  1. Would quite happily see Sissoko and Anita try and build a midfield partnership together without Cabaye tbh.
  2. Wouldn't put a tick beside taking the flack away from Ashley. It's increased it if anything.
  3. My facebook message rather than typing anything new on here: "You have to question why anyone would spend their money on Newcastle United now? Simply exist to survive in the Premier League so that Sports Direct can get maximum exposure. Won't spend anything in the summer, then if its looking dodgy by January they'll try and do just enough in the market to survive. No interest in the cups as there isn't any money in it. Not interested in marketing the club off the pitch, or improving the team on it because its all about Sports Direct. Keep expectations low so that the don't need to spend money on wages. It's a scandal. The club don't even try to do well anymore. That isn't the aim. Club isn't even competing in a sport anymore. We're simply a marketing vehicle for one of the tackiest immoral brands in Britain. Would love it to be like 10 years ago when me an my mates would look forward to a game at the weekend, getting the train down or driving down. Excited about seeing what will happen and knowing that, even if you had a shite manager like Souness or Roeder, you knew that everyone was trying to succeed. Can cope with being shite for whatever reason, not with not even bothering to try. Makes me so so angry watching videos of the Robson era now thinking about what Ashley has done to us."
  4. True. They want us to believe the aim is to keep hold of our 'world class' players though, and they want us to accept it as a reasonable ambition.
  5. David Craig basically just talking about Cabaye. As the voice of the club on these days, it's quite obvious they're going to try and spin keeping Cabaye as some kind of major victory. It's a load of shite. We're a club that are apparently in good financial shape and our main aim is making sure a big bad club don't come in an knick our players. It's absolutely pathetic. And as for the guy before who said the balance sheet is more important. It isn't, or the club would be trying to improve it. Our turnover is far lower than it should be. The aim seems to be keeping the club's ambitions as limited as possible so that we stay up and don't need to spend any money. No interest in marketing, big sponsorship deals or maximising income.
  6. Even under better management i'm still not convinced of that tbh. Barring some major injuries we should be comfortably top half imo. We only need one of Ben Arfa, Cisse or Colo injured and we're f***ed tbh, because we have nobody anywhere near as good as them to come in and do a job. http://news.images.itv.com/image/file/152914/article_7bd59f3531a03801_1359050386_9j-4aaqsk.jpeg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/08/11/article-2389276-1B3C1982000005DC-5_634x420.jpg I'm not counting Gouffran as an out and out striker and relying on Remy is ridiculous. We are stupidly short in some positions.

  8. Towards the end of the game that was the best we've played in a long time. Bringing on some attacking players and taking the horrendous Shola off made all the difference. That's what we can do when we're positive and attacking teams. Hope we don't retreat into our shells again in the next few games.

    Sammy Ameobi

Can't believe what im reading here. He constantly gave the ball away, his crossing was shit and he did his headless chicken performance again. Granted, he took his goal well but I thought he was awful other than that. People calling for him to start on Saturday. Jesus Christ!
  10. Really? Genuine question, do you know anything about his coaching? I judge on what I see coming through. Nobody is coming through. Players seem to get worse then leave.
  11. It's hardly a wonder our young players are failing to progress when Beardo is coaching them. He's only here because he used to play for us and he's an Ashley arselicker.

Thought he was awful. Did well for his goal but beyond that it was just a headless chicken performance again. Elliot was our MOTM by a long way, followed by HBA.
  13. Half looking forward to the game, then I remember utter shite like Sammy will be playing and i start to dread it.
  14. Should be playing our strongest possible team. Our treatment of the cups in the past few years has been a fuckin disgrace.
  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes%27_list_of_the_most_valuable_football_clubs Our turnover was above Spurs in 2007.
  16. Stan Kronke and The Glazers? (rather more literally in the latter case as they're getting the club to payoff the cash they used to buy it) Hicks and Gillett were the same at Liverpool, not sure about the current American owners. Would people prefer we had owners that did that but were prepared to spend more in order to compete? If someone took over and looked to build the commercial side of the club, improve it's image and attempt to grow the fan base, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to be competitive without an owner needing to throw in huge sums of money. We don't even try to grow the club off the pitch at the moment. Other clubs tour the world trying playing to new fans. We can hardly organise a pre-season tour of Europe without it being an utter shambles. Turnover has barely moved under Ashley, despite increased TV money. Sunderland make more than us commercially. Its ridiculous.
  17. I presume pre-90s we werent the team with the 7th biggest turnover in England or the 20th in the world. And thats without even trying to increase turnover. How we were back then shouldn't have any effect on expectations now or what we're going to do going forward.
  18. Get Will Hughes, James McCarthy, Gomis and Scott Sinclair. All gettable in this window, we can afford it, and Cabaye can fuck off. Oh, and a nice new manager.

    Alan Pardew

How long would arsehole have the dressing room for though. Last time he was here two players forced their way our in January and the Liverpool home game was as bad as last night. I can't see a way forward while Ashley is here. Poyet is probably our only hope. Not because he's a great manager or anything, but because he's better than what we have. So depressing.
  20. I did. He used to go out to just try and bust Ronaldo at St James'. I remember the game Lovenkrands scored when he just basically ran over and smashed him on the touchline. Then he ran away with his chest puffed out like the cunt that he is. It's always a race between him and Beardsley to be the go to Geordie to stick up for Ashley too.

    Alan Pardew

They didn't turn after getting shagged off the mackems 3-0 then Liverpool 6-0. It was still "Pardew, give us a wave" at QPR. The away fans especially are more interested in getting pished and having a sing song, proving they're loyal as fuck than they are about turning on the manager. SJP just stays quiet.

You could count on 1 hand the number of good performances in the past 13 months. Bordeaux, Chelsea, Sunderland away.....

A good account of ourselves until the sending off. hahahahaha!!!! Fuck off Alan!

The sooner Kinnear comes in, gets a couple game and has a heart attack the better. Both of them gone.

How is this cunt still in a job. It's beyond ridiculous now.
