  1. What's wrong with Tavernier, injured? Would be surprised to see him get a look in with the senior defenders we have fit, he's no more of a centre-half than Perch is really. This selection is more what I'd expect to see than what I'd want to see, for the record.
  2. Eh? Butt was never here with Speed man, he was bought to replace him.
  3. I thought we were poor today, still. Although, when you can play like that and still get three points you have to be doing something right. Don't think we ever got out of second gear, Shola didn't get out of neutral... The overall standard and the second half in particular was one of the worst I have seen in a game at this level, I honestly don't recall one to match it since one of the Wigan away games... under Souness? Anything less than a win today, based on just how bad West Ham were, and serious questions would have needed answering. Now we're sitting 9th with two exciting home games on the way... can't complain really.
  4. Held things together in the middle today like, he fucking had to as well despite how bad West Ham were.
  5. Krul R. Taylor S. Taylor Kadar Perch Routledge Guthrie Smith Ferguson Ranger Lovenkrands Xisco, Vuckic and Best given runs at some stage if we can. Also, if the highly ambitious inclusion of Steven Taylor is too soon for him, bring one of Coloccini/Williamson in. Ty and give them a half each, first and foremost. Ideally I'd like to rest all of the outfield starting XI for next week, as the Mackems have a free midweek, but with Campbell injured it's difficult at centre-back unless Hughton fancies Perch in the middle, Ferguson back at LB and one of Vuckic/Xisco coming in. It's obiously not a great team, but I think we'd at least give them a game if you consider what they are likely to field given they have a Sunday game this weekend and a very hectic schedule thereafter.
  6. Needs to do a lot more. Good footballer, good physical attributes, needs to be "braver" and start going for it a bit more (in terms of attacking fullbacks/hitting the byline). He does a lot of decent defensive work for a winger though, and I still have hope for him. With Ben Arfa gone, we're going to need him to do something along the lines of what Jonas did last week and up his output significantly. He should be looking to score about 5-8 goals for us (but probably won't), given that we don't play two strikers and don't have too many goals outside of Nolan/Carroll in the team.
  7. What am I missing with Williamson? Are there people criticising him somewhere (I haven't seen any)? I think he has been generally outstanding this season. I have been amazed by how comfortable he has looked. Of course he's not at all quick and he doesn't appear to be a leader of any description, but he definitely hasn't done anything worthy of losing his place. Desperately unlucky for the Tevez "penalty" as well, obviously.
  8. Sol Bamba was quality today like, beasted Adebayor. Williamson was fantastic though, I felt. No way should either him or Colo be dropped on current form.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

This soured the entire day for me. Fucking awful. Hadn't witnessed one of our own get done that badly before. That utter cunt of a referee didn't help much either like.
  10. Special feature on him on next week's "Barclays Premier League World", for those that are interested and have ESPN.
  11. What about the other way round? http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/DJ/20081226/shola_IanHorrocks.jpg

What tosh is this? http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_b5Kk5nmuA_Q/Rx0IGOt9yzI/AAAAAAAAAcY/auFtSbxKJYU/s320/lines4.jpg ?
  13. Let's not turn this into a Ronaldo thread please folks. He knows we all love him enough as it is.
  14. Looks like being a shocking week for me again. Most of my team is playing away... and not just from the wives (wayhey!!!)
  15. This would be a recurring cost as well, people should remember. It's not a one-off license. It needs renewing every season. (I know PooT popped this in his opening line, but a lot of the discussion seems to disregard the fact.) I would like to be able to discuss fixtures here as well, being perfectly honest, but as others have pointed out any money I have put into the site/will put into the site goes towards the cost of keeping it going. Which absolutely has to be the priority. £250 pays for a good few months of hosting. It's a nice idea like.
  16. I don't mind Hughton playing the second XI in the competition, I expected that team tonight (although I had Kadar in for Coloccini). I think we should continue to do so. It makes the wins even more special for me, and it's keeping fringe players involved at a high level of competition, which is always good, while also keeping our first team as fresh as possible for what is a gruelling league campaign. Is this even the point of the thread? Apologies if not.
  17. I'm looking forward to going to Wembley like, dunno about anyone else.
  18. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! That was fucking class. Should have put it to bed at 3-1 but I'll take the 4-3.
  19. I long for the halcyon days of Shepherd. Get him back. Now. Back your manager Mike.

    Andre Marriner

Difference is the fucking commentator doesn't have an influence on the game man. Marriner had a huge one. How can you be more upset over words? No logic. Because we won in the end. If we didn't it'd be another story. Fairy muff.
