The overdraft will be £20-£30m at the end of every season, its paid off at the start of each season and then builds up again during the season to aid cash flow.
-
To be fair if we used the technology Peter Drury wouldn't be running the fucker
-
Can't believe the commentator is even comparing Piquonne's chance with Kalou's
-
Yeah I agree. Like I said in my first post, it was a totally pointless and poorly worded statement from the club.
-
Sorry Happy Face I misread your post. For some reason I thought you're post was in reply to Toons Taylor's post instead of mine Anyway, to what you actually said, I think thats coming about through a misunderstanding on the "no plan for new capital outlay" comment.
-
EDIT: Because I totally misread Happy Face's post Toons Taylor Running the club in a break even manner doesn't just mean being able to cover the normal yearly costs such as wage bills. Surely it would mean putting the club in a position to cover its yearly costs while also having substantial funds left to spend on transfers without needing to borrow. Obviously that kind of thing will take 4 or 5 years to achieve, if ever.

You're missing the fact that the 2010 loss was in the Championship. This season we're guarenteed at least £40m extra revenue from being in the Premiership. There shouldn't be any loss before transfers.
-
There's still no money for transfers. A £32m loss in the Championship will turn into at least a £10m profit in the Premiership, if he's not planning to take that money out he's obviously looking to use it for player recruitment. that leads you to question what "break even" means. is it to be able to run the club without running up any debt (if so your post says we could possibly do that next season) or is it for the club to be debt free in which case it's a lot to be paid off in 4 years. If we take everything they say seriously then it means to not run up anymore debts, as they claim (and I believe them on this one) that they won't be taking money out of the club to pay back his loan.

Not quite: "There is no plan for new capital outlay on players." We can only spend what we bring in, through revenue or player sales. Or that's the current plan anyway.
-
It doesn't have a felt block stuck onto the front of the shirt though, which makes it 100% better then our current shirt.
-
Hmm, what a pointless and poorly written statement.
-
Agree, ability wasn't the main problem, motivation/effort was. Which was caused by a combination of shit managers, chaos at the club and yes some lazy cunt players, not all of them though.

Maybe he's got Tourettes?

You mean their smaller stadium, smaller catchment area, overall smaller commercial viability and resulting smaller turnover? That's part of it, but I also mean their debt. The majority of our debt was a mortgage secured against ticket sales with small structured payments over decades, and its now an interest free loan from the owner. The majority of Portsmouths debt, if not all, is short term (can be called in at any time) and accruing interest all the time. Its far more volitile then our debt ever was and is increasing at an incredible rate. £19m in the last month alone (£119m to £138m) and god knows what it will be by the start of next season or after that when their turnover goes down from £60m to under £20m due to relegation. There's definitely nothing strange about celebrating the fact that we aren't Portsmouth.

I think by the end of last season (June 30th) Ashley's loan had reached £111m. That's purely the money he's put into the club, nothing to do with the money he paid to buy the club. We also had an overdraft of around £35m with the bank. Its worth mentioning however that £70m of Ashley's loan was to pay off the stadium mortgage. Which wouldn't have needed to pay paid off right away if Ashley hadn't taken over. It was secured against season ticket sales and being paid bit by bit over the course of many years.

18, played for the US under 17's team, that's all I could find with a quick search.

As much as your post deserved to be fair. All you need to do is think about it a bit to see the massive differences between Portsmouths situation and ours.

Fuck that I finished work at 10pm I'm not going to sleep yet. If you didn't miss that then some of your comments are a bit baffling. Good night anyway

Oh you answer, you just have a strange way of consistently answering someone's post as if you've skimmed through it and missed most of the key info. You're still doing it now FFS By the way I know I change my posts a lot, I do it all the time, usually at least twice per post
-
I was just trying to be you for a few posts I read you're post, ignored it and posted whatever I wanted to at the time. Thought it must be fun if you do it, not really that fun though.

If you think Williamson has went upto £7 million since we signed him your suffering a classic case of "The Delusional Toon Supporter Syndrome". There's been like 10 posts explaining the idea behind this thread and you still don't get it , do you just not bother to read posts? Maybe I was tad low on Williamson because I dont think they will be selling any players bar Best that signed in Jan. But £7million, still £14 million AC So you don't read posts, glad you cleared that up. Oh I read it You'd accept £1m for Vuckic?, your mental. Where did I say that? Your looking foolish posting tosh like that. Don't agree with you, I think he's class.

I dont have to get anyone in do I & if so why they got be a the same price? If that is case put them all down at £100 million I will sell the lot & rebuild. Guthrie I would look at someone like Steven Davis much better than Adam was at Rangers (not goalscoring though) may have to add little but he would be a improvement imo. Someone as good as Craig Gardner moved for £3.5 million not that long ago. James McArthur has been outstanding for Hamilton for about 3 years now. Loven - I would take a punt on Nugent got 6 PL goals which is not far off Owen & Oba level. Beckford is on free. Kris Boyd is on a free. George Boyd not a out & out striker is on a free. Routledge - I would want to keep him if he went get Pennant. Williamson - Get Loovens. Looked better than Roger Johnson at Cardiff & Johnson was better than Williamson at Wycomb. Williams at Swansea looks a bit tasty. Kadar - Looked good on the box the 2 times I have seen him & he has won shed load of awards this year = Craig Dawson. See what the crack is with Mancienne at Chelsea. But the point of the thread is the fee you couldn't possibly turn down, why snap someones hand off at £2m for Guthrie to pay extra for another player who might not even be good enough, I'd definitely think twice if someone offered me those kinds of fee's. £2m too good to turn down for Kadar?? Yeah & I would look to bring someone better in like Steven Davis or play Barton in the middle. For Kadar? Yeah. He is fourth (fifth when Fitz was at the club) choice, is he going to be mega? I dont think so. Are any of our other CB's that old? No. So why not you would cover yourself with sell on fee as well. No idea if he's going to be "mega" but he has potential, unless we're going bankrupt without a £2m cash injection I see no reason to sell a potentially good young player for a pittance, let along consider it a must sell kind of fee.
