  1. Great stories!! Changed the thread-title, hopefully there'll be a few more who crossed his path over the years with tales to tell.
  2. Well, that was like watching paint dry. Liverpool are awful to watch these days.
  3. Craig Burley doesn't, the clueless/toothless fadgedrip.
  4. Don't think he has that image anyway, to be honest. You can tell by his face and his expression that he was as hard as nails and as rough as a badgers. Think his respect comes from the lengths he went to following the club for year after year.
  5. Cheers lads. Class. That bloke loved the Toon.
  6. He is an absolute beast. Sproule is one of the fastest players in this division (probably in English football) and Jose went shoulder-to-shoulder with him (after Ivan "I got punched by Gary Johnson" had just come on fresh), kept pace, then completely bossed him and did his usual little turn by the corner flag before bursting clear into an attacking position. Some of the things he does are brilliant. Still looks like Mr. Ed, like.
  7. That post is both disappointing and tremendous at the same time
  8. Feel disgraceful saying it, but he smelled rather ripe on that early morning in the late 90's when I saw him. Imagine he has passed now, but used to love it how Sky would always home-in on him during our live matches and his expression would always be the same, win or lose. Definitely remember seeing him during that fucking 4-3 at Anfield looking more anguished than ever. Anyone know the bloke's name?
  9. ...of the old fella in the flat clap who Sky always singled out during the halcyon days under KK (home and away, if I remember right)? Once saw him at Tynemouth Market (metro station) of a weekend and was in awe. He definitely needs to be an avatar. Have been Googling for a good while but can't find anything.
  10. £50k for home games and £10k for away games at this level. Not a big source of income at all. Our entire TV revenue per game added together wouldn't even pay a weeks worth of player wages!
  11. too many people have favourites and those they like to scapegoat and it often clouds the judgement as to how they are actually doing. You are so, so wise.

    Peter Løvenkrands

His ratio is even better after last night, you'll be glad to know.
  13. Would definitely take him, O'Hara and Boateng from Pompey. Would look at Reo Coker as well. Who is the girl in your avatar? Sorry, I can't contain it any longer. Ke$ha? She is absolutely mint

  15. I'll post this as a Scunthorpe fan, which is difficult to do right now. That was easily our worst performance of the season. Absolutely gutless performance; they just didn't turn up. It was always going to be one way traffic, but they looked like they didn't even care. Missing your best defender (Mirfin) and your best striker (Hooper) doesn't help, but add to that a right back who should be back playing college football in america, and a centre back who wouldn't look out of place in Sunday league football, it was always going to be a big defeat. There was a huge argument after the match between the players. Think they already know they're down, and no there's a rumour Hooper is out for the season. Had a decent night our after the match though, after I'd recovered from my vertigo. Andrew Wright was the best player in light blue last night, in my opinion. Thought he was outstanding considering what he was up against. Had a couple of shaky moments but on the whole was very, very good. One of the very few to play anywhere near the level required. Agree that it was the worst performance of the season though, just didn't turn up at all. Where did the argument happen, by the way? On the pitch?? I missed it if so. I don't think Scunny are down and out just yet either, have a feeling they were holding something back for the games on Saturday/Tuesday. Anything less than four points from those two and I might agree that things are extremely bleak. I thought the lad up front actually had a canny game. Worked his socks off all night. Aye he ran himself into the ground but Hall, in particular, just had him completely under control until the very end.
  16. Gol, sorry added this bit to my original post (too late obviously): "Where did the argument happen, by the way? On the pitch?? I missed it if so. There is enough quality to win a good few games yet and if Hooper/Hayes are back in tandem on Saturday and Mirfin comes back in then the team will improve massively.
