  1. https://www.villatalk.com/topic/16169-prematch-thread/?page=4 I love this stereotype of our support. The first sentance of that post is one of the most ridiculous things I've read. There's a reasonable amount of evidence to back up what he's saying, tbf. We're pretty shite at home and have some really minging results to show that - and the crowd have been either quiet or quick to moan for the majority of the season. Derby was an exception and hopefully the efforts of GallowgateFlags will get them pumped tonight. Really looking forward to this tbh. No idea what the score is gonna be. A win is massive; back to the top and nine points clear of 3rd ahead of what will probably be the pivotal section of the season. Aye our home form is poor in comparison to our great away form. But over a full season our home form alone would still put us on 95 points. I mean we've got almost as many points over 15 games at home as Villa have in their 31 games so far this season, so its a bit of a laugh for one of them to call us "turd" at home.
  2. It been argued a million times, I'm not going to argue it again. What amazes me is that people still feel they need to bite at every mention of it. Nobody can have a go at the way Villa fans acted that day without some fucker feeling they need to tell us all how we shouldn't be bothered because we'd all do the same in their position. It's bizarre to be honest.
  3. Imagine if say, in 3 or 4 years, Spurs were to come here on the last day of the season needing to win to stay up. I reckon we'd do the same. People still trying to justify this shit?, fucking hell, give it up ffs.
  4. But surely wether it's deliberate or not is only relevant in deciding if the player should be punished? It wasnt going in until it hit his hand and you can't score with your hand, so how can it be considered ok as a goal just because he didn't mean it?
  5. Ashley is making a mint out of us and has been from near enough day one. For starters, If he was interested in us being successful then our income would have been maximised instead of as much as he can get away with being diverted elsewhere. Things like stadium sponsorship and club merchandise. There's also the small issue of attaching pretend debt to the club accounts to the tune of £129m and the soon to be added £33m no doubt. All done to put bidders off and allow his exploits free reign. This is also a reason why Rafa and any ambitious type will never have any sort of full control here because once they know the true picture of diverting or missed income opportunity, they'll be on it like a short. He's making a mint?.. can you explain that in financial terms please? Because being relegated twice doesn't make you a mint like. The "fake debt" you're referring to are basically losses covered. I mean I get the whole "you can't owe debt to yourself" thing, but the fact is that debt is still money spent to cover losses. I mean the blokes a cunt yes, would I like him to suffer a heart attack? yeah I would. But the stuff you're coming out with is a fantasy.
  6. Would definitely prefer to watch Mitrovic than Murphy, but can't fault Rafa for going with Murphy considering the form he's in.

Well yeah, we need another creative outlet. Not just for when he's injured but at home where he's often fairly successfully negated. He's never negated like, we're always worse without Shelvey.

. Just say we're Tottenham, they'll let us sign him next Saturday.
  9. Aye that would be crazy, I mean not only is he past it, he's not even our player anymore..

You don't get it, the comparison is ridiculous. We want a couple of players, comparatively Villa desperately needed players. We want Premier League players, Villa will take anyone who can improve them from the god awful position they're in. Its a silly comparison.

Well yeah but Villa really needed to buy, they're 13th and 22 points below us FFS. If we needed to buy that much and didn't then I'd be livid. But right now, while I'd like to see us improve, I wouldn't be distraught if we waited till the summer.

Then that's the end of that I'd say. Just a suggestion, who knows, but IF that was the case I'd say he can go and f*** himself to be honest. I agree if it is but all the reports have suggested that he is keen to come - everything points to the fact that Ashley has a new crane to lift him back up and is trying to play football manager again - we will see but I will be very surprised if anyone comes in by tomorrow of any stature. If he was keen to come why would we not just pay the £13m and get the deal done? If there's a loan fee which we don't want to pay then that would suggest it's Townsend that wants it to be a loan deal initially. I reckon it's us who won't commit to the £13m and want a loan in case we don't go up. While we all think we'll go up i suppose paying £13m and getting a player in on Premiership wages would be a risk, if we then didn't go up. Good point. Weren't earlier reports saying it was Townsend who wanted the loan first?

Townsend may not want to commit to it.

He's never looked like a Footballer to me like.
  16. McCarthy cost £13m 3.5years ago before the transfer market massively inflated. Any competent Premier League player is going to cost a minimum of £15m now. Just look at the daft money Palace are spending on mediocre players. McCarthy has actually played very well this season since getting his fitness back too. Previous two seasons he was pretty poor and we'd have probably snapped your hand off for £16m. Especially pre-takeover. I suspect £20m would get it done if McCarthy wants to leave. Otherwise, I think Koeman would be happy to keep him in the midfield rotation regardless of the sums offered. Premier League prices are crazy but the only solution is to buy from elsewhere. I know prices are crazy like but I can't agree that any competent Premier League player has to cost a minimum of £15m. But aye like you say prices are very inflated and the only way to avoid it is to buy from abroad.
  17. Cullen Crisp Senior, dangerous drug dealer and all round thoroughly scary badey. Expected Arnie to turn up at St James Park when we signed him. http://application.denofgeek.com/pics/film/list/schwarzenegger/14.jpg
  18. What a utter scrote sack. Looks like Jamie Carragher Looks like Crisp from Kindergarten Cop.
  19. Are there no games on any TV channels tonight?? I mean apart from the obviously unmissable Barrow vs Lincoln City...
  20. Going up is obviously the main thing. But, Brighton beating us to the title.. fuck that shit.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-only-willing-loan-andros-9651438 He's failed to justify his price tag but they want their money back Aye as much as I find it funny that they want a fee they don't feel he's worth I'd still pay £13m if we had to. I think he'd be worth that for us, now and in the future when we go up.
  22. Benitez is way above our station at the moment, but he's here because he believes we can go straight back up and fulfill the clubs potential. Hopefully he can convince players like Deulofeu of the same thing. Not the same thing in the slightest. I'm saying that while the club currently are at Championship level our manager's reputation is above that. As a manager he's not below the likes of Deulofeu and he may be able to persuade him of the same thing he himself believes, that we have the potential to be a top club.

  24. Things aren't going to well and a tabloid just happens to come out with a disruptive article, well I'm fucking shocked We'll see very soon if any of it is true, because our manager wouldn't accept that kind of interference. My bet is its nothing but opportunism. We haven't signed anyone in January so its very easy to play on peoples fears to sell papers.
