  1. I don't see Cristiano, and the Fenomeno won two golds, one silver and is the best goalscorer of all time in the competition. Do agree though that if Xavi is at 15 then Iniesta has to be there as well. Think we all agree list is a bit s*** Obviously meant Cristiano, he is no.33 Missed him. WTF is that list

  3. That actually got me more excited about the World Cup than anything so far. It's so weird to be in the US for the build-up. Brolin in the Top 100, though? Was class in '94. Would have though Nils Liedholm would be a better Swedish choice though. Is he in there? /hipsterfootballfan Both should be on the list. Strange no swede from the 1958s runners up is on the list. Brolin should be a bit higher in the list. World class player until his career ending injury autumn 94. He never come back in good shape and made fool of himself in Leeds. It's a list for the 100 best players in World Cup history, think they tried to get it as geographically spread as possible, because while Brolin had one very good World Cup I'm not sure he was really Sweden's best player in the 94 World Cup. Dahlin - Andersson was a lethal strike partnership which forced Brolin to play the free-role. Liedholm I've been told wasn't the best either for the '58 side, heard Hamrin was better during that World Cup and scored more. It's so interesting to watch the games from back then, ESPN Classic is definitely a favourite channel. Watching the old World Cup games is as appealing as it gets for me. The sheer quality on those bad pitches with those heavy leather balls. Class. I figured Liedholm for the Gre-No-Li stuff, and isn't he the oldest scorer in the final? Was also voted Sweden's sportsman of the millennium, or some such. Like I said, he was, but that was because of his achievements in Italian and Swedish football, not because of his achievements at the World Cup. Actually it was Lennart Skoglund who represented Sweden in the 'Dream Team' and neither of Hamrin or Liedholm were there.

  5. Nice. That Iran kit from 1998. That number in the front
  6. It's really easy, and I haven't really played that game for a while. You can just see it.
  7. I stick to the La Liga, Bundesliga and then the PSG games + Milan games at times. Got fed up with the PL and especially our team after Cabaye left and we couldn't score a goal.
  8. I CAN'T READ! Set up the paypal the other day, but since I don't have to use it I won't. ''The Flea'' Fuck off.
  9. Actually set up a paypal for this shit. So hopefully I'll just wire the money through paypal soon enough.
  10. Messi Even the describing text is explaining how s**** he's been at the WC. Messi was the best player in the group stages at the last World Cup. He was a substitute in 2006. He was easily Argies best player at the 2010 World Cup, just plain unlucky. Created so many chances, hit the woodwork so often. Just didn't get the rub of the green and Messi v Ronaldo fanboys just look at goals. Unlucky? Is that the term we use for Messi in 2010 when they were rightfully battered by Germany? Maradona won it singlehandedly, without much help. Cristiano has had a far more successful international career than Messi, and I'm a Messi fanboy when it comes to this dicussion since I think he's 10x the 'footballer' Cristiano is.
  11. I can't argue too much with Pele, Maradona, Beckenbauer tbh - though I'd certainly have him higher than ninth. In Brazil many consider his World Cup history to have been far better than Pele who after all won the '70 with a great team, '62 he didn't even play, Garrincha won it singlehandedly and '58 we won it when the manager decided to start playing both as both were on the bench. But many players get there on club merits rather than World Cup such as Zico, Messi etc who won nothing. Ronaldinho ahead of Rivaldo as well. Whole list just screams 'I KNOW NOTHING' but it's still an interesting read nonetheless.
  12. All s*** puns aside anyone actually have an opinion on him as a player? I know he was top scorer but can't say i watched Torino much outside the odd game against Juve and Roma. Surprised you don't have an opinion on him and haven't watched him play since he was 15 tbh. I was amazed that a player I'd heard of (if only for his daft name) was not someone Mole felt capable of giving his False 9 once-over. That was old Mole, i haven't watched nearly enough football this season to give opinions on anyone who wasn't relevant before this season. I'm sorry to disappoint The old Mole wouldn't care if he had even heard of the players name, he'd be able to drop stat-bombs on all of us anyways
  13. What age are you? Definitely not alive back then. Doesn't take away the fact that I've seen the '62 and '58 World Cup on video endless of times. Zico shouldn't be on that list, didn't win shit. Drillo should probably be there, beating Brazil with the worst footballing nation ever is an accomplishment.

  15. I just looked in the top 3 and didn't see Garrincha there. That was enough to say that's an absolute shit list. Didn't even look beyond that. Only other player except Maradona to win a World Cup completely singlehandedly. He also won in '58. Shambles of a list.
  16. It doesn't get any more complex than that. One of our better players before being unceremoniously dumped for Colo.
  17. Enjoyed this That list is pretty bad, interesting reads nonetheless.
  18. x100 We're too scared of it, it's pure scandinavian mentality, no one should be better than anyone. It's just ridiculous. "Everyone needs to play" is a disgrace. It's a noble idea but one that countries our size just simply can't afford. Remember being p*ssed as a kid when the opposition could choose who plays double shifts in our team if we didn't have full lines in hockey. Like it really matters who wins the U-10 match. Apparently it even got worse after my time and even goals weren't counted, everyone just has to play and have fun. After the last WJHC even the big boss of Finnish Hockey admitted that "everybody plays" resulted in many lost generations. Hopefully things are changing now.
  19. Another political problem, instead of helping doctors and investing in healthcare, our genius of a president thought it would be a great idea to import 3000 doctors from Cuba with 3 years of medical school behind them. They thought this would solve all our problems completely leaving out the fact that there's not a shortage of doctors in Brazil but a shortage of investments and the reason no one works in isolated areas despite being offered huge money north of £8k a month is because there's no equipment and you're basically working with a gun stuck to your head since 90% of the patient will die without the necessary equipment and investments to help them.
