David Craig in the managers lounge saying to Pardew, "We all know your teams love to play great football...."
-
I'd rather win this than Saturday tbh.
-
He's not even quiet though. He's always on hand to defend him. Sickening watching him on Goals on Sunday.
-
Of all the former players, it's Peter Beardsley who pisses me off more than any other. So far up Ashley's arse it's unbelievable.
-
I got an email off the club trying to sell a shit plastic rain coat about 2 minutes after a defeat and sent a simple "FUCK OFF" back. Sports Direct got back saying they would respond within 1-5 working days too. Still waiting on a reply.

TBh relegation in the short/long term may be a blessing in disguise if Ashleys revenue stream suffers and he trys to sell actively We thought this the first time around and nothing materialised. Club is pretty much un-sellable whilst it's straddled with that debt, interest free or not. He basically washed his hands with the club over that summer. The only thing he didn't do was have a fire sale, basically because he could afford not to. He only started to get slightly interested again once Hughton, Nolan, Barton and co somehow managed to sort us out into an actual football team again.
-
Especially considering its only a couple years since Llambais justified the ground name change by saying we had exhausted all commercial revenue streams so it had to be done. Commercial revenue streams were so exhausted that half the advertising boards in the ground are apparently just waiting to be bought. ha.
-
I havent bought any merchandise in years either. Not deliberate against Ashley, mainly just because its shite since we moved away from Adidas. The replica tops just look cheap really and the club shop is just another SD.
-
Not overspending doesn't bother me so much, although you usually have to spend money to make money, it's the fact that we do absolutely nothing to try and improve the club and build it. The Everton badge thing is a strange one, but at least they have a vision of improving the clubs image globally and want to progress. We couldn't give a fuck.
-
Our trophy cabinet was too full on there arrival so they got told to back off with the cups... Ashley has probably taken what little silverware we had in it down to Ramsdens anyway.
-
Where are you getting this from? Or are you wrongly lumping all commercial income together as being advertising? £29million to about £14million a year. Doesn't exactly take a brain surgeon. To think our turnover was higher than Spurs in 2007 too. Clearly it does as commercial income is not just sponsorship which is the point i was making, genuinely dont know what your post has to do with mine. Erm, considering sponsorship takes up a big chunk of commercial revenue, I think it's pretty obvious.

Would quite happily see Sissoko and Anita try and build a midfield partnership together without Cabaye tbh.
-
Wouldn't put a tick beside taking the flack away from Ashley. It's increased it if anything.

My facebook message rather than typing anything new on here: "You have to question why anyone would spend their money on Newcastle United now? Simply exist to survive in the Premier League so that Sports Direct can get maximum exposure. Won't spend anything in the summer, then if its looking dodgy by January they'll try and do just enough in the market to survive. No interest in the cups as there isn't any money in it. Not interested in marketing the club off the pitch, or improving the team on it because its all about Sports Direct. Keep expectations low so that the don't need to spend money on wages. It's a scandal. The club don't even try to do well anymore. That isn't the aim. Club isn't even competing in a sport anymore. We're simply a marketing vehicle for one of the tackiest immoral brands in Britain. Would love it to be like 10 years ago when me an my mates would look forward to a game at the weekend, getting the train down or driving down. Excited about seeing what will happen and knowing that, even if you had a shite manager like Souness or Roeder, you knew that everyone was trying to succeed. Can cope with being shite for whatever reason, not with not even bothering to try. Makes me so so angry watching videos of the Robson era now thinking about what Ashley has done to us."
-
True. They want us to believe the aim is to keep hold of our 'world class' players though, and they want us to accept it as a reasonable ambition.
-
David Craig basically just talking about Cabaye. As the voice of the club on these days, it's quite obvious they're going to try and spin keeping Cabaye as some kind of major victory. It's a load of shite. We're a club that are apparently in good financial shape and our main aim is making sure a big bad club don't come in an knick our players. It's absolutely pathetic. And as for the guy before who said the balance sheet is more important. It isn't, or the club would be trying to improve it. Our turnover is far lower than it should be. The aim seems to be keeping the club's ambitions as limited as possible so that we stay up and don't need to spend any money. No interest in marketing, big sponsorship deals or maximising income.

Even under better management i'm still not convinced of that tbh. Barring some major injuries we should be comfortably top half imo. We only need one of Ben Arfa, Cisse or Colo injured and we're f***ed tbh, because we have nobody anywhere near as good as them to come in and do a job. http://news.images.itv.com/image/file/152914/article_7bd59f3531a03801_1359050386_9j-4aaqsk.jpeg http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/08/11/article-2389276-1B3C1982000005DC-5_634x420.jpg I'm not counting Gouffran as an out and out striker and relying on Remy is ridiculous. We are stupidly short in some positions.

Towards the end of the game that was the best we've played in a long time. Bringing on some attacking players and taking the horrendous Shola off made all the difference. That's what we can do when we're positive and attacking teams. Hope we don't retreat into our shells again in the next few games.

Can't believe what im reading here. He constantly gave the ball away, his crossing was shit and he did his headless chicken performance again. Granted, he took his goal well but I thought he was awful other than that. People calling for him to start on Saturday. Jesus Christ!
-
Really? Genuine question, do you know anything about his coaching? I judge on what I see coming through. Nobody is coming through. Players seem to get worse then leave.
-
It's hardly a wonder our young players are failing to progress when Beardo is coaching them. He's only here because he used to play for us and he's an Ashley arselicker.
-
Thought he was awful. Did well for his goal but beyond that it was just a headless chicken performance again. Elliot was our MOTM by a long way, followed by HBA.
