On the outside, with no real knowledge of him personally, that's how he comes accross I agree. Still this certainly gives us a chance if the bid is made and Keegan+Shearer both go to speak to him. Keegan can talk about the Newcastle revolution, the others big players we're going for and big things in the near future with his usual ferver while Shearer can just say "I think your the only player who can finally fill my boots as Newcastle number 9, will you do it!". Who knows, as I said I don't think anyone is really expected us to sign Berbatov, mostly due to Manure wanting him. But who knows, we've got more chance then most of getting him..
-
End of the day mate he slept in his Newcastle 'Berbatov number 9' shirt, he dreamt of playing in the same shirt as Shearer and he may just get that chance
-
So why are you using a quote from Bergkamp instead of a quote from Berbatov? Because you have no quote from him that says the same thing, so you use a Berkamp quote as if that's some kind of evidence.. bizarre I don't think anyone on this board is expecting us to sign him by the way. Who knows how much he's changed since back in the Keegan days. But common, lets not be stupid, its obvious he was a fan of both Shearer and Newcastle. If an offer is made and Spurs accept then I can see a possibility there. Keegan with his ability to sell snow to an eskimo as well as the promise of big things to come and talk of a Chelsea style revolution (only less boring). Plus perhaps the offer of giving him the number 9 so he can finally have that 'Berbatov 9' shirt for real, and who knows, he might just take the offer. Also there's the possibility of Shearer giving him a call and meeting up to have a chat about his future

That's because, after looking back at past posts, I've realised I mistook you for someone else I apologise.. Still can't agree at all that Gullit is 100% correct though and frankly even the parts where he could have some point (expectations) are so vague they're completely meaningless.
-
Oh dear, if your going to call me names then at least say it too me, not about me, ok?... For the record I didn't question whether you're a fan because you agree with Gullit. I questioned it because to me you come accross as the most negative self hating excuse for a supporter I've ever witnessed. You're so eager to agree with anything negative about Newcastle that you find yourself agreeing that Roeder was a great coach, that Newcastle are impossible to manage and Spurs are bigger then Arsenal.. Now please, have some balls and actually reply to me next time..
-
And that would have brought us the win? Doubt it very much. ... 0-0 wasn't it? And your point is?..
-
So we could then have the mongs scream "KEEGAN PLAYED ONE UP FRONT!!!" instead... There were two choices and you might as well have flipped a coin to decide, heads Amiobi, tails Carroll.. Fair enough if you'd have picked Carroll, but I find it amazing that some people are having a go at Keegan for playing Ameobi in this situation..
-
Am I happy?, no, am I unhappy, no. Would I be happy with exactly the same under Allardyce, the sad thing is yes I probably would have been... Seven players missing, five of those being first team players. Forced to play a defender in midfield and Ameobi up front, against a side intent on destroying any semblence of Football that came anywhere near the pitch.. should we really have expected a win? At least we did still play some Football, which is what would have made me happy if it was under Allardyce.
-
What?? There was no one else to play up front, who else should he have played? Carroll. Or a wandering stray dog. Because Carroll has been brilliant when he's played? The lads no better then Ameobi at the moment.

-
Best team he could select when you consider the bench is: Steve Harper, James Troisi, David Edgar, Andy Carroll, Kazenga LuaLua That team under Allardyce would be shit, then again any team under Allardyce would be shit. That team under Keegan can win the game.
-
Are you actually a Newcastle fan?, be honest..
-
Can't believe some people are actually agreeing with this idiot. Nobody expects Keegan to get us to 4th this season or to sign Kaka and Ronaldinho. You're Newcastle fans for f*** sake, let the rest of the country believe the rubbish the papers spout, but don't buy into it yourselves. Gullit is a fuckwit, he keeps harping on about "expectations" in that article but he never tells us what these expectations are in his opinion or what he thinks they should be (to be honest he wouldn't have a clue anyway which is likely why he doesn't specify anything). People expect better Football this season now Keegan is hear, that isn't a high expectation.
-
So what's he trying to say here then?: "I wouldn't swap him for any of them (any other PL striker)." Please enlighten us stupid people who think Keane talks complete bollocks..
-
At the end of the day these people are scared by a truly international game that they can't win by default. They have there insular sports where America always wins and that's the way they want it to stay. Of course only in America would people have such a strong opinion about something like this and express that opinion in such an obnoxious and frankly insane manner. I can only imagine how embarrassed sane Americans must be by these idiots..

Are you suggesting we're going to spend £1001 million plus everything the club brings in, therefore leaving Ashley as a lowly millionaire with only 999 million to his name?
-
I know that. But I doubt Keegan would've let it be known to Peter if he was getting anyone in or not, at this stage, as James was suggesting. James didn't say Peter said Keegan told him anything like that, he just (correctly) said that Beardsley suggested its more likely the major deals would be conducted in the summer. Says so during the .co.uk interview. Depends what you consider major deals.. IMO we need to spend £10-15 on a player or two in this window if we're to have any chance of salvaging anything from the current season (by salvaging something I mean finishing in a reasonable position which will put us in a better position to buy players in the summer). £10-15 wont get us much in this day. Elano cost £8 million, a player of his quality would make a big difference for us. Half price because he doesn't really do the business away from home. So you wouldn't take him right now for £8 million then? Also if not doing the business away from home still means he can score and rip a team like ours to peices then I'd be fine with that

Do you know what day it is? Obviously not if you think the windows about to close...

They were dropped years ago. Yeah I know, but from memory I was under the impression they'd caused Beardsley to resign from his post at the time.

Academy eh?, didn't think he'd worked there since those allegations against him. Definitely don't see a job like that affording him any real info on transfer activity though.
