Must win? For West Brom maybe, certainly not for us.
-
Where have you found 2009 wage bills by the way? I know all the wage bills for 2008 due to financial reports but I'd be interested to see any real info on 2009 wages.
-
The average as in all wage bills combined and divided by the number of clubs, however that will be distorted by the massive wage bill of the top four plus Man City (and us to a degree). Most Premiership clubs will have wage bills nowhere near £60m.
-
more probably levy is very tight when it comes to player out fees Levy is also very focused on removing anyone on high wages from the wage bill if they're not seen as first team anymore. Even if he has to sell for less then they're worth. If Keane isn't a first team regular by the end of the season and a bidding war doesn't break out they'll be prepared to let him go on the cheap IMO.
-
If they don't Iphone will have an app for it.
-
Just that I usually buy online with my card but I can't today. Might pop over now and get a ticket then. Or does the club shop in the MetroCentre sell tickets? Because I was going to go there first anyway.
-
When's the earliest I can buy tickets at the ground with cash?
-
Still wouldn't be at all suprised too see Beckford move before January is over. At the end of the day he's still not going to sign a new contract and if Leeds recieve a decent offer they'll sell no matter what announcements they make.
-
From revenue when we're back in the Premiership I assume. They're effectively looking at taking the fans money as a loan, so the club then pays interest on that loan to the fans. When we were in the Premiership before Ashley came in we were paying nearly £10m interest on our loans every season. But what they're proposing is a very low rate of interest in comparison to any normal loan so even a few hundred million pounds from fans would only cost the club a few million a season in interest payments. As to money to run the club, I've said it plenty of times before but this club shouldn't need someone paying for it to survive if its run even half decently. Obviously it hasn't been run even close to decently in a long time. Because of that we've been put in a shitty situation and IF we fucked up promotion then I'd ask the question how they would finance the club, as revenue vs outgoings would continue to be tight. But as long as we return to the Premiership there'll be money enough to run the club (including transfers). Also I assume that after they buy the club (in theory of course) they would continue to sell shares, which would add too our revenue further.
-
Problem is when they finally drop the act there'll likely be more teams willing to pay the £1.5m. As usual though I suppose Ashley just thinks he'll take the risk
-
The pretentious casual attitude from Leeds is hilarious "Ah if we sell we sell and if we don't well then I look forward to having him until the end of the season". Yeah right.. if he hasn't gone by late January they'll be coming to the likes of us and other teams asking if we'll take him for £1.5m.
-
If you're going to remove Given and N'Zogbia from the wage bill then you'd need to add Nolan and Taylor to it. Personally I guessed at our player wage bill as dropping about £26m. Think we should all just wait until the 2009 accounts come out and we'll have a much better idea.
-
They knew Owen, Viduka were out of contract which were the big hitters that drop it to £60m Lovenkrands and Cacapa were out of contract too. Given & Nzogbia were also on the payroll that contributed to the £70m so that drops you to £55m. Not sure about the other £10m like. Happy Face EDIT: Damn it Stu! Given and N'Zogbia left but Nolan and Taylor came in, which would have left the £70m bill pretty much the same. I agree the out of contract players going would drop it to between £55m and £60m, but like you say there's still at least £10m unaccounted for.
-
The first thing that jumps out at me from those figures is the apparent predicted wage bill and predicted player sales. Baring in mind we had a 70m wage bill before we sold those players, how on earth could the club predict a wage bill of £45m while also predicting that we'd sell no players? Also where are they even getting the estimated figures? Has to be there own estimations, which is just guess work. Still at least its a lot more to go on then that last email.

Yet in our next game it'll be proved right again We didn't lose support in two weeks, FA cup isn't included in a season ticket. So no doubt absolutely loads of them decided not to pay extra for a shit game they care almost nothing about in shit weather on a Wednesday night (and with level 7 closed which was an off puter to me personally). Just look at the other FA cup attenances recently, I think every game yesterday came to 30,000 combined. Personally I expected our attendance to be 20,000 and IMO that would have been good in the circumstances.

