  1. Seems like it’s narrowing down to: Fonseca Favre Martinez Howe Lampard Presuming the media know anything at all, of course.
  2. That was a Spurs with an established leadership structure and much more pulling power than us, like. They had Paratici already committed too, whereas we’ve got nowt on the DoF/Sporting Director front. Is it not just clear at this point that Staveley and Reuben have been doing all the initial legwork before presenting their final shortlist to PIF? That shortlist might contain both managers and DoFs/Sporting Directors, so it’s understandable that it would take longer than normal. I’d have liked an instant hire, but we also didn’t have the benefit of being able to tap people up. It’s clear Spurs would only have sacked Nuno after sounding Conte or whoever out to avoid another farce.
  3. They took over two months to replace Mourinho in the summer, mind.
  4. If they're trading Nuno for Conte then it's hard to argue with that as a decision. I doubt he'd ever seriously consider us at this stage.

So bad it’s almost good, that Used to like Overmars, and what a team he played in at Arsenal.

That was the other reason for this thread being created tbh.

Nah. It’s a piss take when you’re expecting to see news about a hot topic and instead have to wade through dozens of irrelevant posts.

    The old days

Been a few cracking discussions about the good and bad old days of NUFC and football in general lately, but unfortunately they’ve been sidetracking other threads. Thought it might be time to make a new thread for all of our reminiscing needs. First topic of interest: was Asprilla to blame for us throwing away the title in 95/96? Some say no, some say yes.
  10. I hope not! There’s no way Clark should be playing on recent form. Less bothered about Ritchie, as he’s at least got a bit of leadership about him. If Miggy doesn’t start I riot (moan).
  11. That was the only one I wasn't sure about. I'd prefer Willock, personally, but unsure he'd be trusted in a deep two. I'd probably pick Longstaff ahead of both if it was me for a game like this.
  12. Dubravka Manquillo Schar Lascelles Fernandez Lewis Hayden Shelvey Saint-Maximin Almiron Wilson SUBS: Darlow, Clark, Murphy, Ritchie, Willock, S. Longstaff, Fraser, Joelinton, Gayle.

  14. Didn't realise we had such expertise on the forum. Thanks for the insight.
  15. SaudiSportsNewz is my go-to source for everything NUFC.
  16. This is ultimately the problem with talking heads, though. It inevitably turns into them speaking on behalf of everyone else rather than just on behalf of themselves or their organisation. It’s gotten so far away from what it all started out as, but the ego is a powerful thing. This shouldn’t have been published.
  17. “Criticism was based on his record and his ability,” Tomlinson says. “None of it was personal.” This just isn’t true at all, either, at least for me. I criticised the awful cunt based on his record and ability, but it was definitely personal as well.
  18. At what point does Greg become open to criticism as well? Past efforts not at all forgotten or ignored, but it’s becoming harder and harder to separate him and Hurst these days. Neither of them speak for me, and I certainly wasn’t desperate for Bruce to succeed. Unless I’m not considered a fan? ”Every single fan has been desperate for him to succeed. An expectation of failure is something different.” - A. Hurst, 2021
  19. Is it just so they can keep growing the calendar?
