  1. Supposed to be 25,000 season tickets. I was looking at one today actually but the site won't let me add it to the basket, obviously they don't want to sell them It would however let me add a single ticket for the Reading game, at a cost of... £30.. fuck that!

There is a point if we have nobody of any quality to replace him. Its all fine and well to complain he can't cross or shoot, but if we replace him with a reserve player who can't cross, shoot, beat a player or stretch the opposition then we're in an even worse position.

I seriously doubt Taylor will be going anywhere and I have a feeling Smith might stay, not sure about Jonas. Hopefully we can sell Coloccini and I'd be delighted to see Butt leave the club, also it has to be a priority to remove Geremi from the wage bill. We would then be in a position to more then cover the loss in revenue from being relegated (£25-£30m drop in wages plus 25m-30m in transfer fee's) Thing is them wanting to stay and being able to stay is the problem, if Everton do sell Lesscott hen I reckon Moyes will bid for Taylor, if we get a half decent bid for Smith Ashley will take it. Jonas, Colo and Jose will all jump at the chance to leave if one comes up, all this will happen if Ashley keeps the club he gets money in and lowers the wage bill, ideal for him. If he keeps the club his only aim will to go back up, that's the only way he can get his money back. If we're still in the Championship next year we'll be worth even less then we are now. He's not going to spend big money obviously but I don't believe he'll sell anyone we get a decent offer for either. We were going to get into the top 6 by sticking with Kinnear, selling Given & N'Zogbia and bringing in Nolan & Taylor Aye. The bloke is completely delusional. I wonder if anyone is telling him this kind of thing or whether he's just surrounded himself with yes men. No doubt what Kinnear was telling him. I can't see O'bleary telling him he can sell everyone and still get promotion. He might be a crappyish manager but he's not insane.

Yeah I noticed that, and this: Take a look at him?, that makes no sense at all for a player who's already in the team

Dave The bit about Shearer isn't a conspiracy theory though. Lambias/Ashley both said they wanted Shearer to be manager and they'd asked him to provide them with a plan to take the club forward. Shortly after that Ashley announced he was selling, so what else changed his mind? Shearer has also said himself that he gave them his ideas and was then told Ashley was deciding to sell. Obviously there's some theory in my post, but I wouldn't say its much of a conspiracy like. Certainly not to the level of claiming that he's just pretended to want to sell the club for months so he can do things he could already do anyway. Or that he's not bothered about losing money as long as he can take the club down as far as possible in order to hurt the fans as revenge. Those are the kind of theories I think are nonsense.

Well it wouldn't suprise me if his whole plan was never to sell but to give the impression, sell all the high earners and bring in cheap stock. Then if we get promoted he sells that cheap stock at a profit and he's a hero. I don't see why he'd need to pretend to sell the club to do that though. That's something everyone had already accepted had to be done anyway due to the £40m+ in lost revenue. You've confused me with that last sentence by the way. So he could kill 3 birds with one stone, Fail to buy players during yet another wasted transfer window, rid the club of a manager that has a spine (Shearer) and finally cash in on out going players although this would have had to be done regardless of new owners and has in truth been a long time overdue. But remember all this is more than likely bullshit and just us getting pissed at the fact our club is still sitting in limbo with us remaining both deaf and blind to what is going on, Ashley will be sitting loving it that we the fans that detest him or being put through turmoil.. I agree with the bullshit bit Not a shot at you mind, just I think the conspiracy theories are fucking nonsense. Can't you see why they're coming up though? How do you explain what's (not) happened in the last NINE weeks; is the club suddenly going to jump up in value? Is the squad suddenly going to start ripping the opposition to shreds? Things are getting worse all the time and yet Ashley is still here. That's fucking nonsense. They're just crazy ways to explain something that's pretty simple IMO. IMO the explanation is that Ashley's a horrible stubborn prick who understands nothing about Football. We got relegated, Ashley thought we could sell all the high earners and bring in shit and come back up with Shearer in charge. Shearer told him we needed to keep a decent amount of them AND spend some of the money we got for the rest on some decent young players who could develop into Premiership players. At which point Ashley says fuck it I'm out, someone take the club off my hands for £100m. But people aren't offering £100m, they're offering £75m or £85m or whatever and he won't take it. He managed to swallow making a £150m loss and now he's being asked to take an even higher one and his stubborn nature won't allow him to back down even further then he already has. Meanwhile due to his massive lack of Footballing knowledge he's finally realising something he should have realised at least a month ago, that the club can't be allowed to drift on like it has. That if people aren't willing to pay the £100m now they never will as the club will be in an even bigger mess if more players go and nobody is brought in before the transfer window. So now he thinks he might gamble yet again on putting more money in to cover losses this season, bring in some shit players with a shit manager and hope we can go up. At which point he'll hope to sell for more then twice what he's being offered now.

  14. ungrateful little **** who had heard of him before last year? now everyone is going to be praising arry saying oh where did he find such a player etc and meanwhile i'll be slowly going more and more insane over it They won't like, considering everyone knows where Redknapp got him from and that he's paid big money for him Bassong's obviously a prick and soon he'll be making noises about leaving the Spuds, at least we made a huge profit on him.

I'd say his strengths are that he's quick, has lots of energy, has the ability to go past people with a bit of fancy footwork and doesn't give up on the ball. Of course we all know his weaknesses but I still believe that in the right role and with better people receiving the ball from him he can be a very effective player. At worst he gives us an outlet for the ball and stretches the opposition a bit.
  16. Why? We never looked like scoring two goals yesterday, and with this current squad i don't think we'll score two goals in many games tbh. Duff's chance early on was almost a sitter, as was Nolan's header, Taylor clipped the bar and Ameobi should have done better when he got in behind them a couple of times. I agree we didn't have many clear cut chances (only about 3 I can think of) but against a worse team and at home (and maybe with a couple of better players like Barton and Ranger) there's no reason to think we couldn't get a couple of goals.

The 20m is either in the club accounts or owed to the club though so it hasn't decreased the value. It would only be a problem if the players being sold were seen as important by the potential owners or if we were selling them for under their market value.

We're not going to get a sugar daddy mate, get used to it. I don't expect a sugar daddy but at least someone who can afford the club, I might be naive but this all seems to me like he is going to buy the club and spend the next few years struggling just to pay for it. Trying to get the best deal possible doesn't make someone poor. It just means they aren't crazy spendaholic arrabs.
  19. As long as we can bring in a decent central defender then sell him as soon as possible. I'm unsure Kadar is ready to play even in the Championship, and even if he is we still need backup.
  20. We were suppoed to get tonked weren't we?, after all we're worse then shit and West Brom are favourites to win this great league yes?..
  21. also a Mr Robson re dyer. Didn't Robson bring him on off the bench at home though?, at which point he quickly got taken down a peg or two by the crowd. Was that really a Robson comparison with Hughton? Jesus. Its just a bit unfair on Robson like isn't it
