You mustn't have seen Malandro very often.

That's the point isn't it Mr Happy Clappy. Signing a few players is no guarantee that good times are just around the corner. Especially when you limit yourself to one market because of its perceived value for money. MA has thrown the masses a few shiny trinkets to try and avoid relegation and suddenly everybody is losing sight of how we ended up in this position, where we are in the league and how the club is being run. Enjoy the good times if and when they arrive. For now everybody who cares about NUFC would be well advised to keep their eye on the ball. It was complacency that got us into our current plight and complacency is the biggest threat to escaping relegation. We've bought quality players in the positions we needed to improve the first team, a few trinkets.. Aye, and it's called Mike Ashley. I'm not going to waste my time explaining how he's playing the supporters for fools. Anyone who doesn't get it by now isn't going to get it until the end game arrives. You don't like Mike Ashley so signing several very good players desperately needed by the team you support isn't exciting?, no you've lost me.

That's why the 'you obviously want us to spend £50m' s**** doesn't stack up. We're clearly able to afford these deals, and it's to the club's credit that they're so reasonable. It's about recognising when you have to go the extra mile. In the summer the club didn't, and now they are. I just want to know where other clubs are with these players. It's not like we do it one or two players, about 8-9 of our squad we've got for way below their market value. It makes absolutely no sense - a genuinely world class, all action midfielder for under 2 million quid, and we don't give out stupid wages either. The logical assumption would be he's not world class. It's hard to imagine Europe's top clubs were aware a world class player was running down his contract but made no attempt to sign him on the cheap. I don't recall seeing this lad play but five international appearances in four years doesn't scream world class to me. France must have some unbelievable midfielders if a genuinely world class player can hardly get a game. Can't think who they might be mind. Out of interest how many times have you seen him play? He's 23, nobody said he's been world class since he was 19.. OK, when did he become world class? Last week, the 17th June 2010.... About 45 days ago I think.. Seriously, what I'm saying is theirs no point in gauging a players current ability at 23 years old based on looking at his international record over the last 4 years. What does an international record 2, 3 or 4 years ago tell us about the current ability of a 23 year old player? (considering how much players often develop between the ages of 18 and mid 20's). Look at his record this year by all means. Notice I didn't actually say he was world class, just an excellent player worth far more than £2m.

Certainly seems to be an excellent player though, worth several times more than £2m.

Wasn't our offer 3m Euro's with him staying there on loan? So no significance at all to the info that he'll be staying their until the end of the season.
-
Suppose they've accepted it a while ago given its been clear he's going for a while. I'm sure there's some bitterness involved in the post you've quoted though He's certainly far from a bad player.

To make it fair we paid £2.5million for Butt. How long before we mention Alan Smith for 6 mill, Albert Luque for 10million, Xisco for 6 million, Boumsong for 8 million, Guivarch for 3.5 million, Marcelino for 6 million, Owen for 16 million, Duff for 5.5 mill (although that was considered a bargain at the time) have I missed anyone ? Ah Freddy Shepherd, I miss you so.. little.

Pards must have some serious s*** on Ashley. IF this one and the sissoko transfer goes through what will our net spend be for Jan. Can't be far off what Man U spent on Zaha. As a rough guess: Debuchy (5.5m), Yanga-Mbiwa (6.5m), Sissoko (2m), Gouffran (1.5m), Haidara (2m), Thauvin (2.5m). Take off the Ba price and it's a mere £12.5m net spend. Maybe we'll get rid off Simpson too. That's less than a Fletcher, a Downing, a Bent, an Allen or a Henderson. A drop in the ocean considering the money we generate. Yeah all fantastic value. Mind you we didn't get 7.5 million for Ba, £5 million I think.

You never know I suppose, especially with some of the fees being quite small, we might have signed all of them, we might still go after another winger/striker.
-
He asked if Bradford are in Europe if the lose the league cup final. Cheers He's supposed to have said that Mbiwa and Sissoko have endangered their future in the national team by signing for us.
-
We're going to end up with at least another 4 players though, you negative fucker!
-
Honestly, he's only shooting himself in the foot. Our French players will face superior competition playing in the PL than they would in Ligue 1. He'd be a fool not to capitalize on that. If, of course, it's actually true that he will ignore our French players. He's never ignored Cabaye or Ben Arfa and said nothing about Debuchy, so I'd say its likely this is bull. Then again Deschamps strikes me as a mong so you never know if he might have said it. Either way he's certainly not going to ignore our players.
-
He's better than Obertan, but still no better than backup for us, considering what he'd likely cost and his age I wouldn't be impressed in the slightest.
-
Phew, you scared me for a second there Jimbo.
-
Don't do it!
-
Now there's a scary thought. Nah since when do we ever have someone lined up to replace someone who's leaving? Let alone have a fee agreed and medical arranged and have to put it back while we're finding out if he's definitely off or not.
-
then why the hell is he selling him to us Because we've probably matched a release clause. Anyway ignore that fat dick head, he's just pissed off because he's losing a class player for peanuts.
-
You scared me for a second there..
-
Do you mean unhappy? Or have I missed some news about him going to Arsenal?
-
If you blended Gouffran with the crazy frog then he'd look like Zamora.
-
That is being cynical. History and the backdrop of the Coloccini situation would probably put it in the realistic category. Since when do we get replacements in before someone leaves? We don't. That's not what I was getting at, at all. I'm confused then, thought you said its realistic that Mbiwa is Coloccini's replacement?
