We really have signed two v. good players in Mapou and Sissoko. The both read the game well and like to bomb forward when the chance presents itself. Can't help but have concerns about how that's going to fit with Pardews prominent philosophy of safety first, maintaining shape and nullifying the opposition. Might be fine if Pards realises you can have a different gameplan when in possession and out.

Would be good if they had an offensive minded team with numbers prepared to get up the pitch, won't be much good with two regimental lines of four.

Been watching all the clips I can find. Looks like he could play just about anywhere on the pitch. But seems to have good awareness, reads the game well, strong, good passer and deals well with balls over the top. Basically he is to Williamson what anti-matter is to matter.

Wonder how long it will take him to drain the abilities of the new players? Mind, if Mbiwa goes off on one of those runs he (Pards) may just have apoplexy.

No shit? They're all over the country. I'm just not getting the Greggs jokes every time a player may or may not be signing. Apart from the obvious 'Greggs started in Tyneside'. Shoot me! Thanks, man. Actually vaguely remember some teasing along those lines. Someone trying to explain rather than state the obvious (Wullie ). Originally more to do with a play on "Who ate all the pies" and Greggs being a local outlet got subbed in. Endlessly repeated by people who apparently don't understand that humour diminishes the more its used.

What if Colo was convinced to stay by the news Pardew was gone? It's a distinct possibility in my mind.

Despite all the evidence I see there are still quite a few saying he deserves more of a chance, or don't get rid just yet. I think we're on the brink of a precipice. If he doesn't turn it round we're relegated, half the team will want out. The only players definitely not leaving would be Cabaye and Debuchy, Debuchy because he just got here and Cabaye because he's not going to run out on his best mate just after he got here. A season later though and they'd both be agitating for a move too. As the better players leave and are replaced with lesser models can anyone see Pardew managing to get out of the Championship? He can't even get our current team playing football for more than the odd 20 minute spell in 3 games or so. Injuries and Europe as excuses just don't wash. Injuries can hinder a team and make them a bit disjointed but not to the extent we have witnessed. Pardews philosophy is not to get beat. He was a defender as a player and always looks to nullify the opposition. He is not very good at it and we, as a consequence, are constantly hampered in attacking play due to the focus on stopping the other team. Time and time again he has tried to defend a 1 goal lead. The last occasion just yesterday when at home, playing well and against a team that had never won away from home this season. Everyone but Pardew knew what was going to happen and it duly did. He has to go or we are fucked with a giant capital F.

A miserable spectacle, but Pards will look to the facts we got a point and it was a clean sheet. Nothing to dismiss lightly considering our away form to date.
