers that actually won it for them followed his core principles although not to the extent that Bielsa practices them. And the football is exciting. And he comes across as "barmy". Sarri is a different kettle of fish altogether and not comparable to Bielsa.
  16. Technically Obertan was very solid
  17. A lot of former players don't seem to like Rafa much. Nearly all seem to respect him highly though. Except the Real lot.
  18. 40 something on NO league. Falling fairly consistently for the last 6 weeks. Time for the wildcard. Salah in.
  19. I was 7th or so some time back around GW 15, highest ever. Now on my way out of the top 50
  20. All my shit talk about Hazard and Kane. Capo and vice.
  21. My opinion of our players generally follows this: He's ace this lad. Hmmm he's actually pretty shit. Argue with you lots that this lad is shit and it's not the managers fault he's shit. Most people end up agreeing he's shit. I lower my expectations. Take them for their qualities, don't get upset by the weaknesses. I'm at the end of the Ayoze line. Works hard off the ball. Pleasantly surprised when he doesn't lose the ball under a bit of pressure. Think he's got some goals and assists in him. Think he's better further forward. Overall bang average player. Could easily do a Colback and be a middling Championship player.
  22. The PL is a high level of competition. But he's only at Wham for money and London is a nice city to be rich in. Wham are unlikely to win any trophies so he's literally just there for money and to compete in a good division. There's still a chance he could get another crack at the "big time" in Europe which might interest him ala Shaqiri but time isn't on his side. I couldn't begrudge him a move to China. £2m after taxes, i'd need to work again without substantial money to fund a large-scale business.
  23. For a proper midtable side, you would hope 2 players score 10+ each. Or at least close. Last season Leicester had Vardy on 20 goals, Mahrez about 10. This season Wham will likely have 2 players over 10+ goals. These are all players worth £30m+ though. Look at Watford. No big goalscorers but good players throughout the side.
