He might have chosen Wigan had we given him the choice, we didn't.
-
Do you know we didn't? Why would it be kept quite. If we'd matched the bid the administrators would have accepted the offer and that would have been made public.
-
Someone mentioned earlier his agent said he has the choice of us and Wigan so I assume we did. I think Sky Sports News and others would have mentioned it if we'd had a bid accepted, we didn't.
-
aye we should but he won't Why? We have signed 4 players so far this window, I have no reason to believe we won't get a striker in even if Moses chose Premiership over Championship (shocker!).
-
Can't believe people are having a go at Moses like. I mean I still believe we'd have had a good chance if we'd matched their offer. But to have a go at the lad for signing for a Premiership side that had an offer accepted for him is silly IMO.

You need to understand where you stand in the football pecking order, its several places below Wigan! The view of a fan from another small town club is hardly likely to be relevant. why ? i'll guess he sees west brom as being below wigan in the pecking order. The difference is West Brom would be behind Wigan in the pecking order even if both clubs were in the same league. i wouldn't think so. Based on what? West Brom have came up and down straight back down again last time out. Wigan have managed to stay in the Premiership for a few seasons and did actually do reasonably well under Bruce. based on that well argued thing of whom you view to be the bigger club. fan base, history etc in which case everyone has their own criteria. Come one, bigger club only goes so far. No doubt West Brom are a bit of a bigger club then Wigan, but for the last few years Wigan have done far better then them.

Yep, be involved in a nasty relegation battle at a club that likely have 4 months left in the Premiership and will then disapear without a trace. Or be involved in a promotion push where he can establish himself and continue to improve followed by a full season in the Premiership at a much bigger club, I agree its a no brainer. You are not promoted yet, you may not be this season, I understand its a hard adjustment to make, you are a big club with fantastic support, but at the moment you are not competing with Wigan, they are a class above you! Can we get this guy banned? He's blatantly a WUM. What has he said wrong there? We are in the championship, they are in the premiership. That is a class above us at the moment. You do realise there are 24 different places in the Championship and 20 different places in the Premiership? Wigan are a little bit ahead of us at the moment due to currently being in the Premiership. But that doesn't mean a player wouldn't consider the future and come here instead.

They have less points now then we had at the same time last year and if they go down I don't see them being able to come back considering how small a club they are. Sorry but I disagree with you. IMO the team at the very top of the Championship isn't that far behind the teams at the bottom of the Premiership and considering we're a much bigger club I don't see the massive gap.
-
You need to understand where you stand in the football pecking order, its several places below Wigan! I think everyone realises we stand exactly 7 places below Wigan, thanks for that info like. Next season we'll stand places above them no doubt, but of course a few months seems to far ahead for some people to see. You're more confident than me like Obviously I am yeah

it proves that that the player has more say in this than just the club whose bid is accepted. There's no need to prove anything. Obviously nobody can force any player to go anywhere, nobody's going to disagree with that. What people will disagree with is the assertion that if the player prefered to go to us he'd refuse to sign for Wigan. He'll be happy enough to sign for either (both are in a better position then his current club). It would take a massive desire on his part to through his weight around if this situation, to be honest if he did I'd be concerned, only a complete twat would do that in these circumstances.
-
But he won't say yes. It's like us putting an offer in for Tevez. It might get accepted, but he wouldn't say yes because he has a better offer. Moses wants to play in the Premier League, and for a decent team. We are/have neither atm. What did he have for his dinner today since you obviously know him so well, what total bollocks you're talking. Bollocks? So you think he would choose the Championship over the Premiership? Get your head out of your arse and you'd see what an unattractive proposition we are right now. I think he might very well choose a team on their way to the Premiership over a team on their way to the Championship. Especially when one is a bigger club that he's been impressed with just days earlier. I think its complete bollocks to say we'd have absolutely no chance based on "their in the Premiership and we aren't". Not every player is quite that thick.

why MUST we ? i'd guess the lad just wants to get into the prem as soon as possible. because we wont be allowed to speak to him unless we do. unbelievable i know thats up to the player. if man utd offered 1million for him do you think he'd say "ah well only wigans offer has been accepted so i guess i'll go therer" no but Man Utd still wont be allowed to speak to him You don't seem to be up to speed on administration. If Moses refused to sign for Wigan, then the administrator would look at the next best offer on behalf of Palace & its creditors, this process would repeated until highest bid on the table & Moses find a match. The human element makes this tricky for a administrator to deal with as they usually operate in a world where best price is king. As I said above I really cant see Moses/Tony Finnegan turning down a offer that is going to be a hell of lot more than he is on now. The lads a Palace fan, as if he's going to totally screw his club It wouldnt be the 1st time Palace have been let down & got less than the market rate for young players: Bostock & Routledge. Surprised no clubs have went for Scannell who was Championship Apprentice of the Year 2008-09. They're already getting screwed mate, they would never have sold this kid for £2.5m normally, they're in a desperate situation where they need money now or they'll go out of business. For Moses to then screw them further simply because he'd prefer to go somewhere else would never happen. Its not as if he's going to be desperate not to sign for Wigan or desperate to sign for us. I'm sure he's happy enough to sigh for either of us.

The lads a Palace fan, as if he's going to totally screw his club by point blank refusing to talk to the only club who's had an offer accepted for him, only an utter c*** would f*** them up even further then they already have been. He'll choose between the clubs that have had offers accepted for him, Wigan are the only club that have so he'll go their, simple as that. more likely he'll choose the prem over the fizzy pop. As if its that clear cut.. seems like it. i've spelled out two or three times how easy it would be for him if he even wanted to hear what we had to say to him (assuming he doesn't already) Oh come on, are you telling me that if the lad prefered to sign for us he'd refuse to sign for the one club that have had an offer accepted and try to force them to accept a lower offer which would then screw his boyhood club even more, a club that are already in admin. Don't talk daft man. For a player to refuse to sign for a team and try to force a lower offer even in normal circumstances would take a massive gap between the two sides. To do it in this situation it'd have to be Wigan vs Barca not Wigan vs Newcastle. IMO if we matched their offer we'd have a good chance, he might prefer to come to a bigger club who is almost guarenteed to be in the Premiership next season vs a smaller one that will likely be relegated this season. That does not mean I think he's absolutely desperate to sign for us, which is what he would take for him to even consider doing what you suggest.

I'm sure he could find another 500k from his £800m fortune.
-
Don't agree like, I still think if we'd matched Wigans bid we'd have a good chance. Well yeah - we were never going to. Nowt to do with Premiership clubs though is it, its not like Wigan have come in and gazumped us. They've just offered the money the administrators were holding out for, a whole 500k more then we offered.

Skybet have started taking bets for Wigan again, at 7/2, we're still 5/4.
