They've been linked with some good players, but I'm not impressed by any of the players they've actually signed so far. The only one I'd take here is Altidore, simply because we're lite up front, but not for the price they've paid (still not sure he's up to it).

I really hate the c*** of a owner we have with a bigger c*** as our director of football, while a clown is the manager. Feels like a bad black comedy movie. I don't want to disagree in general, but what has Fer going to Norwich got to with it? I think if another team sign a player with some sort of footballing ability, isn't costing ridiculous money and within our wage structure, then it's an outcry towards our cunt of owner and clown of a manager that they aren't playing against Man City first game of the season? But Leroy Fer isn't the kind of player we should be looking to sign, he'd be a waste of £7m

He failed the Everton medical no? What could have changed in 6months? A more desperate team came in.
-
Not sure Guillermo Varela can be considered a senior signing for Manure like, certainly won't have been signed for the first team.

I love to edit, get over it Anyway you keep saying that but do you really believe Bent would be anything but a first team starter week in week out no matter who's fit?
-
Even better, just Sinclair and Remy! Yeah I know, I hate Darren Bent is getting old, but its funny because its true Seriously though, Remy and Sinclair for the first team and Bent as backup ahead of Ameobi would be a pretty excellent window. If only I didn't have the most horrible feeling that Bent would be the second name on Pardews team sheet behind Jonas week after week..

Bent will still be going. Could stop any deal until a replacement for Benteke is sorted though. Which might just be long enough for us to escape a fate worse than death. Honestly, there's more chance of me playing for Villa next season than Bent. And I am 45. And not a keeper. Or indeed a footballer. I don't think he'll stay, I'm saying that the club may take the view that selling two strikers before bringing in any replacements is the wrong way to go. Which might delay any sale of Bent while they focus on the Benteke sale and his replacement, I have to have some hope here.. Seriously, not a prayer. Too much water under the bridge. Last summer we sent Warnock and Hutton to train with the kids, despite it meaning us playing the whole season with two full backs with a combined age of about Shay Given. There's zero chance of Bent staying. And to be honest, I wouldn't be too concerned if he did. He won't, though. No matter what you say I have to believe this has given us a chance, even a small delay could be enough, you can't take away my hope! :'( I don't know why you're all so bothered. He's a very good goalscorer. it's not like we're talking about Danny Graham, is it? Its nothing to do with his ability in front of goal. It comes down to him being the total opposite of what we need. We already have a player who's a poacher and doesn't do much outside the area (though at least Cisse sometimes scores the spectacular long range effort and in the past has linked up ok with others). The last thing we need added to the first team is a player who does absolutely zero outside the box. Especially when I just know Pardew will see him as a first team regular.

Yeah I definitely couldn't live on £50k a week like. Money is a part of it, but it shouldn't be all of it, and to those who see it as all of it, well they aren't someone most people would want to support every week and I can understand that. He had the choice to go to a team who were already relegated for more money, fine. But people also have the choice to call him a tosser for doing so and a lying c*** for not just admitting that was the reason to begin with. I mean common, the whole FIFA bollocks and constant quotes about how he didn't go there for the money, that more than anything is probably what p*ssed most people off. So you'd turn down 70k with a deal in place that lets you leave for somewhere else anyway if that job goes tits up? Commendable. Doesn't matter if your on 40 or 50k before, more money is more money. Fans can call him what they want yeh and I get your post, but sadly we aren't in the position right now to cast targets off as they previously turned us down. More money is more money, its the suggestion that it should be the only consideration that a lot of people can't understand, me included. The whole thing reeked of him being a total greedy twat. One moment he's set on signing for us and won't even speak to Redknapp about a move to QPR. The next moment he's signed for QPR and is rabbiting on in the press about how it was nothing to do with money. Like I said though I'd take him for what we originally offered in January, not a penny more.
-
He had the choice between being a major player at a club not in the relegation zone with a bunch of lads from his own nation that he already knew. Or one at a club bottom of the league with a manager he refused to even speak to days earlier. To be honest for me its the bollocks he threw around to try to deny the move was money driven that made me really dislike him. If he agrees to come here with a pay cut, for the amount we originally offered then as others have said we aren't in a position to turn away talented players, but he'll have a lot to prove.
-
If I was choosing between £60k per week and £80k per week the choice wouldn't come down to money. But that's just me, I'm not a money crazed lunatic, some people play the lottery only on rollovers, because apparently winning a few million just isn't worth the quid

Oh I don't think he'll stay, I'm just hoping for a delay while they focus on the Benteke sale and his replacement. Which could just give us enough time for either someone to come to their senses, move onto someone else or for another club to come in for Bent. I have to have something to hope for

Is this Sinclair thing just a rumour on Twitter?
-
Jay Spearing?, dont tell me we've been linked with him?
-
If only, won't happen though.

For me its the knowledge of what Pardew will do with a player like Bent. I don't think there's any chance he'd be a plan B player (a shola replacement) which is the only way he'd be a good signing.
-
Why terrible? Not trendy enough. I personally hope we sign someone from abroad who has a worse record and costs twice as much. His goal scoring record isn't the issue. He's a shit Footballer, a player who does literally nothing outside the box is not what we need for the first team and no way on earth will Pardew use him as a super sub.
-
He's a basket case, but outside of looking sane during interviews Pardew qualified for a rubber room game after game last season. Neither should be anywhere near the club, the way I see it is they're both terrible managers and I'd prefer one down one to go than Kinnear and Pardew still picking up their undeserved wage every week. If Pardew does leave there's always the tiny glimmer of hope that a new manager comes in or that Kinnear is only in charge temporarily. Then Ashley will really have to dig deep to find a man as bad to takeover. While Pardews here theirs no chance and also no chance of Kinnear going anywhere either (as it'll mean the club is doing well enough for Ashley to consider them both to be doing good jobs).
-
careful with that now man Would be a sideways step at worst as far as team selection and tactics. Based on what though? As far as team selection and tactics go Pardew set the bar about as low as I can imagine for any incoming manager last season. Kinnear shouldn't be manager any more than Pardew and he'd be more embarrassing during interviews. But I haven't forgotten the absolute insanity game after game from Pardew last season, so in short after Pardew I have nothing left to fear. If by some miracle he changes his ways and grows some balls then I'll join you in hoping he stays in case Kinnear takes over. But at the moment we're picking between a manager who's shit because he's a clueless coward and a manager who's shit because he's clinically insane.

I think if he stayed fit and played like he did at the start of last season for a good spell he'd have every chance of player of the year. All ifs of course, and we're not that lucky.
