  1. Enjoyed this That list is pretty bad, interesting reads nonetheless. Gascoigne should be way higher than Boniek and Banks should be the highest goalkeeper for sure....I'd have Lineker higher too. That's from an English perspective...time to investigate further. Taffarel World Cup gold, silver and participated in three World Cups. Not in the same League as Banks mate, he was the greatest keeper ever. Not sure why CRonaldo is so high either...he's way above both Gazza and Iniesta??? I've seen very little of Banks, since most of the old match footages I've seen have been with Brazil, Argentina or Germany involved. But while I do see your point, that's World Cup history. Shouldn't it then be the best from the World Cup history and not a single World Cup performance? Taffarel was an integral part of a Brazilian side that won in 94 despite having brought one of the worst Brazilians squads ever to a World Cup and then almost won in 98 playing once again a huge part in the reason getting to the final. As for best goalkeeper in the world ever, I hear so much about Yasin and am told that he was the best ever. Never seen him play a game though, only seen some youtube clips. Banks and Lev were about the same time and although I only saw Yachin and Banks on film....Banks was without doubt better...and that famous save from Pele in 70...Jeez. With regards to the list, I'm not sure why CR and Messi are so high or eve in it at all. Uwe Seeler should be higher and that Brazil 82 side should have more representatives than just Zico....I'd find room above the Platinis and Brolins for Falcao, Socrates and Junior. Zagalo should be higher too...as a player AND a manager must put him in the top 15. List is shit anyways.

  3. In terms of technique I don't mean dribbling and so on, I forget to mention that when I post on here, with technique I mean his intelligence on the pitch his ability to hold up play and get into positions. I understand your point as well, but I think he'll offer Spain far more than Torres since he's able to drop deep or play as the lone up top. I'd have brought Negredo anyways, it's ridiculous that Torres goes ahead of him.

  5. He has better hold up and technique than both, he's also faster than both and offers a different dimension because of his ability to chase down and win ball up front. He'll cause far more problem than anyone else and will fit their style as he has shown this season he can spearhead an attack. I like Villa, but age is starting to get him and he's not the same player he once was, Torres is clumsy and I haven't seen him have a good game in the blueshirt ever basically.
  6. While that maybe so, he's still nowhere near as good as those going. Plus i'd be very apprehensive in taking Atletico players as the system and style of football couldn't be anymore different if you actually purposely tried. Even Costa i don't think will have as much success. Costa is a ''far'' better footballer than both Villa and Torres. I think that if he gets to be fit he'll give them a different dimension to what their strikers have offered them in the last couple of years.
  7. Always been the case though. That's why I feel Navas was so important. They really have no other option than pass their way to gold which I honestly am not sure will work now that we've seen plenty teams show how you stop it.
  8. Is Negredo injured? Risky as fuck taking Torres and Costa when one is a bad player and the other is in bad fitness. Also Navas always offered them that speed on the right-flank that I think was substitute in late in the 2nd half that could take advantage of tired defences.
  9. Except Vlaar I haven't seen one of those defenders ever play. Well and Martins Indi or whatever, but he surely can't be starting.
  10. Was the best partnership we was last season imo. Neesy?

    Arsene Wenger

Ivanovic shouldn't ever play CB proven time and time again he's not good enough there.

Actually looking forward to this. Hamann off his tits.
  16. I don't see Cristiano, and the Fenomeno won two golds, one silver and is the best goalscorer of all time in the competition. Do agree though that if Xavi is at 15 then Iniesta has to be there as well. Think we all agree list is a bit s*** Obviously meant Cristiano, he is no.33 Missed him. WTF is that list

  18. That actually got me more excited about the World Cup than anything so far. It's so weird to be in the US for the build-up. Brolin in the Top 100, though? Was class in '94. Would have though Nils Liedholm would be a better Swedish choice though. Is he in there? /hipsterfootballfan Both should be on the list. Strange no swede from the 1958s runners up is on the list. Brolin should be a bit higher in the list. World class player until his career ending injury autumn 94. He never come back in good shape and made fool of himself in Leeds. It's a list for the 100 best players in World Cup history, think they tried to get it as geographically spread as possible, because while Brolin had one very good World Cup I'm not sure he was really Sweden's best player in the 94 World Cup. Dahlin - Andersson was a lethal strike partnership which forced Brolin to play the free-role. Liedholm I've been told wasn't the best either for the '58 side, heard Hamrin was better during that World Cup and scored more. It's so interesting to watch the games from back then, ESPN Classic is definitely a favourite channel. Watching the old World Cup games is as appealing as it gets for me. The sheer quality on those bad pitches with those heavy leather balls. Class. I figured Liedholm for the Gre-No-Li stuff, and isn't he the oldest scorer in the final? Was also voted Sweden's sportsman of the millennium, or some such. Like I said, he was, but that was because of his achievements in Italian and Swedish football, not because of his achievements at the World Cup. Actually it was Lennart Skoglund who represented Sweden in the 'Dream Team' and neither of Hamrin or Liedholm were there.

  20. Nice. That Iran kit from 1998. That number in the front
  21. It's really easy, and I haven't really played that game for a while. You can just see it.
  22. I stick to the La Liga, Bundesliga and then the PSG games + Milan games at times. Got fed up with the PL and especially our team after Cabaye left and we couldn't score a goal.
