I quite like the how any titbit can be made into a sensational headline... at least they're creative..LOL What's Rossel been up to with the Brazilians... more dodgy deals when you've just got rid of Laporta?
  2. I don't mind a groan or two, but it boils my pish when people start booing and abusing players. Rather they were more positive and gave them a gee up instead! A couple of us had a go at our Football coach a few weeks ago for the same thing as the whole team was getting peed off at his ranting negatively, he's changed a bit and it makes you feel ten times better...

As long as you win "el partido del siglo (again)" then you'll have sufficient bragging rights... Wonder who'll win the final of the C league if you both get there, Spanish press has automatically assumed this to be the case...
  4. Can you all remember a year or so ago when everyone wanted Willo in the team and Taylor as a sub? Just a bad run of form at the moment I think...doesn't look the player he was tho'

I hope that Madrid do win it, I've never liked Pep or Barcelona, the one shining light is Messi, nice honest player and class aswell...shame he plays for that pile of... Madrid will definitely stutter towards the end of the season as they have a far more difficult run in but I reckon they will pip barca by 2-3 points. Hopefully we get into Europe and Play Bilbao again, enjoying them a lot this year, specially after the whopping they handed out to Taggart and his boys
  6. I agree completely with this! One thing I don't like is when him and Willo get abuse on match day, one way to make a player even worse...abuse him...Great!
  7. Tiote needs to start paSsing forward, cabaye needs to stay in position, defnd a little higher and we are the match of this lot. Ba hasn't had a bouncew his way neither ben arfa apart from that sublime left foot... Only one plce where it couldn't be saved. By the way, Colo, my wife is yours... Unreal! (Him, not her!)!

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Very much sharper, those bursts of acceleration! one so fast he lost all possible traction and fell over
  9. Colo can distract him with the fanny pubes he has in his back pocket. I'm glad you mentioned they were "fanny pubes", I'm sure RVP won't be able to resist, and it's interesting that Colo keeps them, a la Hannibal Lector style, in his back pocket after shagging all of our fair maidens...

Can't beleive he pulled off 4 nutmegs at full pace...unreal!!
  11. I don't think a market leader like Sony would even consider us... We aren't exactñly synonymous with their market position; a club that struggles for consistency and sells their most valued assets to anyone prepared to pay the right price. Unless mike changes/tweaks his model a bit (doesn't sell star players) and we regurlarly challenge for top 4 positions I can't see why anyone would pay ten million a year or whatever it is they are asking for for naming rights....

LOL... Yep, it's great being able to argue who merits getting in the side. To sum up: I think Ben arfa doesn't need to move and work as hard (as others)in his attacking side of the game because he is so talented. i think he does need to apply himslef more getting back and covering. For those who like close control players and taking other out of the game here is Ronaldinho at his best... kjhkjhkjh

The other downside is that you need players around you capable of putting the ball into your feet or the side of you furthest from the marker... Do we have those? These perhaps contribute to Pards reasoning as well as the aforementioned not so liberal thinking (footballistic terms)..

Ben Arfa is the type of player who doesn't need to be slap bang in between two midfielders to receive the ball, he moves around as much as the others but only a yard or two from the marking players as that is all he needs. when he receives the ball his touch allows him that time other players would have via their "extra" yards of distance from the defender. It is also easier to trick the defender when he comes at you from close range rather than long range, although you do have the counterside of being disspossed more often if they are good defensively... I honestly don't think his perception of the game is equal to other players as he hasn't ever needed to be so "active" due to his skill set. He does, however, need to do more defensively...
  15. some more cockney fun (chelsea):
  16. WE NEED PROPER WING BACKS TO PLAY THOSE FORMATIONS!!!
  17. If we are going to "let our hair down" in white hart lane then that can only mean one thing: The Barf is unleashed... splattering their goal with projectiles, leaving them with a bitter taste in their mouths!!

    Alan Pardew

His technique allows him to receive the ball when shadowed by a defender, his first touch is something shola (who i do like) could only dream of...

    Alan Pardew

I have an opposing opinion there: He doesn't need those extra two-three yards of space to receive the ball and hence isn't always on the move looking for space, he is always looking for the pass and you can see he's dissapointed a lot when he doesn't receive the ball.

    Danny Guthrie

If I were pards I would have Cabaye and Tiote in the middle for away games (more steel) and for the home games Danny and Tiote for a bit more attacking onus!

    Alan Pardew

It's hard for us to discuss it properly when we don't know how he is implementing it... we can only suppose he does that logical thing and interprets the good stuff and can excuse some of the other stuff perhaps not highlighted so well from it... Fingers crossed anyway! P.S. At the moment he is winning games so can't be too bad

    Danny Guthrie

Remember how he played out on the wing previously? Big no go i think....

A bit odd to name three LB's as examples of better quality right backs, no? It was more to give the feeling of defensive security and players who whilst not outstanding (Cole/Enrique/Bale) would be a huge step up from Danny simpsons constant backing off... He is a decent defender but imagine having another enrique type at Right back, you could fit Ben Arfa on the right wing without any problem and still make him defend but knowing that the risks he takes attacking would be mitigated...
  24. buzza

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Aye, with a better quality right back (think of Ekkoto, Clichy,Evra,Richards) Ben Arfa wouldn't cuase Pards those headaches...

Will the pro-zone stats be match only or training only or for a mixture of the two? I think that is where he is seeing Ben Arfa lacking in effort, he does not seem to do defensive work at full pace, that said he seems to "glide" past players when attacking so I'm not so sure if we could depend on Pro-zone as surely it can't show poise and technique as a tangible factor???
