Contemplating actually getting one next year and going against everything I've been saying for about the last 5 years. Pardew is probably what's putting me off at the moment in all honesty.
-
We're the worst team in the league, and we're only going to get worse over the summer.
-
Not really bothered who we sign now. Just save the money for getting out the Championship when he's fucked off.
-
This could get really nasty now. Pardew might need bodyguards by preseason.
-
Sky haven't even mentioned any of the banners or any of the fan discontent. If it was a foreign manager they would be all over it.
-
Probably just think we're deluded idiots if they're constantly fed the top 10 target shit.

I loved Bobby, but things had started to turn sour a year before he was sacked. He should have been given a role upstairs that summer and there should have been a proper transition to a good up and coming manager. As a club we were an attractive proposition. Liverpool handled their managerial appointment right that summer. We fucked it up, sacked Bobby at a ridiculous time and appointed the worst possible replacement. We still suffer from that decision now IMO. It was a huge turning point in our fortunes and Shepherd was to blame.

I remember when Keegan tried to punt Shola twice, then Kinnear came in and gave him the 5 year contract ffs! Just coming to the end of that now. How embarrassing.

Not anymore. Sure it's 25th now. We keep slipping and slipping under Ashley.

All the teams you've mentioned usually have something to play for at this stage of the season, be it the league, a European place or Premier League survival. By comparison, our season's essentially over. A push for Europe isn't necessary out of the question, but its also very unlikely to be taken seriously given the attitude of the board and the manager towards the Europa League. I'm not disagreeing with you - it's pretty pathetic just to hit 40 points and shut up shop - but it's an inevitable symptom of where we are, particularly in relation to the teams you've mentioned. Oh, I know that, but all have had poor seasons in the past. Everton and Liverpool have had seasons recently where they haven't been in contention for Europe but you wouldn't find their managers worrying about motivation going past 40 points. They would never see it as a target, and their fans wouldn't let them. Remember that Pardew is classing this season as some kind of success, less than 2 years after finishing 5th. Even in our first season up again we were 45 mins away from finishing 9th. I fail to see how midtable mediocrity and scraping a couple victories over Villa and Palace in the last few seconds is something to be proud of, just because we're already 'safe'. It's the attitude the club has and the mentality of Pardew. Not the mentality of a winner. Not good enough for Newcastle.
-
That's my point, we shouldn't even need to worry about it. It shouldn't even come into consideration. Only the horrendous management of Pardew last season even made it an issue.
-
Which teams switch off when they get to 40 points? What a stupid cunt Pardew is! I don't see Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs Man Utd or Everton EVER switching off when they reach 40 points. They don't even think of it as a fuckin target, never mind switching off. We aren't Norwich or Crystal Palace. Pardew is so small time. It's amazing how many of his utterly ridiculous unambitious quotes just get brushed over by the media.

Our league position is where we should be anyway. Anything below 8th with our squad is under performing in my opinion. Who below us has a better set of players? Nobody! It's utter shit. There is some arsehole on Radio Newcastle now saying it's only the MOTD watching fans who are against Pardew and how nobody was calling for his head a month ago. Of course you don't call for his head after a win, but you can still believe he isn't good enough. That's 5 or 6 weeks of good form in 18 months for fucks sake! I'm amazed people still back this cunt.
-
David Craig in the managers lounge saying to Pardew, "We all know your teams love to play great football...."
-
I'd rather win this than Saturday tbh.
-
He's not even quiet though. He's always on hand to defend him. Sickening watching him on Goals on Sunday.
-
Of all the former players, it's Peter Beardsley who pisses me off more than any other. So far up Ashley's arse it's unbelievable.
-
I got an email off the club trying to sell a shit plastic rain coat about 2 minutes after a defeat and sent a simple "FUCK OFF" back. Sports Direct got back saying they would respond within 1-5 working days too. Still waiting on a reply.

TBh relegation in the short/long term may be a blessing in disguise if Ashleys revenue stream suffers and he trys to sell actively We thought this the first time around and nothing materialised. Club is pretty much un-sellable whilst it's straddled with that debt, interest free or not. He basically washed his hands with the club over that summer. The only thing he didn't do was have a fire sale, basically because he could afford not to. He only started to get slightly interested again once Hughton, Nolan, Barton and co somehow managed to sort us out into an actual football team again.
-
Especially considering its only a couple years since Llambais justified the ground name change by saying we had exhausted all commercial revenue streams so it had to be done. Commercial revenue streams were so exhausted that half the advertising boards in the ground are apparently just waiting to be bought. ha.
-
I havent bought any merchandise in years either. Not deliberate against Ashley, mainly just because its shite since we moved away from Adidas. The replica tops just look cheap really and the club shop is just another SD.
-
Not overspending doesn't bother me so much, although you usually have to spend money to make money, it's the fact that we do absolutely nothing to try and improve the club and build it. The Everton badge thing is a strange one, but at least they have a vision of improving the clubs image globally and want to progress. We couldn't give a fuck.
-
Our trophy cabinet was too full on there arrival so they got told to back off with the cups... Ashley has probably taken what little silverware we had in it down to Ramsdens anyway.
-
Where are you getting this from? Or are you wrongly lumping all commercial income together as being advertising? £29million to about £14million a year. Doesn't exactly take a brain surgeon. To think our turnover was higher than Spurs in 2007 too. Clearly it does as commercial income is not just sponsorship which is the point i was making, genuinely dont know what your post has to do with mine. Erm, considering sponsorship takes up a big chunk of commercial revenue, I think it's pretty obvious.
