  1. Good move for the lad. I'm excited to see him under Poch.
  2. Aye it's a shame really. Rafa's more important but in 5 years time it might look a big mistake.
  3. Was actually expecting this to be a Butt like moment, honestly can't remember that. Not even a yellow. Aye. Pretty funny. I assume the Tunisians didn't even make a big fuss trying to get him sent off or booking. "Flykicked in the face but it was an honest attempt". That's a straight red now. Makes me wonder how many goals and achievements the likes of Maradona would rack up now. He must've been kicked up and down Italy week-in-week-out. Also puts into perspective some of the shite PFM's in the media come out with. These are people that were professionals in the game when stuff like this wasn't even a yellow. Then you're asked to make comments about Mesut fucking Ozil.
  4. I haven’t seen a full England game since Iceland tbh.
  5. Too defensive. Too much of a coach/tactician. This era of success was started by someone in that vein (Mourinho) but only reaped major rewards with more laid back ‘Presidential’ type managers in Carlo and Zidane. Unless Poch or Klopp, I reckon they go down that route.
  6. Prime has opened up what I buy from Amazon. I now get the most random household stuff from Amazon.
  7. They won the league cup during that time. They also have more PL point than us. By 40 or so. A good season and we’ll overtake them.
  8. Don’t rate Southgate at all. Feel he will do well to still have a job at the end of all this. Might get away with ‘young team’ excuse.
  9. Fair enough, I wasn’t there. But 20+ years is a long time. It’s differnt when the scars are fresh. But I take your point.
  10. Have no ill feeling towards them and I’m genuinely disappointed at what their club has become. 2009 will probably forever leave a sour taste in my mouth. I think your perspective as a fan shifts when you’ve been through what we are going through and what Villa are now facing. Villa fans that day had never experienced such gross levels of mismanagement and it was all banter.
  11. There are hundreds of ethnicities and languages and thousands of cultural identities across the continent of Africa. But Yaya sees them as all the same ‘outgroup’ more similar to one another than to (equally diverse) colleagues from other continents. Not sure it is Pep who needs to reflect on his attitudes. Lolwut?
  12. Better than that as his team actually won and both actions were sly. Neither even flagged as fouls. The Karius one is just as likely a penalty shout as a red card. Both totally avoidable too but not enough to make him negligible.
  13. £30m is way too low. £60m seems too high as well. But in any case, we shouldn't sell unless it is in the £60m range. Where we could sign 2 players that we think are really good. But that's a risk not worth taking. It's so hard to replace good players man. And doubly true for good leaders. I can't see Lascelles banging on Rafa's door to ask for him to be allowed to join Everton either so there's no logic there. We are on the gravy train. Have a low wage bill. Let's get this cunt Ashley out of our club so we can attack this league.
  14. Just thinking about all the times i've been right about a player but received stick for the opinions. Until eventually, the truth was too strong to deny Coloccini - pap more often than not Cisse - a sometime decent poacher, massive purple patch... mostly pap. Demba was the better player. Anita - unbelievably pap Paully D - can actually defend (when not diving into stupid challenges) #thecollegedropoutwasright
  15. I think he's worth more £40m But in any case. We sell him and I reckon Rafa leaves. Lascelles is integral to our project imo.
  16. The most important person at a football club is the Owner/person controlling the wider company and setting the objectives and strategy. Levy’s been the mastermind of Spurs ascent where Kroenke is at fault for Arsenal’s demise.
  17. I don’t mean inexperienced. I mean moreso ‘the hot manager’. The Tuchels. Conte. Sarri is the same age as Rafa but I reckon he’s more likely to land a top job than Rafa. Spurs and Liverpool imo won’t go for him. Arsenal probably should’ve went for him. I don’t class hem as a top team anymore.
  18. Think Rafa’s time at the bigger clubs might be over as a full-time manager. The trend is the exciting young manager. It’s when those don’t work midseason, where 18 month contracts for Rafa I might be scared of.
  19. Football had so many phrases like that, that nobody ever fully defines. It just becomes a part of the vocabulary and used in the same contexts. Game management is something that has become popular to say in the game but I’m not certain what it actually means. It’s used in the context of teams in the lead seeing games out. But I take it for how well teams manage the ebbs and flows of a football game.
  20. We can only dream of winning the Champions League being described as a poor season Their cup and league campaigns have been remarkably poor. Had he not won the CL he'd been sacked. This way he gets to leave on top. I don’t think this is true at all. Getting to the final was a big achievement. Anything less than an embarrassing defeat by Liverpool and they wouldn’t have sacked him.
  21. New manager could persuade Bale to stay. Zidane was the issue with Bale. Ronaldo - I don’t think is serious. Just wants attention.
  22. I said current squad. Joeyt's has the current squad except for VVD (Keita & Fabinho too) which shows Liverpool's squad is more expensive. Your stats would include the likes of Benteke, Morata (re-signed) and James who have been bought and sold within that time period or at least are not in the squad at all.
