Some clubs might not be prepared to pay that yet though. They'll check him out during the tournament and make their mind up based on that perhaps. If he scores loads St Etienne will demand at least what the figures being talked about at the moment, and I suppose if he doesn't score m/any it will just be seen as him having a bad tournament and they'll probably still be able to sell him for what they're after for him now. If he has a poor tournemant they may actually get less then they could now.

Lennon is a s*** Kieron Dyer and isn't worthy to be mentioned in the same sentence as Bellamy (sorry Craig for mentioning him in the same sentence)..

How can anyone try to claim these rules don't discriminate against nationality?.. Keegan "Right, under the new rules any number of you English lads can play, unfortunately we're only allowed to pick 5 of the foriegn lads here, but don't worry, this isn't discrimination and has nothing do do with your nationality according to FIFA"
-
Defiantely start what? Being good at International Football.
-
And he can take whatever attitude he wants about your attitude.. that completely pointless argument can go on forever..
-
I agree, if your going to have that attitude then I can't see how you can be bothered with Football in general, how many Newcastle players do you identify with outside of the fact that they play for Newcastle? I don't feel anything towards any of the England players, I don't need to as I'm supporting England, not Frank Lampard ect.. I can understand a certain degree of apathy towards England, especially during friendlies. But to want them to lose, and to the Yanks.. that's sick. Do you identify with the American Football.. sorry Soccer team then Jawesome?
-
This is similar to all the negative s*** going round this forum about Newcastle. Lets all accept we can't compete with Everton and Blackburn mackems.gif Get a f***ing grip, of course England can compete with the teams you mentioned. We have done in the past and we will do in the future. We certainly haven't matched the likes of Italy, France and Germany when it comes to winning competitions, but we can certainly compete with them (and Holland have won less then us as have Spain arguably).
-
one f***ing season One season?.. what are you on about? Out of the 8 teams taking part in the last four Champions League finals five of them have been English teams! With only two Italian teams and one Spanish!
-
Like has been said, if we're going to scout players then we have to follow up on that while its useful. Tonight every club saw a flash of the kind of player Gomis is, and after Euro 2008 every team will have caught up on all the scouting we did on him without leaving there front rooms. Its no good scouting if we're not going to act on it quickly enough. Of course this is all assuming Gomis is a big target of ours in the first place.

there shouldnt be a policy at all though, apart from whether keegan thinks the player will improve the team and will give nufc good value for money, thats all that should matter IMO there should be two budgets. One for Vetere/Wise and one for Keegan. Keegan still has to choose/ok the players Vetere and Wise bring in (there's no way any first team player should ever be forced on a manager), but he also has his own budget he can spend on whoever he see's fit.

We are the worst team in the world, we couldn't even sign a Championship player because even those teams are more attractive.. Lets all commit mass suicide!
-
Now you're scaring me, what didn't make sense?
-
I haven't posted anything in this thread since then so whatever it is you're talking about has nothing to do with the list I posted in here. You replied in other threads. Stop trying to worm out of it.
-
I know, he's lost the plot.. Have you gone back in time Baggio? To a time before you became a compulsive liar?
-
I for one said in a few of my posts to you that one of the reasons I didn't believe you was due to the lists being unbelievable (Keegan wanting Henry ect). You're telling me you just forgot to mention that the lists were only your opinion, your a bullshitter!
-
Oh now I really think you're on a windup Baggio. Not once did you ever say those lists were just your opinion..
-
Disagree with you about Riise, but I guess that's just opinions for you. We've put up with the likes of Ramage, Babayaro, Carr, Edgar (amungst other youth or first teamers played out of position there) being played at left back in recent years. I feel Riise is better than all of them and he offers far more going forward. Him and Enrique battling out for the left back spot would be fine for me, and Riise offering cover on left wing would be good too. The main problem with that is that he's going on 28, would command a decent fee and would want to be first choice despite not being as good as Enrique IMO. For all those reasons I think he'd be a very poor buy.
-
Duff isn't just in poor form, he's finished, its plain to see he's desperately slow now.

"I have had some amazing support from fans, current and ex players, family and friends and I need to thank everyone for that. But I am a big man and I take responsibility for us not winning" What a tosser! mackems.gif

So then that means there is no £13m clause in his contract anymore? No it's gone, the only clubs Martins would entertain however are Arsenal or Serie A. He was going to get offered a pittance by arsenal a third of his current wage. Hey Teasy mate if you want, i'll pack in posting anything, doesn't bother me, I'll keep well and truly stum. No don't do that, I was just having a bit of a joke with that reply to Dave's post, its just that there seems to have been a massive increase in ITK'ness lately and I think the majority of it is bollocks. You might be right, its certainly not out of the question IMO that Martins is on something close to that amount if he has really signed a new contract with the clause removed.

Makes no difference what people originally paid for them. The club was worth around £110 million according to the stock market, he paid £134 million. Paying off debt will increase the potential value of the club (though not neccesarily linearly) , but so will spending loads of money on players. Fact is he's put a lot of money in, and he's already sanctioned a pretty huge bid for a player that we know of over a month before the window has even opened. Just think its bizarre to get on his back about being tight.
-
The price he paid everyone was well over the actual value of the shares, that's before Shepherds little bonus. Try to think before posting, I know its hard with rabbies but just try.
-
He's Football crazy, he's Football mad..... literally.
-
The full extent of the debts weren't known also not everyone wanted to sell so the price he paid for the club was over its true worth. He didn't have to pay all of the debt off either. He could easily have left debt on the club and gave that money to the manager. I suppose then he'd be a generous person..
-
Yeah he only put £100 million into the club in the last 12 months.. tight bastard eh