Evil. Isn't that roughly what Real Madrid did when they were in trouble? Sold their training ground for £200m+ and started renting it for £1 a year or something? Real Madrid didn't sell it to one of their own companies though. If this is true it sounds more like what the Shepherds did when they sold a NUFC owned warehouse to one of their relatives for a a few hundred thousand and then rented it back to the club for twice that amount per year.
-
Are you being serious? They bought the club with a loan that is against the club rather then themselves. They've put none of their own money in and taken no risks at all personally and turned the club from a money making machine into one that bleeds money faster then Abramovich's wallet in the process. For that fantastic job they've taken a £23m fee!, its almost beyond believe, would be terrible if it wasn't happening to such a horrible club.

If buying players only affects the P&L over time (ie spend over the period of the contract), surely the same is the case for selling players? Profits/losses on player sales are shown in the year the player is sold. Example: Player is bought for £8 million on a 4 year contract. The P&L is charged (amortisation) £2 million every year of the contract. If however the player is sold after 2 years for £6 million then the P&L will show a profit that year of £2 million - being £6 million less the written down value of the player of £4 million(8-4). Edit: Just for clarification - once the player has been sold no further charges are made to the P&L and the player disappears from the club accounts. So given what we paid for the players sold in the last 5 months, shouldn't the profit on players in the last 5 months be hefty? Genuine question.... Bassong is bought for £0 on a 4 year contract. The P&L is charged (amortisation) £0 million every year of the contract. However the player is sold after 1 year for £8 million then the P&L will show a profit that year of £8 million - being £8 million more the marked up value of the player of £8 million(8-0). and the other players were Martins Beye and Duff who's combined profit/loss is dwarfed by the size of the bassong deal. Similarly large profits would have been realised on Given, Nzogbia and Milner recently too if I understand you right. No? Absolutely yes, but it'll be a paper profit only, the cash flow will be quite different as the real money from those transfers will come in staggered payments. So to be clear what you need to do when these accounts come out is actually look at the cash flow, not the basic accounts. I bet if you looked at the real cash flow for those accounts for West Brom they'd show something very different to the profit you posted.
-
Most Football clubs can't survive without extra help. We certainly can, but not when we're in the Championship and still paying wages that are high for most Premiership clubs (also remember the money we got for players sold is paid to us in staggered installments, we'll still be getting that money next season and probably the season after that). Big crowds and parachute payments is a great help but until you look at all the costs it won't tell you anywhere near the full story about our current financial situation Once the latest set of accounts come out we'll have a good basis for comparison though. As that will tell us what position we were in before we lost Premiership revenue and cut our wage bill. By the way I didn't say there was no chance at all of any kind of profit by the end of the season, just that I'd be suprised. What I don't believe there's any chance of is the kind of profits you and the NUST are mentioning.
-
NUST told us where the info comes from, problem is it clearly doesn't back up their claim: How can they claim the club is currently making £7m profit per month based on info that they themselves say are only potential figures on return to the Premiership?
-
Have our 2010 accounts arrived a year early like? This is the point I've been making for months. (link 1) (link 2) He doesn't WANT to sell man. Saying he does is how he justifies having a manager with no experience whatsoever and a transfer budget of zero. Its no less wrong now then it was then though. I'd be surprised if we can make any profit by the end of this year, never mind 30 odd million like you predicted (not to mention NUST's mental claims of £7m every month).
-
Fryatts a youngish English goalscorer. Why would Leicester want any less for him?
-
Is blatantly the right answer. Who said anyone would pay it like? Leeds wouldn't want to sell full stop if his contract wasn't running out. So they'd be asking silly money to let him go.
-
As long as we don't sell anyone worth keeping that's ok. Still like to see Beckford here though.
-
Not including you're own comments surely? Come on then, you seem to be avoiding giving an actual opinion here. You tell me just how much Fryatt would cost?
