why do we care about the fee? Still can't get an answer on this. In general it shows how he's valued within football Don't care about the fee on this one personally. Because I don't think its a crazy fee considering the market and it looks like we still plan to spend more regardless. But in general fees absolutely do matter to some degree and I can never understand the argument that they're totally irrelevant.

Different situations like, loaning players out of course you want them to play ever game, and Ashley was in a position to enforce that with his shares in Rangers. Can't see us offering that kind of assurance to a player we bring in though (with Ashley being very bonus orientated this would be completely against that philosophy) let alone a free transfer.

A lot of shots and possession no doubt, though the majority of those shots were hopeful long range efforts that never looked like troubling our goal. I'm not denying you's had much the better of the game and a few clear cut chances. Just you made it sound like Krul had to make great save after great save, think he made 2-3 really good saves. Probably half of those shots on target never even reached Krul. Definitely very one sided in possession but you really didn't break us down enough, I've seen more one sided matches to be honest.

To be fair IF the new midfield works well and we signed a good striker and center back (which he's assuming) then the squad would look a hell of a lot better. That doesn't mean McClaren could get it into a European spot of course.

Shelvey basically has no defense. Those who think Shelvey and Saivet could make a good partnership and bring us better results need to realize this hugely depends on how many goals we can score because now the protection for our back four is non existent. Compared to the brick wall that is Colback & Anita? You will realize a paper is better than an air very soon. Saivet plays defensive midfield and from the little I saw is very capable of sitting in front of the defence and protecting it.

i know were awful but i still think that is massively risk odds to offer Skybet were offering Mitrovic first and 2-0 at 135/1 That's huge. I might get on that I wish I had now, they've dropped it to 110/1. Same for Perez first and 2-0. BetVictor are still doing 125/1 on Mitrovic and 2-0 though.

Aye I don't think we'll look to sell Sissoko in January. Wasn't it reported that we've offered him a 1 year extension with a pay rise so we can get a good fee for him after the Euro's?

Must be bull shit, as If that would require any consideration It would as he's the only player currently at the club who is remotely physically capable of doing the job of a defensive midfielder without a running partner to cover for lack of ability to cover ground quickly. It's a good fee though, and we must be hoping that Saivet will provide the same qualities once he's sold. Aye but him actually being in the side requires another defensive midfielder to cover all the times he gives the ball away in dangerous areas. He really is a unbelievable liability in the majority of games.
