  1. He's enthusiastic and is a big lad for his age but i'm still not convinced he'll make it as a premier league player.
  2. We have Ba and Cisse an nobody else up front. Honestly we still have Shola who is a "decent" cover. I may have bias but 10m+ for Carroll is never a good deal. I'd rather spend 5-6m on some unproven striker in France. 10m+ for Carroll is definitely a panic buy. Shola is a crock of shit and is never fit. We've shipped out Best and Lovenkrands and won't play Xisco and Ranger.
  3. Pity the Greek fans that have came over for the game (if they have brought any). nar they'll be areet, theres that Simply Greek place in the Bigg Market. They'll feel right at home. There's about 20 of them sat outside Shearer's all wrapped up against the cold laden with club shop bags. I'd imagine they'd go indoors if it wasn't for the tabs they're all smoking.
  4. I'll be going by myself tonight as the bairn is away on holiday with her aunty.
  5. Why are you so angry about this? When have we ever had a full house for a cup game against a minnow which is also on TV? I recall us having 40 odd thousand against Mansfield a few years ago, was the day Shearer scored his 200th goal. Not sure if it was on TV or not but still. I'll be surprised if we get more than 20K tomorrow night going on what we've sold so far, only really the East stand is close to being full, probably only about 1,200 tickets have been sold in the entire Leazes. It's understandable that people aren't going if they simply can't afford it, but people who can afford it and will go to the pub and watch it there (for example) are pretty much paying £15 by the time they've bought their pints and their taxi home etc. Bit of a shame that we've made such a big deal out of getting into Europe and we can't even half fill our stadium. Hopefully a comfortable victory anyways, I reckon 2-0. It's on a free to air channel that 99.9% of the population can watch at home.
  6. We've consistently had horrendous attendances for European Games, it's nothing new and we've not had decent crowds until the quarter finals usually.
  7. Agree with this 100%, a load of sentimental nonsense is talked about the 80's football experience.
  8. Bloody Hell. RIP. Did a lot of good for the club but rubbed people up the wrong way a lot doing it. I met him on a club trip i won and he was good crack and a lovely bloke so can only speak as i find.
  9. Everton apparently came back for pre season training much earlier than usual and much earlier than anyone else.
  10. 4-4-2 4-3 -3 2-5-3 all bollocks man, we do't stick to rigid systems and play 2 or 3 different sysytems in the same game to suit the opposition. You can't play the same system against everyone.
  11. I think that's all a load of bollocks. Him and ba were our 2 most likely i thought.
  12. i expected to get hammered, thought we were just getting into the game when we gave away the pen and lost our way until the 2nd half when we were played okay but they had taken their foot off the gas a bit. Need to take our chances when we get them though.
  13. That would be Forster, the man who didn't want to stay unless he was first choice. who is also now playing in a pub league against utter shite
  14. I've heard similar, terms no problem, taking shirt number 11, only problem is Liverpool holding out for £15M I'll ask again seeing as though neither of you mention, but where are you hearing this? Jungle Drums

    Ryan Taylor

It wasn't peter Beagrie. It was Brian Little who was at Tranmere when Taylor was there as a youngster.
  17. neve said he was shit, just haven't seen what the fuss is about.
  18. Pre season friendlies don't count, they're just about getting fit for the season.
