  1. I agree about the other 3 but thought Anita could have done more to pass forwards.
  2. He did, as did Lascelles. You can't say that about unpopular players though!
  3. He was disgusting, giving ball away every time, looked weak as p*ss and just stood on his man half the time. He needs dropped to see if it jolts him As above, I didn't take that from the game at all...more controversially I would have Obertan as our next best attacking threat, on the night. I had Obertan as our best attacking threat full stop. I couldn't understand McClaren hooking him as he was the only one who looked to be busting a gut to do anything. I thought Wijnaldum, Thauvin and De jong were far far worse than Sissoko mind.
  4. Aye, the ball hit De Jong on the back didn't it? That's when my young un called him rubbish.
  5. He was better going forward than defending, but woeful is a little harsh on him to be honest.
  6. I think they could if we actually pressed as a team, but coaching that into the players would take time and even if the coaches had the nous to pull it off it's something you teach the players during pre season and not after an abysmal start bordering on crisis. Don't really think we've got the players to press high at all. Too weak at the back and susceptible to longer balls. I think they could play together, if they showed any defensive appetite for the game. Sissoko defends selectively and Wijnaldum is adapting. We don't press at all though. The only player pressing and tackling back last night was frigging Obertan!!
  7. Aye Wonderfully rash. At least he was willing to get stuck in though. Showed a willingness to get forward too. Horrific hair. If Mitrovic had done what he did he'd have been off!
  8. Strong words. Good. Sounds like he's calling a few players out too, which they deserve. Aye. Krul deserves some respect for that, but there again it still seems a bit rich coming from the same man who congratulated Defoe on his derby goal. That said, it also validates rumours of in-fighting and poisonous influences within the squad. McClaren should be trying to root that sort of shit out at source, but maybe it's all too far gone to fix it now. Krul was 25 yards out of his goal doing his dinger at the midfield in the aftermath of Sheff Wed's goal last night. Not a happy man at all.
  9. Bizarre ratings for some. I didn't think Lascelles or Williamson did a whole lot wrong, our problems were in midfield and our lack of an attack. Wijnaldum was absolute pony.
  10. He did alright I thought. Got a deserved booking mind, went right through the kid.
  11. He was woeful last night. His touch was terrible, he never found a team mate with a pass and held on to the ball too long when others had made decent runs.
  12. 3 years on the spin we've dicked them, won't happen Saturday night, we're gonna get fucking hammered.
  13. No he didn't, he passed it sideways to Lascelles and Williamson and back again all night. Possession for Possessions sake.
  14. He's as weak as piss and slower than a sloth. My 12 year old daughter asked me after 20 minutes "Dad who's our number 10 cos he's rubbish". If she can see it why can't McClaren?? Simpson was on radio Newcastle as I was driving into town at 6.45 when they'd just announced the teams. He said they'd picked the strongest available team. Bollocks, Colocinni and Perez were on the bench for starters!! I don't like Obertan but he was one of a very few who had a go last night and did tackle back and try to attack yet got hooked for a young skinny kid who was then starved of any service. After Cardiff in the FA Cup I said I'd had enough of paying for home cup ties but got suckered in again last night and am really regretting it!!
  15. Yip, something different, something new, someone who the players all knew and respected as having done it all in the game.
  16. 'I thought we had enough possession and opportunities... created enough opportunities and chances to score'. Really? Doesn't sound like it. It's possession for possessions sake though, all night back wards and forwards across the back four and then back again with no urgency or desire to even get over the halfwayline.
  17. He's got to go and he's got to go now. Slow ponderous ( I won't call it build up as we don't seem to want to get over the half way line) sideways rubbish.
  18. There'll be a highlights show on BBC1 late on. Channel 5 isnt it? Is it? Was BBC last season so just assumed it was this year as well. I know the live games are on SKY.
  19. Good injuries to have, if there is such a thing! Who would play left back with Haidara out though? I'm sure Anita played Left Back for Ajax and also for us last season but if Colback is injured as well he'll be needed in midfield anyway.

    Adam Armstrong

He simply isn't ready yet, should stay where he is and get a full season of first team football under his belt, bolster his confidence and come back here next season stronger and wiser.
  21. I was at a different game, he looked disinterested for the most part and only got involved once we'd scored and only then because Janmaat got into more useful overlapping positions forcing him to play. I felt he was going through the motions. The whole team played at around 80% and that's just not good enough (Janmaat was a bit better). This for me as well.

    Graham Carr

Gouffran. To be fair to him, Gouffran at least had a small purple patch where he scored a few goals. I'd go with Amalfitano personally.
  23. It's funny but traditionally people have always said the most important person at a football club is the manager, and rightly so. A manager (traditionally) would be the most important person in executing the vision. A club like Man Utd always had the vision, support and resources but needed the manager to make it happen. But now with so much money being in the game, owners being in the sport for various reasons, they're the most important people. Look at Swansea, loads of different managers but the vision from the top has remained the same. Even with us, without SJH there's no KK or revival. Arsenal's board are happy with Arsene's penny pinching no doubt. Man Utd had the same vision Liverpool have now for about 25 years until they hired Fergie and his ability as a football manager turned them into the behemoth they are today. Before that the vision was crying about their glorious past propped up with some cup wins. You could also argue that Fergie struck lucky with the class of 92 as they'd been pretty poor for the first 3 years of his reign and had fans calling for him to be sacked. Just saying like.
  24. He's not got the pace to be a winger but looks a decent clever player when played inside.
