  1. Moyes did well to get Arnautovic playing the best football of his career tbf.
  2. I hope Arteta does well. But if Arsenal were desperate to compete again they would go for Allegri or someone. They’ve decided to go for someone who will be grateful for the opportunity.
  3. The Arteta move smacks of mediocrity. Guardiola, Enrique (Who I don’t rate) and Zidane were all groomed for those jobs. All managed the respective B teams. Iirc Zidane even wore suits as a coach or assistant to Carlo before taking up the manager role at Castilla. He was always going to be given a chance at the job. Enrique left the B team and flopped at Roma and he still got the role. He was always going to get it one day.
  4. Not sure about that. Poch is a proper coach. The current squad and setup is best suited to top man managers, managers who have players bought and sold for them with the ability to be sharp tactically when needed. It’s a difficult club to be shaped in a managers image. I don’t think they would go for him and he would fail imo. Zidane stays win or lose imo. Getting to 3 CL finals in a row is a tremendous achievement and one that will save his job unless he or the team has a mare.
  5. Feel like i hated Big Sam then and I do now.
  6. I like Welbeck. But if he had the exact same season for us instead of Arsenal would he be in the squad? I get Delph if you don’t take Livermore. You would only bring one on to keep a lead or replace Dier. Young can cover LWB.
  7. Spain only have a ‘top 3’. There isn’t a lockout like we have in England of the top 6. And you know. Spain have won things
  8. Seem deadset on Griezmann don't they? They should loan Dembele out but they will probably need the money. Outside of experienced purchases Barcelona have tended to struggle in the transfer market for a long-time. Neymar, Suarez & Rakitic couldn't fail. BUt you look at the other signings in the squad post Guardiola and it's not great at all. And it's too easy to rely on Messi, in a way Real don't rely on Ronaldo. Ronaldo will be the difference in terms of scoring important goals when nobody else would. But the rest need to create the chances. At Barca, you can play off Messi totally and other players can take less responsibility.
  9. If Villa stay down and we get 40 points, we'll overtake them in the all-time PL points list. City will overtake us both though.
  10. Pitch invasion is small time from Villa. Written that they’ll win it 2-0. Terry and Brucey from corners ffs.
  11. Eh? If he’s said racist things in the past, the whole squad should rightfully dislike him and there shouldn’t be a place for him in the squad. We’ve all swept the Arab Cunt thing under the carpet but if it’s knosn that type of stuff isn’t uncommon from Him then... yeh so be it.
  12. John Terry had two excellent feet. Imo he was a better passer than Rio. However, Rio was a more comfortable player on the ball as in moving forward with it into midfield. Better first touch. England won’t get anywhere trying to dominate possession. Try that and be lucky to make it out the group.
  13. Absolutely Away goal rule is absolute bullshit. How is it a good advert? Nobody scored any away goals lol. Happy Fulham won. Would like Sessegnon to stay another season but he doesn't need another season the Championship. And this tippy tappy shit won't work in the PL anyway. If it does, it will be well-deserved. I like Bruce but i'd rather not see his brand of football back in the PL. For Hatem.
  14. Even then i don't think anyone knew it was going to be a success, in general it's a load of nonsense as most cliche bullshit is. Zidane too. Rafa as well tbh - with us. Some managers and teams just suit personalities.
  15. Good. Fuck off Valverde. No Messi. Couldn't do it. He would've scored an additional 2 goals. Emma Boateng c'mon son.
  16. The slap that knocked Diame into gear gives Jamaal the nod for me.
  17. Leading club? Probably another loan for him imo. Chelsea won’t be able to get a massive fee from anyone at the moment. Thy usually tie players up for super long deals. Same with Abraham. Another loan.
  18. I’m fairly gutted at how meaningless this season has felt beyond us. Last year was bad but this year even worse. Haven’t had a interesting PL since we went down and Leicester won the league.
  19. Love him. Fantastic player. A different type of passing midfielder. Able to carry it when needed and beat a man.
  20. Man U just happy to get him off the wage bill. I reckon Rooney will take a lot of any fee if moving requires a drop in wage.
  21. I don't think the team was the best we've seen but the achievement was absolutely brilliant. Never bad enough to lose over 38 games is massive. Great concentration and mentality. And at the time no clear-cut weaknesses.
  22. Isn't lifestyle a pretty fundamental part of being an athlete? You get some that are gifted athletes, who you could see playing other sports. Rooney isn't that but he's not your Guthrie's, Sammy Ameobi's or even a Yohan Cabaye who struggle to keep up physically over 90 minutes and 38 games. I don't think you get to be as good as Rooney was, or as dynamic, without being a good enough athlete.
  23. I think it’s more down to lifestyle, determination to succeed, injuries, the league and style of play. Rooney wasn’t a first team regular at 16. Ronaldo’s played over 150 more games than Rooney. 40 club games or more for 14 out of the last 15 seasons. Hasn’t played less than 30 games a season since his first ever season. Rooney probably has a natural build / athleticism that is prone to aging badly. He’s had weight problems. I doubt his diet and lifestyle is great. And he has a rugged style of play. Some lads are unlucky with injury. But there’s a strong correlation between injuries, physical decline and lifestyle. All this to say, if Rooney took better care of himself he would’ve extended his top level performance for many more years. Probably.
