Reading a book by Ferran Soriano. Halfway through it. 'The Ball doesn't go in by chance' is the name in english I think. Explains management ideas and strategies in todays football and how they managed to turn Barcelona into a profitable club in the early 2000s. Interesting books and gives you a nice overview of the management/economical stands you have to take to be successful and the different examples in todays football.

I'd have Bent, anything so I don't have to experience Shola starting ever again, will do.

Don't know if it's been discussed but a lot indicates Bielsa will take over at Santos.

I don't usually agree with you but here I have too, so much shit going on in here about being able to replace everyone. We should try and keep the squad as it is the most possible with 1 or 2 new players going in.

Abel Hernandez would do well in the PL from the little i've seen of him.

No it's a midfielders fault for not providing enough support to a striker so a team needs to rely on individual brilliance by this player (weird sentence not sure if it makes sense ). In any case he only started 16 games this season and I think that speaks volumes of his ability. He had trouble to get into the team when everyone was fit. I saw quite a bit of Liverpool, didn't see much tbf but nothing he does impresses me. Against us where he scored 20% of his seasons goals and 25% of his seasons assists was the only decent game he had and even then it was down mostly to us being embarassing. We'll have to agree to disagree here Deuce

TBF similar things are used in Brazil, it all depends on the context. In any case to call him a racist is a bit daft really (and so was the 8 match ban tbf), because anything can slip in moments like that, but his moaning and constant diving will be nice to get rid off even if he's footballing ability is a shame for the PL to lose.

Agreed. So could Shola, he might wake up tomorrow and actually be a footballer. Henderson is as long as he keeps doing what he's doing and developing at the rate that he is NEVER becoming a £15m player. Except Henderson played very well for Liverpool last season. He's starting for one of the world's biggest clubs, with a lot of competition in midfield. And he's only 22 years old. £15m also isn't as much money as it used to be. First of all he didn't play very well for Liverpool last season, the evidence of that is the fact that without Suarez for the first half and then without Coutinho/Sturridge for the 2nd half they'd be nowhere near where they finished. They aren't one of the world's biggest clubs when it comes down to squad, only history at the moment. Also does he really start when everyone's healthy? Allen, Lucas and Gerrard are all ahead of him and they might decide to play Coutinho as an AM next season with two wingers. For me he's not more than an average footballer, I'm not saying he's terrible, but he doesn't look like a player capable of starting for a team who will push for CL football. That's my personal opinion anyhow.

PSG, Monaco, Man Utd, Roma and Napoli The others I got but was unsure of Napoli. Thanks!
-
I can only see us contemplating the idea of signing him if Colo leaves. I'd have him here in anycase, but we still need to prioritize buying a left-winger.
-
My italian is very limited, but does it say that Napoli is also interested?

It's the 5 of the 6 best teams in SA and the ones I believe can do the most damage in a World Cup. Ecuador on paper isn't the best team, but they do have some good players and collectively they're a good team. They can definitely go past the group stages in the World Cup with Caicedo, Chucho and Valencia providing they can keep it tight at the back. At the moment I'd love to see Peru beat Uruguay next to keep this really really interesting as long as Venezuela lose to Chile.

Mascheranos face when he's sent off He can't believe he's been sent off? Prick, he just kicked the guy what was he expecting.
-
Falcao has scored for Colombia (v Peru) and Aguero for Argentina (v Ecuador). If it stays both are probably sure things for the World Cup, well Argentina is already but Colombia will join them.

He was nowhere near the level of the other players, but he still scored goals in Brazil. He wasn't AWFUL, he just wasn't as good maybe as the rest. But yeah Careca was a very good player. He was in that World Cup, believe me. And yet he kept being selected, much as France did with Guivarch in 98, except Guivarch's performances were 20 times better than Serginho's. The Justin Fashanu comparison really wasn't a joke. Fair enough. Careca was due to play in 82 but got injured and was replaced by Roberto Dinamite!... Dinamite was another one who scored a shit load.

94' World Cup is one of the best ever. Everything was just magical about it. That Norway Mexico Ireland Italy group was ridiculous. That Saudi player scoring that goal when he went past everyone. Romario, Roberto Baggio, Baresi, Tomas Brolin, Stoichkov, Lechkov, Klinsmann, Escobar being shot in Colombia, everything happened at that World Cup.

Trying to figure out how come they're that high up the list, must be something wrong there.

That's the thing though, Jo looks to have far more talent than Pato at the moment. I'm serious, Jo isn't THAT BAD, he's the leading scorer of the Libertadores and scored a bit last season (10goals and 7assists in 28 games). Not saying he should start or even be called up, but he's not as bad as Pato at the moment. Tbf, my opinion of Jo will always be tainted by his lackluster spell at City. Didn't he score a couple for Everton and they then loaned him again only to see that he was terrible? I bet Neil loved him in his first loan spell.
-
His biggest problem now is psychological. Absolutely the worst mentality seen by a footballer ever as well as a complete lack of intelligence.
