  1. If Matt Targett is there number one target on transfer deadline day this lot should just kill themselves.
  2. Not allowed to answer a question seriously about finances or you're championing the balance sheet, fuck off ffs
  3. nah? think we are fairly low spenders on wages iirc It was £74m when last reported, its all relative of course and that's no doubt low compared to the top Premier League teams. But at the time of reporting it was above mid table as far as Premier League wage bills go. We don't know for sure where it stands right now, but obviously its still going to be much higher than the other two sides that came up and in comparison to sides like Bournmouth (reported at £33m at the same time) and Watford (£41m at the same time).
  4. Benitez won't sell without a replacement. Until I see evidence that we're willing to sell players out from under Benitez this is bullshit IMO.
  5. Yep - for me this is one of the worst windows as we've a world class manager and yet we are just flushing this opportunity down the toilet. Flushing what opportunity down the toilet? The only opportunity here is for the club to spend even less on the squad BECAUSE we've got a world class manager. Everything's going exactly as we all thought it would. Gayle will be gone, we'll get someone in on loan to 'cover'. Welcome to supporting Newcastle Direct. That's a choice, we have plenty of opportunities, unfortunately the club is owned by a fucking moron, so he chooses to piss every good opportunity down the drain.
  6. This is all coming from a guy who thinks he's played two premier league games To be fair those appearances come to a total of 30 full games in minutes on the pitch, and he scored 15 goals in those games, which is a excellent record. So he can certainly score in this league when given time on the pitch in the right setup. I just don't think he gives enough to the team to be our main striker.
  7. I've never thought Gayle, in the system we play, would work in this league. Nowt do to with the first two games. I'm not even sure it would work in any system with the players we have at our disposal. So if Benitez wants to sell him and bring in someone better suited no problem. But obviously it has to be his decision.
  8. Didn't they pay 10m Euro's for him, and since then he's been proper shite for them? EDIT: Oh so they will sell but the manager wants a replacement first.
  9. So if he plays in the Championship again it would be ok?
  10. He barely fucking moves his arm, hardly a brutal attack like is it? Not to mention its dealt with by the ref, FA making up the rules as they go along yet again.
  11. Its Perez fault? Perez managed to link up fine with Joselu on Saturday. Gayle moves plenty, its just not very intelligent movement outside of a good instinct for getting in behind a defence (shame we rarely have the ability to play him in).
  12. Gayle is a good goal scorer when he's being provided with chances, but he offers little to the team and doesn't create anything for himself. Thats ok when you can dominate teams easily (Championship), as he'll nick lots of goals. But when most teams are as good or better than us we need everyone involved just to create chances. With him in the side we struggle as a team against any decent side, create very little and that renders him useless, it even happened plenty of times last season against the better Championship sides. For the way Rafa wants to play we need a different player, especially in this league. Someone who can score but also has better movement and can get involved in team play more.
  13. Colback was terrible even in the Championship though.
  14. More to do with the fact that having him up top alone means we struggle to keep the ball and build up any momentum. If he doesn't convert the one or two chances he gets per game he offers very little.
  15. FM don't really work in real life. Absolutely no reason it shouldn't work financially for both sides in certain cases.
  16. Since when did Ryan Taylor ever have a good first touch or good balance? Great free kick taker, but shite otherwise like.
  17. Always thought De Jong could be a good player but he's never fit and even when he is Rafa doesn't seem to fancy him so get rid if it means we can bring people in. I mean there are others I'd prefer to go first but they're apparently far to shit to sell so..
  18. Think once Merino is seen as up to speed by Benitez he'll be a regular and definitely improve the first team, I mean Colback was in our first team most games last season. Given a bit more time same goes for Murphy IMO.
  19. Mitro is not "decent" in the air, like. Is everyone else in the squad just horrendous in the air then?, because he's our best in that department offensively.
  20. A player with good control, technique and awareness should be pretty useful against teams sitting deep and asking us to break them down.
  21. Let's just quietly forget about Sels, Laazar and Gomez I assume you mean Gamez?, who Benitez signed for almost nowt (or was it actually nowt?) as cover and was available all season as cover, so nothing at all wrong with that signing. Sels was a mistake as was Lazaar apparently. But if making two mistakes out of like 15-16 signings means a manager doesn't know his stuff then good luck finding a single manager ever who did.
  22. Fuck off man, Murphy would be abysmal in the Premier League. He seriously struggled with his overall game in the Championship, but did manage to pop up with some important goals. At Premier League level though he'd be completely unacceptable. His record is about a goal every 2 games (look at minutes played not just appearances), the real question hanging over him for me isn't his goal record but why he seems to get so little time on the pitch. Either way that doesn't justify the idea of instead keeping a 35 year old who moves like a bus and has never scored a single goal in the Premier League. You also said he's scored 36 goals since 2009, he didn't even really get started till 2012, either way 36 goals in 128 appearances (89 full games in minutes on the pitch). Like I said for me its not his goal scoring record which is the worry. Its the fact that at Stoke he seemed to get only fleeting appearances, then went to Depor where he only got fleeting appearances.
  23. Not surprised at that, Behrahino had been a massive pain in the arse. At West Brom aye, but he was supposed to be Stokes main striker, considering they paid £15m for him in January. Yeah, but even for Stoke he's been a pretty disastrous signing. Can't imagine why they wanted him so much TBH, especially not after the West Brom circus. If you think our striking options are limited, try being Stoke City. Aye, that's whats funny. He's done far less than Joselu for Stoke yet he's being persisted with and Joselu is out on loan and sold for £5m. Remember when Berahino was going to potentially sign for us for £20m+ and people were excited about it? Glad its gone wrong for that little fucker to be honest.
