I'd be surprised if he didn't go back to 3-4-2-1/5-2-2-1, but I'd like to see the 4-2-3-1 to get Lascelles out of the team and to see Joelinton given a run in his best position under a good manager. That three behind Wilson could be very fluid and it gives us an aerial target, which we sorely lacked on Saturday.

Sheff Utd, Cardiff, Leeds, QPR, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, and I'm done.
  3. What’s wrong with Big River, like? Or is it Nail?
  4. Just a nod of appreciation to the boy Craig Hope, who posted this back on 14th October. I think this was the first official link:

Bumpety bump. Can't wait to belt my old favourite out again: E I E I E I O, UP THE PREMIER LEAGUE WE GO, WHEN WE GET TO EUROPE, THIS IS WHAT WE'LL SING: WE ARE GEORDIES, SUPER GEORDIES, EMERY IS OUR KING!
  6. Tend to agree. It's probably the most Rafa-esque appointment we could make in terms of philosophy, attention to detail, and reputation. However, it's also someone familiar with working under the sort of structure that it seems we'll be implementing, which it's unlikely Rafa would've been too happy with in the long-run. Very exciting and ticks all of the boxes, really. Also bodes very well for trusting the decision-making of the consortium, IMO. Let's hope this isn't a false dawn and he's announced imminently. Howay the fucking lads.
  7. Very interested to see how Emery handles him and how ASM responds to the structure of the team becoming the focal point.

  9. Antero Henrique. He's been linked to the Sporting Director role here, along with everyone else.
  10. Would he need to if we had a proper sporting director / chief exec?
  11. Not having this, mind. KK part two was class for a spell, despite the ownership. Rafa would be coming back under what should be significantly better ownership.
  12. How can you go from being the best manager we’ve had since Bobby to being “finished” in a few years, though? He’s made two highly questionable career choices in a row mind, no doubt about that.
  13. They’re singing Fat Spanish Waiter at him. His own fans.
  14. Sacked in the morning, hired in the afternoon.
  15. Seems like it’s narrowing down to: Fonseca Favre Martinez Howe Lampard Presuming the media know anything at all, of course.
  16. That was a Spurs with an established leadership structure and much more pulling power than us, like. They had Paratici already committed too, whereas we’ve got nowt on the DoF/Sporting Director front. Is it not just clear at this point that Staveley and Reuben have been doing all the initial legwork before presenting their final shortlist to PIF? That shortlist might contain both managers and DoFs/Sporting Directors, so it’s understandable that it would take longer than normal. I’d have liked an instant hire, but we also didn’t have the benefit of being able to tap people up. It’s clear Spurs would only have sacked Nuno after sounding Conte or whoever out to avoid another farce.
