  1. He probably is better than Elliot, its not his potential ability I'm questioning, its his lack of match practice that worries me most. I hope he can prove his quality obviously, I'd just have much prefered the safe option. A keeper I know will be ok rather than a unknown quantity who might be good or might let the ball under his hands.
  2. I really hope a few days training in the first 11 will make him less nervy but I'm not hopeful unfortunately
  3. Saying? said hes now had a handful of games and its about time he showed some results, nothing better than carver or McClaren yet. Two fingered mutant, definitely a mackem then.
  4. Exactly. Darlow was thrown in at WBA having only played in a League Cup game vs Northampton and turning out for the stiffs. Hardly ideal. He certainly can't be as bad as Jack Alnwick. Aye but now he's going to be thrown into a absolutely must win relegation 6 pointer. Doesn't really matter much if he's going to be good given time, its all or nothing on Saturday, a nervy keeper is the last thing we needed. This really is horrendous news.
  5. Eventually if he decides he can be bothered to play for us than maybe he could be useful. But the thing is, we don't want players who we know for a fact will turn to shit when you need them most. Not even Benitez coming in has had any impact on him.
  6. Since Benitez came in we've managed not to fall apart after conceding a goal. Stayed in the game right till the end against Leicester, against Sunderland we equalised and looked like the team most likely to win it. Obviously I hope we go ahead, but if we do go behind then I'm confident we won't fall to pieces.
  7. Rafa has undoubtedly told him not to break forward as often. But his attacking threat had gone to shit before he came in. He's not a terrible crosser of the ball either, not from watching him for the first year and a bit here. Just looks to me now like he wants to get the ball and get rid of it, no conviction on the cross or in what he's doing in general.
  8. Well you either go through life not listening to much or watch a different Daryl Janmaat than me. He's done absolutely nowt going forward for a while now. His crossing these days is the very definition of going through the motions. No energy anymore to try to beat a player or drive forward either, just hang about on the wing, get the ball and float a hopeful ball in. Was quite telling that Anita put a far better ball into the box in the limited time he was on the pitch at right back than Janmaat did in the 71 minutes he was on the pitch in the same position.
  9. He's one of the reasons we are where we are, a big reason. He's either not there to defend or can't defend when he does actually find himself at right back. Going forward was his plus point but apparently when the going gets tough he hides instead of steps up, which isn't what a top player does at all. So no he's not good enough to play for a bigger club than us. Hope to god that once a defender or two comes back Rafa drops him out of the squad and leaves him out, the fucker has no soul, just drifts along going through the motions.
  10. I doubt Janmaat would even be there to defend a header even if he was "playing". But aye hopefully we've got enough defenders back to play someone else there, Mbemba or Taylor.

Norwich have 3 goals more than us and have played a game more.
  12. Even if we stay up Benitez might just say "Sorry, either it all changes or I'm gone." I wouldn't blame him for doing so now. If that happens then there should correctly be a lot of vitriol aimed at the owner. Once again though, that probably won't happen. Honestly, and I've thought this since the appointment, I think if we stay up he'd go because the club would want rid of him. He's far too much of a threat for them. They've brought him in to get them out of the shit (ten games too late btw - typically, trying to do things on the cheap and gamble on SMc) and, if he does, they'll let him go. In the Championship, there is no way they would pay him a premiership salary so he'd be off anyway. It's a crying shame though because a proper owner/board with just an ounce of ambition would talk him into staying by convincing him to use the season to sort out his side, structure the club and get the systems right for returning to the big time. John Hall (or, dare I say, FS) would talk him into it, no problem. Three year contract already signed though, which is only breakable if we're relegated. That's what was reported at the time anyway, have I missed something new about the terms of the deal?
  13. To be honest he hasn't been good going forward for a while anyway. He gets there but shows little to no effort and his crosses are simply him going through the motions, no conviction at all.
  14. Aye and the ref actually stopped the game himself there, didn't know cramp was a potentially life threatening condition.
  15. Fucking terrible these days like, instant improvement as soon as Anita replaced him.

We'd need to beat Norwich 3-0 to go above them, 2-0 would give us the same goal difference as Noriwch but they'd still be ahead of us by one more goal scored.
  17. Is supersuperal one of ours like? I don't keep up with all this crystal palace forum baiting Going to go on their myself if we manage to get out of the shit, but until then I can't enjoy is fully
  18. He's the same bloke who had them 5th, so now they're 16th he must still be doing his job properly.. what??
  19. The linesman's looking right across the line and their's not a chance he can see any of our players on the other side of Vardy. Tough call or not its offside and I guarantee its given offside against us.
  20. They scored a offside goal, of course nowt matters other than 1-0 though, might as well bring McClaren back eh? Wasnt actually offside according to some ref on Sky (Dermot Gallagher I think) Really?, what was his reasoning for that then?, Vardy has different rules applied to him than the rest of the league, only his left foot needs to be onside?
  21. They scored a offside goal, of course nowt matters other than 1-0 though, might as well bring McClaren back eh?
  22. Unlucky not to get a point. Looked far more organised than usual and their goal was quite clearly offside. Still certain players haven't changed, Sissoko for instance is a fucking calamity. Either wasting possession or actively getting in the way of our own players (Mitrovic would have had a clear scoring opportunity had he not got right in front of him). Also Janmaat just goes through the motions, never looks like he's really crossing with any intent, just hopeful "I tried" balls into the box, same with his passing.

    Steve McClaren

Aye, he tried to turn things around but the recruitment policy made him consistently pick Jack Colback and forced him to inexplicably drop Mitrovic for Riviere in a must win game. Oh wait, did it fuck! Proper cockends obviously if they were limiting what he could say and recruitment should have been better, but McClaren was ultimately.to blame for results.
