Also take into consideration that all of smith, foster, xisco haven't even been considered this season it makes it all the more likely. Really a net of 2 extra players and more overall quality...

Back to the thread... I would go for three "proven" signings and three up and comings: Douglas Debuchy Diame Cabral De Jong Ohter striker I reckon we will get rid/they'll leave: Best/Lovens/Simpson (contract)/Guthrie/Ober/Smith (Yippee)/Xisco/Foster Might get 10 million for that lot? Foster/Simps/Best

We lack guile and cunning when we're up against it (slow it down, control ball etc). Like the above we don't seem to be able to adapt quick enough to counter other systems. I would like to see us adapt a system like Athletic Bilbao's this season i.e. High pressing 433, 100% work rate, attack the oppoenent no matter who it is and stick to your guns.

With Bolton beating Villa we may just see some "just desserts" to those midlands mackems at last...lol
-
Just seen a you tube video of Jerson Cabral (Feyenord) and it's amazing how quick he is and some of his skills are ben-arfesque! Good young prospect for the wings...

Chelsea will not win the final, too many important players missing and both Bayern and Madrid seem to be on top form at the moment. Would rather see Madrid through as I think they have more chance of beating Chelsea.
-
Don't agree at all with Kyle Walker, has been very inconsistent this season. Great pace and gets forward a lot but lacks "intelligence" on the pitch. Krul for me...
-
P.S. as somebody mentioned before: a lot of teams will be going through rebuilding processes (Tottenham/Liverpool/Chelsea) and new manager decisions... Only Arsenal and both mancs will probably remain steady...

If we do get in the champions league I can't see Ashley selling any of our players unless it's for a ridiculuos fee, that ego thing will do us, him impressing via his NUFC side. Business sense will also influence given that our mareting revenues should increase as well as telly fees. Even if we only make 5/6th place it's an amazing achievment and I think the boys will deffo want to kick on next year and stay at the club, with the most affectionate fans ever (F*** off williamson and Simps boo boys!!) . I think next year we will almost certainly challenge for the top 4: We have found a formation that suits our players, makes us hard to beat without sacrificing the goals. We should buy a couple of defenders which will add to the need to be able to grind games out. Another couple of aquisitions and we should have enough depth to see the season through reasonably. My major worries would be: replacing Guthrie if he leaves Getting two new right backs if simpson digs his heels (contract) Sale of Tiote; Ben Arfa or Krul

If we reached third I would cry with joy!! Just to beat Harry dogflaps and the perpetual whinger would be enough to make me smile all summer!!! Skips down the stairs...

Woah!!! No way! Fletcher can't pass a ball to save his life, does the covering bit and play break up but loses more possession than accomplishing passes... I liked Jonas on the left wing, thought he offered us an outlet but him in the middle is perfect, he's our player of the season alongside Colo... Man-love declared!

Contrary to most peoples views on here, I do think we will be challenging next year for the champs league places, reason being that we have "stumbled" upon the formation which suits the group of players we have, this 433 or 4231 has been a revelation and our players have adjusted and embraced it completely. I honestly think that with 3 good players signed and a couple of "up and comings" we would be sorted: 3 = Centre Back, Full Back, Striker 2 = Striker, Full back P.S. Don't think our players would leave for Chelsea/Liverpool/Tottenham if we got Champs league. They seem a level headed group. Can only see simpson and guthrie leaving for obvious reasons (Money/Playing time).

You know something? I'm not even worried if he drops out, good as he is, as we have Gutjrie biting at the bit to start who can now cover adequately...what a feeling! P.S. Cabaye = Finesse

That step over from Ben Arfa...WOW, going to try that this weekend and will look a right plonker! I might have to sign for Newcastle as my ball skill are far superior to Mehdi's ...lololo

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PERCH? I haven't read anything saying he's out...
-
no Perch? what has happened?
-
I thought he was our best player yesterday, great passing, composure and very good pressuring, didn't pùt a foot wrong. Shame that he gets injured but Jonas should cover equally as good.
-
Just seen a suggestion for the following team on another board and liked it a lot: -------------Krul------------ Simpson---willo--perch---jonas ---guthrie---tiote---cabaye !enarfa---Cisse------Ba
-
Another slick performance required from BenArfa this Sunday. Enrique is probably one of the best LBs I have seen play for us but I reckon he will meet his match on Sunday. Does Carragher still play for them? If so target his position as he has absolutely no pace whatsoever...
-
The only way to win on Sunday is all out attack a la "keegan"... If we try a more moderated approach I reckon we will get stuffed. My team would be: ---------------Krul--------------- Simpson--Willo--Perchinho----Santon Ben Arfa---Tiote---Cabaye---Jonas ---------Ba---Cisse----------- If Perch plays as well as his form lately we'll be alright! I think Willo is actually coming into a bit of form, he looked good against WBA until the mix up with Krul...
-
We are only 2 FBs & 1 CB from being a very strong team....But still a relatively weak squad!
-
Ben Arfa will be ripping Jose a big fat new Ahole on Sunday afternoon. I don't think there are many defenders who can cope with him on his current form...
-
Re Santon, I thought he was the dog's nads at the start but I really do think he gets caught out of position far too much and flatters to deceive as this attacking full back that a few on here harp on about. He's only young so we can teach him when and when not to take a risk going forward...
-
I really think that we could persuade some of our stars to stay if we got two or three more quality players in early this summer. We are only two full backs and a centre half away from being a very strong team!
