We failed to beat Palace at home this season under Pardew and he always gets pissed on at Stamford Bridge, so I'm not sure there's much difference their. Anyway I'm going to stop even contemplating Carver for the rest of the season now, no reason to put myself through it.

I've not seen a huge amount of football this season but I've seen enough to know that we're not going down. Every single player would have to switch off entirely for that to happen; and the majority either care enough to keep going or are playing for a summer move. It's not going to happen. There's far too much s*** in the league. hmm, we struggled to a home draw with Burnley. I wouldn't be so sure Same We haven't won a game under this moron and I'd struggle to see where the points would come from. Its easy to look at the fixture list and struggle to see where points will come from. But the fact is we've got 27 at the moment and need somewhere around 10-11 more to more or less guarantee we stay up (less than 10 would probably even do and often does in this league). Which is 0.64 points per game (for 11 more), which is 24 points when over the course of a full season. Not a chance does our squad even managerless fail to get those points. I think it's easy to be complacent and think points are easy to come by. Pardew only got 13 points from 17 games to finish last season. Most people assume Carver to be worse. Any chance he can do three or four points worse than Pardew? I'd say there's a chance and that makes it a risk, one that we'd be daft to take. You don't even take slim risks with premier league survival. There's just too much at stake. Carver has a better team/squad at his disposal than Pardew did for that second half of the season (especially since the mong refused to even entertain the idea of playing Marveaux or Ben Arfa), and to be honest nothing I've seen so far makes him worse anyway. I mean he's looked shit, and so did Pardew. To put this into perspective even in our relegation season we managed 11 points from the last 17 games, despite only getting 1 point from the first 3 of those 17 games. Carver in charge till the summer would be painful to watch. It would only be bearable if we already had a contract signed for a real manager like Garde ect, otherwise I'd be disgusted by the decision. But I wouldn't fear relegation. EDIT: It was 16 points from 17 at the end of last season.

Then why try to get Garde at all? Well I don't think as things stand we feel comfortable betting on Carver hence why we want someone in now. But it would take nothing more than bottom of the table form now to stay up anyway, 0.64 points per game or so (24 points over the course of a season) would keep us up. Maybe Ashley is stupid enough to have his mind changed by something a monkey could achieve but it seems Charnley and Carr are fronting this appointment. I know its dangerous to look at things logically with Mike Ashley's Newcastle United, but the fact that Charnley and Carr are deciding on this and going after candidates like Garde suggests this won't be swayed by nonsensical stuff like a man managing to get 10 or so points from 17 games.

As long as he agrees to come and its all signed and done now for the summer then ok, we won't go down now, a monkey could get 10-11 points from 17 games. But if its a case of waiting till the summer and then sorting it out, I wouldn't be happy with that.

Fucking hell Carver is thick like, of course Mourinho wants you to get the job, 6 easy points you tit.
-
To be fair M&S have Sunday as the beginning of the week, so it must be true. After all its not just a roster, its a M&S roster.
-
I'm nervous about the next appointment and worried we'll fuck things up, but Saturdays score won't have any impact on it.
-
No problem with them having more than one option BTW. Just hope they don't get arsey like they often seem to with transfers, and end up pissing all the best candidates off. Basically just nervous at the idea of Newcastle United actually making a good forward thinking appointment. Just all seems to good to be true.
-
The club may find someone better, or they may find someone worse and decide he's the better choice for some crappy reason. I'm more than happy with the prospect of Garde, I'm practically delierious at the thought of a promising young talented manager who can work closely with the one man I trust at the club (Carr). So I'd rather just stick now than twist, just hope its done and ASAP so I can start really supporting the club again.
-
Gives him far more praise and credit than he deserves IMO.
-
Course he wont, he'll never change. He'll have runs of wins and might even occasionally look like he's found a good formula for the side. Then he'll fuck it up for no good reason and it'll all go to shit.
-
Following on again from his ex bosses teachings, Pardew 101 this like.
-
Yet the one fucker he doesn't mention is the one he seems to have learned the most from.
-
We were totally shit second half, I'm just saying that Krul coming back is huge. Not only does Alnwick let things in that any normal keeper should save but he helps weakens the defence just by being there. The back four must shit themselves that he's behind them. I agree completely we're shit with Carver, I just think that with a proper keeper there's no way we're shit enough not to get 10-12 points from 18 games. I want Garde in now as well BTW and to be honest if Carver does stay on till the end of the season I think it will be down to a failure to get him in rather than Carver impressing Ashley.
-
Him getting it to the end of the season is. Aye true, the season is essentially over anyway though. Not that I want him to get it, but I think it's related to getting the new manager rather than Carver's performance per se. I don't think it is, especially if we appoint Carver for any period of time. burnley should have buried us man. Not making excuses for Carver because he's shit and we were shit against Burnley, yet without slippery hands in goal we'd still have won the game.
-
Not sure we could afford to supply Carver with the amount of fish and chips he'd need for the year, could use the £3m from Pardews transfer I suppose.

But what does Del think? Seriously who's Rodney?
-
I don't like the sound of this. To be fair they finished that season 5th. EDIT: Already been said, should have just read on first.
-
Not sure how you can really challenge for honours when all you do is sit on the bench. Remy would have been much better served going to Arsenal, but ultimately he's a money grabber first and foremost.
-
Aye plenty of our fans are thick as pig shit, I mean basically mentally retarded.

One goal in forty two games, is that some kind of record for a striker?
