wow, that's an eye opener if there's any truth in it Thankfully there isn't. It's making out as if he knew nothing about Ben Arfa really which is pretty fucking strange considering what the lad was saying about Chris Hughton while still at Marseille. They did the same with Keegan and Bassong. Aye it is just all backstabbing propaganda from what I can see. You would have to be pretty fickle to believe it. Unfortunately a lot of football fans are. Just want to quote these to help make sure it's seen by whoever needs to see it. '5.2 The Club admitted to the Tribunal that it repeatedly and intentionally misled the press, public and the fans of Newcastle United.' Do not be taken in by them, they are proven and admitted liars. Ben Arfa told the world he came solely because of the job Hughton did selling the club to him, Tiote had been scouted since the days of Keegan. When anyone gets in their way, Llambias always tries to lie, libel and slander his way through the situation. Without fail. Like fucking educationally subnormal children. 'FACT.' Timely reminder, thank you.

I think the length of the contract is quite meaningless really as it will not cost Ashley much to break it, once bitten etc.. what it might be supposed to represent is a new era of stability.. look, a 5.5 yr contract, time for long-term thinking.

A lot of you seem to be missing the point, we're all supporters of Newcastle United, and there's a major clue right there. The opposite of united would be disunited, and kicking off in fury and disgust will contribute to chaos, or breakdown. We'll lose games, plummet down the league and get relegated.. and you'll all insist it was just Ashley's fault - nothing to do with you. By all means protest before the game, during half-time and after the game, but whilst the football is being played be UNITED behind the players - they need your support right now.

Crumpy is right on this one. Self defeating to attack Pardew before he has even managed a game or two. Irrespective of his relationship (or lack of) to Ashley/Llambias he's a football manager who has been given a job to do, hardly a capital offence. No-one is very happy with the circumstances of Hughton's dismissal but that is where all this anger really stems from. If someone approaches me and asks me if I'm interested in a job whilst I know someone already has that job does it make me a twat if I say 'Yes, I would be interested'? I don't think so. I don't like much of what I read about Pardew's character but let's face it that's all hearsay as I have no direct experience, nor do I think his record is all that impressive, but I've never even seen one of his teams play so I have to at least give him a chance. The jury is still out on this one. Just like to add, when I heard Souness had been appointed I felt like I'd physically been punched in the stomach. This appointment just leaves a sense of apathy.

He won't be here next season.

It does like, puts a different slant on things somewhat.

Damn you safety razors!! How the fuck are you supposed to slash your wrists with a Mach?
-
Vague recollection of something along those lines.

Because he's preceived of as being just an employee? Conversely Shepherd had the appearance of running the club on a day to day basis.
-
So Hughton wasn't even average. I wasn't convinced by him but the very least I'd grant him is the label 'average'.

Wouldn't buy his tracksuit from Sports Direct.
-
All of the above to varying degrees. Mostly pissed off though so I suppose Anger.

Ashley doesn't care enough about the fans to be too arsed whether we're pissed off or not. As I said on another thread he's done it because he thinks it's the best thing to do to protect the value of his investment. That is all he cares about. Seriously worrying if true, more like a massive fucking gamble.

I think the word you were looking for was HAD.

Snap your fucking hand off for 17th now.

That's the only silver lining I see at present, surely any new manager gets to bring in a player or two during the January window. Not much of a glimmer I grant you, but still. Conversely, breaking news: Ben Arfa vows to never return to St James'

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Pardew Controversies So far in his career, Pardew has been involved in several controversial issues and events. In 2003, the BBC described him as being a "dangerous and distant animal" in the media, referring to his public relations abilities, which has led him to making several rash comments.[22] When at West Ham, the club employed a media advisor for Pardew to help him win over sceptical fans.[2] The following is a list of controversies Pardew has been involved in: * In September 2003, Pardew resigned from Reading after being refused permission to become manager at West Ham. Reading's chairman John Madejski attempted to create an injunction in the High Court to prevent him from moving to West Ham. Eventually Reading's legal action was dropped, and Pardew joined West Ham after a period of gardening leave.[6] * In December 2005, Pardew stated a public interest in Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson, without informing Palace manager Iain Dowie.[23] * In March 2006, Pardew had a dispute with Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, after he criticised Arsenal for failing to field an English player in their UEFA Champions League win against Real Madrid.[24] Wenger suggested that Pardew was being xenophobic,[25] a claim Pardew denied, citing his marriage to a Swedish wife.[26] * In November 2006, Pardew had another dispute with Wenger after celebrating West Ham's win over Arsenal.[27] Wenger claimed he was "provoked" into pushing Pardew after Pardew's celebrations at West Ham's late win.[28] Wenger was later fined by the Football Association,[29] whilst Pardew was cleared of the charges in January 2007.[30] * In February 2007, shortly before Pardew's new club Charlton faced West Ham, The Sun published a report documenting a video of one of Pardew's media training sessions he took whilst manager at West Ham. In the video, Pardew jokingly made several disparaging comments about West Ham's fans.[31] * In October 2007, Pardew intervened on the pitch in a match against Hull City to try and break up a confrontation between Charlton and Hull players after Lloyd Sam and Ian Ashbee were sent-off. Pardew denied he made the situation worse by intervening.[32] * In March 2009, on Match of the Day 2 Pardew stated that Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien "absolutely rapes" Man City player Ched Evans during a midfield tussle for the ball, in the sense that he bested him physically.[33] The BBC said there will be no on-air apology, despite 35 viewer complaints, insisting it had been misheard as "rakes", and expressing no certainty that Pardew would appear, or not appear on the show again.[34]

Shocked. But then again it's Ashley so I'm not really. Hope to fuck it ain't Pardew though!

Aye, at that point we were tbf.

I think a fair few people accept Hughton has limitations imposed upon him due to the lack of alternatives available, but a good few posts are pointing out the tactical differences that could (should?) be made instead of the lacklustre affair that was served up at the Hawthorns. His hands aren't tied when it comes to dishing out match instructions are they? I realise he can't wave a magic wand and make them better players but he can tell them to press, overlap, get to the byline, push up etc. etc. The moment we conceded yesterday there should have been a plan B come into action by default. Continuing to play in exactly the same shape and fashion was never going to produce an equaliser.
