  1. True, but the 4 goals those players in particular contributed to in the First Leg should have been enough to get us into the next round, regardless of how they played on Thursday night.

they did not earn the right to play so badly, letting themselves, their team mates, the club and the fans down.

they are also culpable for the loss - they gave the ball away an incredible amount of times, putting unacceptable pressure on the defence.

  2. I know we should of got through to the next round in the uefa cup, but we would of got Werder Bremen anyway so not much chance there, he has had to deal with the biggest injury list in the history of the EPL and has still got arguably our best striker out, along with our only other definitive striker in Ameobi. If GR proves his worth in this Summers transfer window then i think there is a chance he will be forgiven, once we get back Owen and Ameobi + Martins and possibly a new striker, we will have the strikeforce to scare any EPL defence, our midfield is very strong and with rumours that Sidwell is going to join for free in the summer is just going to improve it even more, especially if Emre leaves. GR has already expressed his determination to get defenders in during the summer and it looks like Bramble is going to get axed and finally FS has said GR has his full backing in the transfer window, so GR will not have the excuse of their was no money available.

I hope some of you agree with what i have said here let's support the lads until the end of the season, wait and see what GR can do in the summer and bear in mind he has bought one of europes best strikers in Martins for 10m could the biggest coup of last summers transfer window in Damien Duff for 5m which any manager would of taken although that seems to have backfired on him and seems to have pulled off quite a big coup in getting Gooch for us when supposedly the majority of Europes Elite had been rumored to be interested in signing him. So please don't lose faith, because however much i have been hurt by yesterdays loss i still haven't

there is some shite posted on this forum, but that is amongst the least valid, most nonesensical pile of garbage i have ever seen. pathetic.

  3. = I don't blame the defenders and have been saying this for ages. =

Of course, it's all Martins, Dyer, Sibierski's fault, etc. that defenders can't win headers, tackles, make stupid errors, etc.

no- but it IS some of those players faults that THEY were bloody awful. the defense weren't the only ones who disgraced themselves.

  4. Ben Haim

    Distin

    Curtis Davies

    Wes Brown

    Lucas Neil

    Anton Ferdinand(Roeder likes him)

I think we will probably sign someone from the above

    lucas neil is vastly overrated.

as for getting one Roeder likes, that'd be a bad thing, as getting rid of the manager is as much a priority as getting competent players in.

  5. the simple fact is that the sooner we get a decent manager in, and get rid of dross like Bramble, Babayaro and Ameobi. the better.

the manager can blame anyone he likes, but ultimately, he's the one who has failed to get the required players in, who picks the team and tactics, and who is ensuring we remain shit.

  6. Whatever, we both agree he's shite. Not worth arguing about the details really, is it?

Not really, no, he's so shite it doesn't matter about detail.

I hope to god all of the "keep him as a back up" fans have shut up for good now.

  7. he didn't DO anything, not a thing. But he TRIED, and he grafted. But there was no end product.

And he WAS shite woth the set piece thing.

  8. if bramble cut the mistakes out his game he wud be good. taylors never goin to be good

Get to fuck. He's rubbish, slow, and thick as fuck.

He's pretty quick actually, unless you mean his speed of thought.

I meant both. And speed of reaction. So thats actual pace, speed of reaction and speed of thought. All 3 let him down for the 2nd goal last night.

He's got plenty pace. The other two let him down for the 2nd goal with actual running speed being a negligible factor in that instance. I'm not defending him btw.

His pace is not good, mate. I reckon shearer coudl outpace him. Now.

  9. IMO....

martins only bettered by rooney and drogba

    owen only bettered by rooney

ameobi only bettered drogba, rooney, henry and kite

sibs bettered by everyone except fowler and adeboyor

    hahahahahahaahaha.

Ameobi better than Shevchenko, Kalou, Saha, Bellamy, the Arsenal foreigns....hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahha. Thats comedy gold, that.

  10. if bramble cut the mistakes out his game he wud be good. taylors never goin to be good

  11. Man Utd - Rooney, Saha, Smith, Solskjaer

Arsenal - Henry, Aliadiere, van Persie, Adebayor

Chelsea - Drogba, Shevchenko, Kalou, Wright-Phillips

Liverpool - Kuyt, Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler

Toon - Martins, Owen, Dyer, Ameobi

rooneys only forward for man utd better than martins or owen, saha is more or less about the same as martins.

henrys only arsenal forward better than owen or martin, and i would say van persies about the same as martins.

chelsea- drogba and sheva only forwards better than ours. kalou rubbish and wright philip right winger.

Liverpool- our best 2 for wards r better than theirs.

so overall i would only say only chelsea have the better strikers, and arsenal and man utd arent that much better apart from they have henry and rooney that r world class

Dyer is NOT a striker, for the last time, same as SWP isn't.

jesus, Owen and MArtins aren't THAT good.

  12. if bramble cut the mistakes out his game he wud be good. taylors never goin to be good

  13. It was very disappointing because, although AZ were better on the night and deserved to win, I wasn't that impressed with them.

Dyer is far more effective playing down the middle, either as a withdrawn striker or attacking midfielder. He ended up drifting inside to try and make things happen, and while I don't blame him for trying to get involved (particularly as no-one else was producing anything), it messed up our shape.

