"Rested", been struggling with a bit of an injury.
-
Had a ton on 3 goals+ tonight, after seeing the two line-ups. Paid back £34 on Betfair. Pretty happy with that, stuck it all on 1 goal+ at Scunthorpe tomorrow. Pays back a mighty £13 if it comes off.

I've only seen the lad play about half a dozen times, but he's been fucking gash every single time. Does absolutely nowt.
-
Ah sorry mate, that's what happens when you only start dropping in and out of this place. Completely out of touch.
-
Bassong done alright. Although that's because he has pace and Coloccini is disadvantaged because he isn't as quick, so we can't criticise him on that respect. He certainly did, though there is a lot to be said for the different expectation levels between the two players upon arrival. Colo was never really going to live up to his billing/price-tag, whereas Seb came in for relative peanuts and didn't have any expectations on his shoulders really. Obviously that can't be used as a complete cover up because at the end of the day, where it mattered, Bassong generally performed well and Coloccini generally struggled, but it would definitely have had an effect. You're being very polite about the pace difference between the two like, especially on the turn/over a few yards!

I'll be at the Scunthorpe game at the weekend, and they haven't been involved in a 0-0 all season, so surely that's a safe bet?

It's honestly just Colo's physical attributes moreso than his technical/mental ability that concern me. He's too small, too weak and too slow for the Premiership and I'm not sure his other abilities compensate adequately for those deficiencies. He simply can't be as bad as he was first time around though, given the experience he will have gained since, which does equate to there being some hope for him here. A massive plus for him is his sheer robustness, his fitness record is absolutely tremendous (going back years). Ronaldo's point about the difference in quality of personnel around the particular defenders in question is a great one as well mind, as much as I disagree with his stance on the matter and his view on the two players. Coloccini was given a baptism of fire last season being thrown into such disarray with such dross around him.

Follow my weekend tips Rich, and you could spunk your profit away like never before! I'll keep my eyes open mate. Got to be honest I'm tempted just to start sticking the total on "1 goal or more", as you usually get odds of about 1.15 on Betfair.

What am I missing with Colo? Has he got any stronger, taller or quicker since last season? Not sure if it's just some daft inbuilt bias against the bloke carrying over from his performances last season, although I will readily admit that he has had a couple of storming games this season - as in really outstanding centre-half displays, the likes of which I haven't seen for a good while. Still think he's going to be an absolute liability if we go up next year against stronger, faster, better forwards. Doesn't hold a candle to Woodgate, but again that could be the bias talking because I loved that bloke when he was here. One thing he definitely had over Colo was acceleration/general pace as well, like. Certainly from a recovery perspective.

Circumstance to blame for that more than anything tonight, I'd say, especially second half. First half when they were getting the ball into the front men (well, Becchio, as JB kept losing it) and to Snodgrass in particular they looked miles better.

Another Leeds/Spurs game, another decent haul. Same bet as last game (+3.5 goals) and an £80 win as a result, delighted. Got to love injury time goals when they go your way. Now, let's not try to spunk this away like I did on Charlton (home to Leyton Orient) last time.

Named a very young squad for it as well: Goalkeepers: Ole Soderberg, Max Johnson. Defenders: Matthew Grieve, Darren Lough, Ben Tozer, James Taylor, Dan Leadbitter. Midfielders: Ryan Donaldson, Shane Ferguson, Jonny Godsmark, Liam Henderson, Kazenga LuaLua, Michael McCrudden, Patrick McLaughlin, Ryan Page. Forwards: Dan Taylor, Frank Danquah, Aaron Spear.

Agreed. Would score for fun at this level and could even step up if he got any kind of service. Hopefully it's just a lazy link from the media.

Seen him live on a couple of occasions this season and has looked disinterested and fed up both times. Didn't seem to have any outstanding attributes, but as mentioned he does have a good record this season. Initial reaction was "more of the same" when you compare him to what we already have. Fairly similar level to Harewood I'd predict, will hopefully bag some nice goals but can't see him being too popular. Hope I'm wrong and he is class like, obviously. Can only get better you'd think.
-
Hope to fuck he's fit and somewhere near form come June.

Gudjohnsen had a medical at West Ham tonight, however Spurs are looking to hijack the deal and have been in contact with the player and his father (agent). Benni McCarthy has agreed terms with West Ham, medical in the morning. Benjani subject of interest from Liverpool. Wor David Craig, Sky Sports.

Haha, AC Milan player gives some backchat and the referee gives him a little touch on the face in sympathy. Mental.
