It literally seems like eons ago when Gullit was our manager. I don't share his pessimism like, but then I do love a bit of positive thinking.
  2. Still think we should be looking for a specialist RB if there's one available and if we can stretch to it. You wouldn't want to be swapping two positions all the time if a centre-half got injured (S. Taylor moving inside and Simpson coming in, for example). Coloccini and Taylor should be our first-choice central defenders, based on performances last season. Williamson was surprisingly good though.
  3. That home shirt is absolutely rascal. The 2nd and 3rd kits are lovely, though.
  4. He was outstanding for Forest when I saw them during their good run a few times, especially when Shorey was on the other side. Added so much to the team going forward.

In fairness, he doesn't tend to take money out of the club... although that could change, of course.
  6. Not a patch on the first two. Baddiel's improved his singing a bit though. They should have all done it auto-tuned for a laugh, may have seemed more relevant to everything else on the radio.

  8. Stunning observation KD.
  9. No, nobody has, though hypothetically speaking if he was to become available, I'd take him for under 5M. Aye, sorry mate. My back's up from dealing with Harry and Lloyd. I hadn't even considered him coming here to be honest, don't think there's a chance of it. Just interested to see where he ends up from here and if he actually makes a success out of hit because he started brightly enough at Brum and then seemed to fade badly. Must have been a big, big transition though, coming from where he did. I don't think he's what Hughton would fancy or what the club could afford to chance it on either way. Would be surprised to see him staying in England at all.
  10. Nobody's talking about us buying him like, unless I've missed something?
  11. As a goalscorer am with Ronaldo, there was glimpses of quality on the ball at times, the fee though is about 4 times too big Eh? Are we in 1994 like? He's an international striker man (admittedly for Ecuador, but still). leon bests an international striker whats your point Aye, I thought someone would say something similar when I posted that (fucking hell you need to cover your arse on here these days). Benitez is Ecuador's main man (has a decent record at that level), and has quite a reputation about him and has done some pretty good things, Best is bit-part for Ireland at most and has flattered to deceive even to those who have had barely any expectations of him. If you've seen the pair of them play you know there's a gulf in class between them and, as such, Chucho wouldn't go for the sort of money that was suggested by Roger Kint (which Best probably would). Again, I'm not saying Benitez is amazing but if you can't see the difference between him and Best and therefore the difference in their value then I reckon you're the one needing a point sausage. Ronaldo isn't far wrong in calling him a headless chicken, but he definitely has something there that will cause someone to take a gamble of £5m+ on him. If he goes for £1.5m-£2.25m then I'll gladly admit I've got this completely wrong.
  12. He's definitely got something about him, his next move is absolutely massive.
  13. As a goalscorer am with Ronaldo, there was glimpses of quality on the ball at times, the fee though is about 4 times too big Eh? Are we in 1994 like? He's an international striker man (admittedly for Ecuador, but still). He scored 4 goals this season. He suffers from Martins-Dindane syndrome. Physically and athletically sound, but gash finishing. So aye, he's worth between £1.5m and £2.25m depending on what the actual fee proposed to Birmingham was (between £6M and 9M). I understand what he is completely but I just cannot hack people on here and their fucking valuations. He is first choice for Ecuador and has got quite the reputation about him... and he's only 25. Come off it man. I'm not saying he's Pele but that "4 times" was a ridiculous comment. (Almost as ridiculous as my maths in the initial post.)

  15. You should try and find some of pedro's off here. They are loads better.
  16. Cracking final until the goal like, fucking Prince-Boateng man.
  17. Seaman G. Neville Adams Campbell Pearce Beckham Gascoigne Robson Waddle Shearer Rooney Ashley Cole in for Pearce and Lineker in for Big Al were the two that tugged at my heartstrings a bit, went with pro-Toon bias. EDIT: Honourable mention for Platt as well, liked that bloke a lot.

Aye, the problem is the way in which the statement is worded, not in what it actually says (for the most part). Think most have been saying that since it was released like.
  19. Just seen the score from tonight.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Not usually arsed about other teams losing, but that has tickled me. Get in Blackpool.

Is "new capital" different to "working capital"? Is the money that the club will receive naturally through the sources I mentioned (ST sales, merch, TV money) "new" or "working" capital? Quite important to know, for me, as it will better explain the club's position. They are clearly incapable of explaining properly themselves (again).

All this hoo-ha (read all the thread, for some reason) and has anybody asked/explained just exactly what "new capital" actually means? From my understanding (absolutely minimal when it comes to football finances) does it not simply mean he won't be putting any more of his own cash in to buy players? (Seems likely and fairly reasonable to me, although obviously not ideal.) Or, does it mean that absolutely no money already within the club or coming into the club in the immediate future through season ticket sales, merchandise sales and Premier League money (TV) will be spent? Not accounting for this sell-to-buy position that many seem to be assuming. (Seems incredibly unlikely.) Whether it's been worded badly in the statement or some have misunderstood it (or got it bang on) I'm a bit lost if the definition/meaning of the term isn't fully realised.
  23. Barry would be a big miss like. Don't rate him massively myself but it's clear that Capello does. He's been an integral part of the recent successes. I do like Carrick though, so hopefully he can find some form and step in. Definitely not "good news" that the former is potentially out like, that's for sure.
