Totally different situations. How? Given would only be here 1-3 months in a situation where we could do with a keeper. I can't see any similarity to being linked with Bellamy other than they're both former players.

What a slut! She's wants to be an actress I see. Haha

For me, trophies first, entertainment second. Anyone who says any different is an idiot! However we were getting neither under 'Big Sam'! And it was 1969, not 68. Getting that wrong and claiming to be a fan is fuckin ridiculous.

The stadium next to the one that used to be called Highbury is absolutely plastered with corporate advertising for Emirates and even named after them (whatever next !) and it's one of the best looking arenas in Europe. Just sounds like a few Newcastle fans being up their own arse again about how special THEIR stadium is. (Which of course it is) To be fair though, Emirates isn't a tacky sports shop with ugly looking fonts in their adverts. And we're probably getting even more up our own arses if we start to say "well advertising is OK but only if it's acertain certain company/product" In principle, it's wrong, but there again maybe all sponsorship in sport is wrong ? We're in debt, we need money and principles don't pay wages or feed mouths. Rather this than sell a promising player. I dont think its anything to do with being up our own arses tbh.

Does the company actually pay for the sponsorship, or is it just that Ashley owns the club so he just puts the Sports Direct signs up.

I thought Barton was woeful. A real return to form - he can do it every once in a while when he's got a bee in his bonnet and is centre of attention but week in, week out, just plain not good enough. He didn't look any better last year against similar standard opposition - Guthrie, on the other hand, pissed it. For me, he's a much better player than Barton. Barton's set pieces are f***ing terrible, so easy to defend. Guthrie is nowhere near the standard of Barton. Based on what? Nothing I've ever seen in a black and white shirt, that's for sure. Never has a player lived off reputation so much, even more than Smith and Nolan. "Best midfielder" my arse, he never hides to be fair to him but 9 times out of 10 he offers nothing. Totally disagree. By far our best midfielder, based on performances when he's match fit.

Everton are looking good despite their results so far. Worried about this game, but looking forward to the day.

Poor start to the season. Expected 5 points at least.

That fuckin poem!

Yes that one game. I'm not going to sit here and list them all.
-
Well I totally disagree. ever since he's been here we've looked a better team with him than without. One game that springs to mind was the mackems away when we got beat. We were awful until him and Jonas came on. As I said, not as good as when he was at City, but still fairly decent. Although he does take a while to get up to speed after injury.
-
He hasn't been crap here though. Granted he hasn't been as good as he was at City, but he hasn't been crap. Can't remember any dreadful performances like I can for some of our other players.
-
...and probably would have done if he could have stayed fit two seasons ago. I hope he manages to maintain both form and fitness he has kept his head down, worked hard and he deserves it, then maybe a little credit will come. I know. He could have at least chosen to be born with steel bones so they wouldnt break. He's a fuckin idiot for deciding to get injured and missing periods of the season. Seriously though, get a grip. I doubt you were blaming Shearer for his injury problems. It's also not Joey's problem that on a number of occasions the club has decided to bring him back too quickly from injury, like many a player over the years. I'll agree it always takes him a few games to get match fit, but this can't be helped. When he does get a run of games, he's pretty much our best player.
-
Can't believe ANYONE would pick an embarrassing home defeat as their best moment, just because fans gave one of the opposition players a good reception. Seriously, how embarrassing and what a loser.
-
Wes Brown's unfortunately. Looked like Shearers at the time though. Great moment.

Shearers goal in the 4-3 win v Man Utd in 2001.

Personally, I thought Smith was awful against Man Utd. He wasn't in the game other than one camera block. That said, he was very good in the Villa and Wolves games. Far better than I thought he could still player. He has admitted though that he's finished at the top level, which is pretty worrying when we come up against the leagues better sides. Him and Butt were shocking in the relegation season, not because of effort or anything, just because they're past it. Not their faults. As for Simpson, he just isn't very good. A Championship player for me. I know it was only one game, but to me last season he was ripped appart against Forest at home. I would be worried having to rely on him at right back. Pleased with the rest of the team though. I would go for: Krul, Perch, Williamson, Colo, Enrique, Barton, Tiote, Jonas, Nolan, Carroll, Ben Arfa. 433 at home.
-
Espn has Jonas down as a homegrown player. Wrong surely. Also doesn't mention Carroll or Vuckic in players we can also use.
-
Harper has a FIFA 02 heed.
-
I can imagine Tiote having a massive flute.
-
Ben Arfa, Xisco, Smith, Jose and erm.....Shola!
-
Barton looks like he's sorted himself and turned his life around. He's perfect captain material for me. He's also our best player in my opinion. I would be amazed if he was dropped after his start to the season.
