  1. Wtf kind of shit statement is this? Is giving Barton away for nowt a good decision?
  2. Did anyone pick up on Waddle's comments during the game. Thought all his best work at west ham came when playing down the left.
  3. It was a really poor reaction by Barton and could so easily have ended up with us being down to 10 men. His pussy reaction to the slap was cringeworthy. Having said that really hope he stays, he's going to be crucial to us this season in dragging performances and hopefully results out of our players.

Yeah but, this is the new way to run a football club and Ashley and Dekkas are pioneers. The longer it takes everyone else to realise this the bigger our headstart can be.....
  5. Not sure they are knee jerking, think it's a fair assessment at this point. With all the clamour for money to be spent, ironically, it could be the emergence of young talent, Vukic, Ferguson etc which could make the difference.
  6. Neesy, people are assessing the squad and suggesting we may struggle this season, not judging one preseason performance.
  7. This season could be a good one but at the same time there's every chance it could turn into one long struggle. We've one decent right back, three centre halves and one left back who will almost certainly leave and be replaced with inferior quality. We've certainly added much needed guile and pace to the midfield but significant doubts about adapting to English football and questions over fitness. Options up front are significantly diminished compared to this time last season.

    Mevlüt Erdinç

To Oldtype - I'm certainly one of the pessimist and nothing I've seen this window gives me any reason to change my view. I'm convinced his only plan is to reduce the cost base and bring in cash where he can; improving the team will be way down his list of priorities. I'm yet to be convinced there is any willingness to spend significant money on a striker. Don't believe there was any serious bid in for Gameiro or Gervinho and expect the erdinc deal to follow the same route - oh dear he doesn't want to come to us and we were prepared to pay £8m and 60k per week, honest! All just my opinion obviously and desperately hope I'm wrong but I dread to think what state this football club will be in when he finally sells up.
  9. Am I missing something like...."demba ba is the only striking addition....would be surprised if we don't spend any more money" What is wrong with the points he is making?
  10. Really lookinh forward to seeing him and Cabaye in the centre of ourt midfield; has the potential to be awesome. But, as we know, if the right amount of money is offered he'll be sold.
  11. Fuck me, do people still really think this may happen. How much cash do you think is left after the new under soil heating and the water bore. We're being played for fools yet again and yet again we're falling for all the bullshit.

    Blaise Matuidi

Sounds promising. Him and Tiote = Viera and Petit.
  13. Correct toonpack and the plan is to recoup as much as possible before selling up. So don't be too disappointed when we keep narrowly missing out on these £10m rated 'targets'.
  14. Be prepared for more of the same..... nufc end their interest in £10m rated "x" as they find a cheaper injury prone alternative. Meanwhile Ashley continues to sell off players and line his pockets.
  15. Would love to be proven wrong like but there's just no way ashley is gonna spunk 10million on any player let alone zog. Be prepared for the asset stripping while we replace them with risky freebies or cheap get out clauses. Wouldn't be the first time we've been "misled".
  16. I'll be surprised if we spend a significant amount of cash. Why buy N'zogbia when we can get Marveux in on a free. Just Enrique, Gutierrez, Barton, Colo, Tiote left to cash in on now. Hopefully by this time next year he'll have recouped his cash and will finally sell up and fuck off for good.
  17. Simpson would be a real weak point in a 4-3-3. I always feel you need your full backs to provide some attacking width in that formation.
  18. I'd have him back in an instant. Million times better than the buffoon currently at the helm...
  19. Really tempted by 4/1 Aston Villa. Chelsea with a few injuries

    De Jong

There was some journo on Talksport reckoned there was nothing in the FIFA rule book which states retrospective action cannot be taken once a referee has dealt with an incident. Basically this line that the FA continually peddles is just a kop-out.
