  1. Whatever we said, whatever we did, we didn't mean it, we just want you back for good. (Want you back, want you back, yeah we want you back for goo-ood!) I like the sound of this. "It only takes a minute Kev, to ring that phone, to rinnngg that phhoonne" [/it only takes a minute girl] You've spoiled it now. My thoughts exactly

At least it's not Tottenham TV, as advertised by Martin Jol. Then there'd be real trouble. Ash, your timing is a bit off
  4. Not necessarily. Been pondering those Ashley comments and if you're being really cynical it sounds like he's after a "yes man" rather than a Mourinho. Does a manager in the Keegan mould exist these days? Would managers like Redknapp/Hughes have altered/alter their own philosophies on football and team selection, etc? It's a very funny one. I was speaking purely as a football fan. Watching teams pitch up for a goalless draw is rubbish, whoever the teams are. As always, I just hope for the best, and that the comments aren't meant as you say. Ashley deserves a bit of slack on the first few goes at this IMO. All we can do is hope, really, and support whoever accepts the job. I think it's plain to see that I'm now back in Hull... and that it's Monday tomorrow

Think about it a bit harder, and see if your opinion changes. I was right first time. To say he has "no reason" to lie is utter bollocks, although I do think you're probably right. There are a number of reasons that Redknapp would have to lie, but their not as big as ours are.

    Ridz' Singlish makes me happy.
  10. I have to say, after him advocating Roberto Martinez earlier today I thought he'd lost it, but a lot of that rings true.

Hughes sounds Geordie enough to me at times, I suppose he'll do. He quivered a bit when we were mentioned, mind. The old neck scratching was a bit of a tell-tale sign.

He'll be the next one asked, surely, whether he'll say "yes" or not is another matter. I have a feeling he will. Not sure about it, tbh. Wouldn't mind having a dirty/physical team who play attacking football mind.
  13. Don't usually read many papers outside of The Times, Telegraph and Independent when it comes to football, and the former has been particular good over the past week or so, if you ask me. For all the slatings the press get - most of which are justified - there are some decent journalists out there at the moment who seem to have a finger on the pulse.
  14. There's a bit in the Independent today about pairing Shearer with Dalglish/Keegan sort, as well.

  16. only words though It's only words, but words are all he has, to take our hearts away.
  17. Howay man fellas, SSR is entitled to his opinion. While he sulks at the back of the forum, we can have a naive party. Am I the only one who loves this sort of primal rallying call? Fuck the logic, fuck the worrying, let's just go out there and do it our way.
  18. Shearer? Here's how I feel about Shearer ... I think he would be a good manager but as far as buying players goes I think he would struggle massively. I think Shearer would be the sort to always go after Brits. Shearer would have bought someone like Smith too. Does he really have the knowledge of world football that will allow us to get the best players we possibly could to the club? That would be my biggest worry. That's what scouts are for... that's what all the talk of him being paired with a more experienced head is for. NUFC/Shearer have some massive brains at their disposal when it comes to football, Robson, Keegan, Dalglish, he wouldn't be simply left to sink or swim.
  19. It's in the Times as well, from what I've seen, anywhere else? Daily Star... Allied with Mike Ashley's war cry in the NOTW, I'm starting to think that Shearer is going to be in the mix somewhere.
  20. So he's now apparently paid off all of the debt?! Bloody hell. He's going to get much more hands on?! Bloody hell. All he wants to do is play attacking football and win trophies. Bloody hell. Obviously actions speak louder than words, but the prospect of this combined with Alan Shearer at the helm has me wetting my kecks.
  21. He's saying the right things, he's making his intentions public, let's see what the next few days brings.
  22. I have to laugh at the thread title, Allardyce looked very harshly treated the day after like didn't he? Bruised ego and a few more grey hairs will be the sum parts of this escapade of his, oh, and a massive increase in his bank balance an' all.
