  1. Its only the top 10 for some strange reason. Anyway pointless as that table is we'd be somewhere around £1m-£1.5m per point.
  2. Am I the only person on the planet who doesn't think that should have been a pen?, to me O'Hara dived. Taylor went straight into him and didn't get the ball. It was a foul, hence a penalty. I wouldn't have been surprised if it was given, just didn't think it was a definite pen, I've only seen it during the match though. EDIT: Seen it on MOTD, I don't think he trips him, which is what I was looking at during the match. But something I didn't notice during the match is Taylors arm in O'Hara's face. Suppose I'd have been pretty pissed off if it was the other way around and not given.

    Alan Pardew

IMO Pardew fucked up today and was lucky to get three points from a game we should have wrapped up comfortably after that first half performance. I don't think that means I want to see Newcastle lose or that I revel in negativity (I'm about as positive as it gets..). It's just my opinion. I think it was clear very early in the second half that we were under pressure and only threatening on the break. We needed to either go more defensive or bring on players that could really hurt Wolves on the break (players like Ben Arfa and Marveaux could have exploited that space). Bringing on Lovenkrands and Guthrie achieved neither, completely pointless substitutions that could and probably should have seen us throw away 2 points. We've done fantastically well so far and I'm still quite positive about Pardew as our manager, but that doesn't mean he's perfect and can't have his decisions called into question.
  5. Maybe we could give him a 2 year extension where he's paid his current wage for the next two years and then a new reduced wage for a further 2 years. I know we're a club with what seems like a very strict wage cap in place, but in pure employment terms, a pay cut as a reward for consistently performing better than your peers is a really shitty incentive to carry on giving your all. He should be rewarded for how outstanding he's been and at least stay on his wages. Not likely I know but still... If he was 25-26 or so I'd agree, but he's 29 and is contracted until he's 31. If the club offered to give him a new contract where he stays at £80k until he's 31 and then moves to 65k until he's 33 then I think that would show that the club certainly appreciate him and are pretty desperate for him to stay. Because its a far better deal than any other player at the club would get given the same situation (age and current contract). It also seems pretty unlikely that any other club would beat that offer (it would average out to over £72k a week for the next 4 years). I don't know, its a difficult one, I just don't think any player at this club should be getting £80k at 33 years old, but like you say maybe we'll do something with bonuses to make it look like less of a pay cut. Either way we have to do everything possible to keep him.

  7. Coloccini will be a money-hungry traitor this time next year. nice of you to remind everyone just in case they hadn't picked up on it the first 100 times they heard it. Oh no its different now, it used to be Coloccini and Gutierrez

    Sunderland...

Is that honestly from Bruce? Surely that's bollocks. EDIT: Ah right it is.

    Sunderland...

Careful lad, posts like this won't go down well on here. Wes Brown would also comfortably walk into your team. I didn't know Wes Brown was a good left back..
  10. From what I heard he kept it simple like you say (not a bad thing tbh) but always wanted the ball and seemed very confident in his play. Considering he's just turned 19 and it was his debut that's probably why he's getting praise.
  11. Were you at the match? I was stuck at work but I remember the commentators being pretty glowing about his performance.
  12. Think we've lost our last 5 games against Blackburn at St James' Park, they're a real bogey team for us at home. Still it has to break sometime, hopefully this is the year. Going to say 3:0 win
  13. Liverpool look crap, they're just standing watching Tottenham pass the ball around, Adebayor had the ball in a shooting position there and they didn't even try to close him down.
  14. And you wonder why you get so much shit on here. We could have given him the contract he got at QPR. Instead, we opted for the cheap player, on lower wages who hopefully we can make a profit on in a few years (has shown fuck all thus far). We could have offered him the same contract.. if we were completely retarded.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

NUFC.com know fuck all. They'll be guessing based on Pardews latest comments.

    St James' Park

If that's real he needs to get that off the fucking stadium now!
  17. It's not unreasonable at all to say that Cabaye had a quiet game. As long as it's qualified so that the delusional mackem doesn't think people actually agree with him. I was just joking with wormy as well, he's right it was a bit handbagish.
  18. He could have. He's never played in the PL.

  20. Taylor was useless tonight defensively and also limited us going forward. Santon couldn't have done any worse.
  21. Cabaye did well whenever he was on the ball tonight and did well defensively. However it's impossible for a player to dominate a midfield by himself. Considering the overall performance he played a ok. Wearside has a habit of getting pissed and showing himself up. But some of the admin are too busy agreeing with him to ban him.
  22. It'd take a nuclear bomb to break his leg.

    St James' Park

When did you see it? Have I missed a pic somewhere?

    Everton, screwed?

Moyes has spent about £8m net since he arrived at Everton.
  25. Don't think anyone wants him there but some think that Pardew will want to keep him in the team at the moment to reward him for his goals before phasing him out.