Eventually Roeder realised the need to play Dyer inside, but he didn't want to bite the bullet and abandon the tactic of hoofing it on to Sibierski's head. The result was our shape got worse after the substitutions.

All we needed was one goal, and we ought to have got it. Their defence wasn't any better than the one that showed up at St James's. Overall, I think Roeder has done a good job, but he got it wrong last night.

How has he done a good job?

Transfers - why did he completely ignore our most desperate requirements.

    Tactically - inept

Substitutions - NOT PATTINSON YOU ARSE!

    Motivation - seemingly zero

he didn't ignore them but was unable to get what he wanted/needed....unlike some previous managers who if they couldn't get the right one would just get anyone.right one or anyone, you decide ?

He was unable to get what he wanted?? WE HAVE NO LEFT BACK. ANd a championship centre back. If he couldn't find what he needed, he should be taken outside and shot, because thats a core function of his job. The f****** idiot.

finding and getting are two seperate things...yet again i'll ask,do you want us signing more sub-standard players for the sake of it or wiating to get someone you want ?

We don't even know he tried. Funny, he managed to find a player we DIDN'T need, but not soem we did. He had 2 windows, and he did fuck all. Not good enough.

Oh, and MANY MANY players are better than Babayaro and Shambles, so if he couldn't attract one, fuck him.

and the manager is the only factor in whether a player wants to come to a club isn't it

Its HIS job to get the players, so its his fault he didn't. Its impossible to defend his piss-poor transfer record regarding players we NEED.

He's a dogshit manager, and has fuck all draw to decent players. Martins is going to be giving his agent a kicking soon enough.

  14. I think Van Gaal might fancy the challenge and we'd pay him a canny bit more than Alkmaar. Doubt he's even on Shepherd's radar though in any case.

someone said theyre paying him shitloads, can't see why the fuck he would want to come here

For the money and the challenge, possibly. Like I said though, I can't see it happening. I'm struggling to think of why anyone decent would want to come here tbh. I don't believe they've got more financial clout than us though.

....if we wait Rijkaard and Benitez will be out of jobs in the summer.

    wrong.

Rijkaard will go back to national coach and Benny is going to Spain. Hiddink is coming to Chelsea and Moaney to Italy. ALL FACTS.  ;)

So how will they be out of jobs?

    Now you're being pedantic.

....Rijkaard might be swayed Dutch national team runs itself.

National side vs average-sized mid table English side?

    Ooh, tough choice.

And not pedantic at all - neither of them, by your won admission, will be out of a job.

  15. Frankly I think the only reason it might look like an over-reaction to some, is because of the complete under-reaction by many.

I still don't understand why so many people just shrug their shoulders and say, "That's Newcastle for you", when we are a club who's financial and supporter strength is as good as or better than most clubs in the world who dominate their respective leagues.

If you accept mediocrity, mediocrity is what you will receive.

but there's no way out of the situation we're in - fans can sing shepherd out and roeder out all they want and get on message boards kicking off but at the end of the day the first guy runs the club and dictates the future of the second guy....

it's no use believing that making noise will push the board members to oust shepherd 'cause that won't happen 'til they stop getting dividends, the dividends become very small, or we're headed for relegation

it's no use believing that shepherd will sack roedebot 'cause he won't for the simple fact Glenn will do what he says, never criticise shepherd, and again unless we're headed for relegation there's no catalyst for change at that level

accepting mediocrity doesn't come into it anymore, accepting the reality of where our club is does

You're wrong there - putting pressure on the Fat Man is the best way of getting shot of Roeder - Fatty will sacrifice anyone before he falls on his own sword.

  16. Frankly I think the only reason it might look like an over-reaction to some, is because of the complete under-reaction by many.

Exactly. And i hope to fuck not one NUFC fan is giving it the "give Roeder time" shite that a number of idiots on this site gave when we had Souness.

I actually believe that Souness was more likely to win a trophy than Roeder ever will be, although that was likely to come at the expense of poor league form.

Neither of them would win fuck all with us, they are both too entrenched in their own stupidity and bad decisions.

  17. Do you really think we would have won last night even if Bobby, Souness, Keegan, Gullit or Dalglish were in charge? I don't.

We have alway been good at shooting ourselves in the foot, and gifting goals to oppositions. It's just the Newcastle way.

I think we COULD have won last night, yes.

If we didn't have that fucktard Roeder as a manager, we could have done it. It wasn't pre-destined.

  18. Duff deserves singling out.

If I was manager, I would have announced on live television that I expected Duff to pay back the fans for not only their tickets, but also their travelling expenses. Hell, I'd probably even make Duff compensate them for having to even watch such dross.

Martins on the other hand was completely unsupported by his team-mates, although I felt he could have pressed the opposition more last night, but it looked like he had been instructed not to.

Martins was poor in general, and his control of the ball almost nonexistant. but then, only fools have been saying he's the finished article.

  19. I think Van Gaal might fancy the challenge and we'd pay him a canny bit more than Alkmaar. Doubt he's even on Shepherd's radar though in any case.
