I'm starting to like Pardew again, I'm starting to think he's mentally ill and starting to feel sorry for him.

Will make them much more likeable. If there's one manager on the international scene that I really appreciate it's Guus Hiddink. A true gentleman and I think that he could've possibly have 3 4th places in the World Cup had Australia not been cheated by that penalty against Italy in 2006.

I think it's Di Maria - Alonso - Modric midfield that is the key. While brilliant, it's also the most light weight of midfield's you'll ever see. All hardowrking, two have excellent engines. But let's be real - there's no tackle. No strength. Shame about Jese's injury. As Bale will be played into the ground. ? I don't agree whatsoever, Barcelona have less engine and less strength or tackle than Reals midfield yet are a step ahead. Back to being Pardew, CD?

Yeah my opinion of a great fullback is definitely different, I want a fullback that can attack. Grew up idolising Cafu and players like Zanetti and Roberto Carlos. Players that could run up and down the field and do everything. As for Cole, Dani and Evra, they've all been great fullbacks none of them are anymore though. Still of the opinion that the two best fullbacks are Marcelo and Lahm. Lahm because of his consistency and amazing awareness. Marcelo because he's the best ball-playing defender I've seen in a long time. He's excellent for Brazil every time and has improved defensively over the years. Better than Dani ever was defensively.

This is the problem in the world, when players like Zabaleta, an out of form Alves and a benched Cole are considered great fullbacks we know there's a shortage of them in the world. I think Rafael is a decent player, but he's just too reckless and he's not as talented as Dani and Marcelo are who both used to be as reckless as Rafael if not worse. Was a time when Marcelo was a hotheaded crazy person on the pitch, unbelievable how he has matured over couple of years and even become 3rd captain for Real. At the moment for me there's only really two GREAT fullbacks in the world. Lahm and Marcelo (who granted wasn't good against Sevilla, but who is the most technical fullback there is and comfortable on the ball). Alba, Dani, Zabaleta, Rafinha, Alaba, Cole etc. are all very good fullbacks, they're just not great.

The same Martin O'Neill they, nearly to a man, wanted at the time? #partywithmarty without doubt the cringest set if supporters ever 'Pardiola' 'The Fenham Eusebio' There's been a few from both sides over the years. 'Hop on the Gus bus'

p*ss poor return for the sums spent but thats what you get when the needs of the squad are secondary to "whats the biggest name in football we can get?" In recent years they've gone about building very good squads back to front. Well since the Kaka in Robben out debacle. This season I think they have arguably the second strongest squad in the world. The madrid/Spanish lads coming through (and bought back) are providing fantastic depth. Although i've been dissappointed with Carvahal in recent games. Carvajal has been a good signing, but lately him and Bale have been atrocious. Well for the past two games at least. I think they have the 2nd best squad as well, they have much more depth than Barcelona. What they don't have though is an Iniesta or Messi that when they turn up, they turn up.

Well that's not really true at all, clearly very talented, can attack and cant defend (see the vast majority of supposed top fullbacks), skilful, an attacking threat and a constant runner but too eager to challenge his man and reckless with that. I would agree with Henke if it wasn't for the fact this league doesn't really have any class right-backs. He's not bad, but he's just an ok player. Better than what most teams in the league has but there's a reason he's not even 4th choice RB for the national side.

Since Zidane retired? Didn't they only win like 2 titles during his 5 years at Real?

Robert guaranteed goals and assists. Pardew would have to start him. As did Tevez and as does HBA when he's played. There's no way Pardew would play Ginola or Robert. Neither Dalglish nor Souness did and they're of the same ilk as Pardew. On a related note, Souness is a decent pundit and often makes the point about how he was wrong about Robben, who he'd written off as lazy. I don't get why he's never transferred that admission into his job when he's been a manager. Ben Arfa's a very good footballer and should start every game but he's never had a strong track record of getting goals and assists. Laurent Robert he isn't. Absolutely, but he's without a doubt the player that would be involved in most goals in our club if he started every game. He scores a fair few, and assists above average. Obviously he's no Robert, no Solano either, but he's the most talented player in this squad.

As 1 dimensional as they have looked this season... this is the by worst playing issue. Absolute shambles at the back and defensively in midfield. I don't think Sir Alex did ''The future Man U'' any favours when splashing huge money on Phil Jones and Smalling. I'm not saying they're necessarily bad players, but for the price they paid for both they could've gotten one proven defensive class player. I mean both went for a combined £25m which could've gotten them a really good player. Also, big big mistake not going for Cabaye.
-
I definitely think Martinez is the right man for the job, but whether or not they'll be going places depends clearly on the owner. I think he's proven he can win things with lesser players, but can he close the gap enough to make Everton a CL side again? I certainly hope so, I like him as a manager and I like the fact that Everton aren't one of the other clubs around them. I still think we'll be seeing Everton around 6th in the coming years unless he somehow gets money to buy players like Lukaku and so on. Whatever they do, I'm certain they're in for a brighter future than us.

Average player, rather give Haidara more games or Santon another season to get back the form we all know he has had.
-
Probably, yeah. They're both c***s, let's just leave it at that. Glad we can agree.

We are well stocked with wing players, so I think it's likely Deulofeu will spend another year away on loan. From what I've seen he's better than Tello and Afellay, and I think will end up complementing that team perfectly in the future. However, as you say, there's no need to halt his development and he won't bring that much to the table now so another year or two on loan will do wonders. Would love to see him in the La Liga next season starting for a team, like Rafinha at Celta de Vigo. What has happened to Cuenca? Hasn't played since returning from that knee injury?
-
I'm not sure at least he admitted to going to away games to draw. Pardew plays hoof ball around his own goal-area and then calls it attacking football and that we had a go at it. Same shit both of them, difference is Sam is doing a horribly boring job with a horribly boring squad while Pardew is doing it with a far better squad. Actually think Pardew genuinely thinks West Ham has a better team since they're all british.

Yummy as fuck and even better that he did that to Pepe.
-
Still think Barcelona is in deep trouble if they can't improve on their performances against the lesser sides. Weren't good enough today, and if Pinto doesn't make those saves in the 2nd half I could easily have seen Barcelona crumble a bit.
-
Games come thick and fast now, I believe they'll start to crumble. Still, truly amazing job. Their best hope is to give up on the CL and focus solely on the league. Obviously that won't happen.
-
GTFI! Great day for Atletico and Barcelona. May Atletico beat Athletic in the week-end and let's hope for a final day where winner of Barcelona and Atletico wins the title.
-
Felio? Doesn't work Semtex. Your coding is shit.

There's no way anyone else has gotten a pass. Our whole defense was shambles last night, difference is I've seen Colo be one of the best in the league, I've seen Willo have ok games (I'm no fan of his either and don't think he's good enough to be even a backup in the PL) and MBiwa was playing out of position. Dummett is a limited footballer who won't cut it, I'm calling it the way I see it. If you don't agree, then fair enough, it's your opinion. I'm pretty confident that in 6-8 years time we'll see Haidara and Santon having far better careers than Dummett. That's just my opinion, I'd be glad to be proven wrong and see him playing for the national team and becoming the next Baines and I'll eat my words if that happens.
