Good news, we need his pace and directness. Still needs to work on his runs and positioning but he adds another element to the attack which we need.

I heard a good training method is to play Wall with someone else. You have to kick the ball at the wall in such a way that the other player can't return it, so you end up having to play the ball at some really awkward moments which you otherwise would avoid. Wallie! Its been a while. What a game!

For what it's worth, with Shearer, you probably would have been able to look back on the last few matches and remember his contributions or attempts to bring the team back into the game.
