    Roeder's Gone Mad

We should really be looking to bring in another striker regardless of whether we sell martins or not. We aren't going to keep sibs I suppose and only having shola as back up doesn't inspire confidence. Owens, martins, shola and ............. (dyer-emergency back up)

    Roeder's Gone Mad

P.S. did nobody notice my little argument cheat? Ronaldo - crespo? Don't they play on opposing teams? Devious bastard eh?

    Roeder's Gone Mad

Transition period is the term most people in the football world refer to when a foreign player doesn't set the world on fire... The one thing that we can all be certain of is that we do not have any idea how Owen and Oba will play together...until the day they do...

    Roeder's Gone Mad

And it's also no surprise that when he's been utter crap, the rest of the team has. It's obvious they look to him for inspiration! Just shows the respect they have for him...

    Roeder's Gone Mad

i.e. a la Van Buyten (wasn't a striker was he?)

    Roeder's Gone Mad

Okay instead of point scoring lets see what Martins does have going for him: He has bags of skill and bags of pace. He is relatively young so I think that he can only get better, it's also his first season here and he has adapted better than a lot of other foreign strikers have.... As for the partnership with owen: The majority of defences will have to sit deep to cope with the pace. This causes larger spaces between midfield and defence which should make it easier for us to be creative? Owen is an area poacher who can find spaces and is generally in the right positions to recieve balls, oba does seem more random and it's hard to fathom out whether they will click or not. I also think that oba isn't bad in the air and he has great spring off the ground and has scored a couple of goals with his head... I would rather we had a good centre back who came up for corners and freekicks and set plays...

    Roeder's Gone Mad

Why does the "whole world" think that a successful forward strike partnership has to have a "big man" who can head and hold up the ball and a speedy technical small man.....aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ronaldinho - etoo (both aren't good headers of the ball - not bad footy players though!) Rooney-saha (need I say more?) Ronaldo - crespo ................................................................

    Roeder's Gone Mad

Do you only watch the players in the immediate vicinity of the ball? Do robots have tunnel vision? Have you actually seen the team make accurate forward passes for more than say a five- ten minute period in a match?
  9. Tino (for that hatrick and my best night at St James!) Shearer Albert

    Roeder's Gone Mad

Kluivert could hold the ball up well, yes, but he was a lazy bugger and didn't know the meaning of teamwork. Gemmil, depends what you mean by movement, he certainly "moves" a hell of a lot more than Kluivert did the only thing being that most of the time it's renedered useless due to the lack of able players to provide a pass...etc..etc I doubt anyone would pay over 10-12million for him, it would also be a mistake for us to sell him for anything less than the "silly" prices quoted (most in jest I would have thought) for a 20 something year old in his first prem season!!"!!!
  11. ----------------given-------------- Solano----Moore----Taylor-------Duff Milner----Butt-----Emre--------Zoggy -----------Dyer-----Martins------- FFS it's sheffiel not AC Milan!! All out attack for me!!

    Roeder's Gone Mad

The goals scored may be different but you also have to consider the balls chased down, the defenders hassled, the cannels run, going wide to help out and you will note a slight difference in "team play" between the two players mentioned!!

    Roeder's Gone Mad

He's been one of the only bright sparks this season. The last few games have been terrible and apart from high balls being lumped up at him he's not had any decent service and the whole "team" apathy that's stuck at the moment seems to be affecting him... Ridiculous if they sell him(25 million would be OK)!

    I love Newcastle

Freddy Shepperd should have implemented a long term plan a long time ago..... I think Roeder has the right ideas/ideals but is incapable of carrying them out. He also seems to lack the iron needed to stand up to shepperd. Another new manager would throw us back into turmoil or would instill a new confidence within the players?? I really don't know? Obviously Van Gaal or Hiddink would be a huge leap in terms of management credentials and realistically would be too good to turn down... But with the fat pie munching cretin at the helm I doubt that these possibilities will ever materialise!
  15. Aye, I think we should stay clear of spanish / portugese imports. Our past record is pretty woefull!

    Nikola Žigić

Ha ha ha... There are a good few clubs in Spain after him aswell!
  17. We need to buy a decent back line...no expense spared: Distin, Brown, bridge, ben-haim
  18. Cock fest? Liberal sexual tendencies infiltrate the "ultras" - my word!
  19. You're right, Shay doesn't command his six yard box at all, flaps at crosses, can't kick very well and his communication with his defence is lacking. BUT he is second to none at reflex saves and one on ones, which, in turn, are much more impressive than the aformentioned....SO everyone thinks he is the dog's bollox.... Still, there aren't that many who I'd like him to be replaced by... Good post by the way!
  20. I think the best way to see which is more of a priority is by giving a general rating for the players (in their respective positions) in comparison with the rest of the premiership. e.g. Chelsea Cole (9/10) Terry (9/10) Carvalho (8/10) Boulharous (7/10) = 33/40 Drogba (9/10) Kalou (7/10) Shevchenko (7/10) Cole (7/10) = 30/40 ***It's obvious that Mourhinhos priorities lie in bolstering his attack**** NEWCASTLE Carr (5/10) Bramble (5/10) Taylor (7/10) Babayaro (6/10) = 23/40 Owen (8/10) Martins (8/10) Ameobi (6/10) Sibs (6/10) = 28/40 ****Our priorities obviously lie in our defense**** Look at the way chelseas defence and forward line points total compares....
  21. Aye, he does seem to have a penchant for wrong decisions doesn't he? Shifting the blame on to other people/circumstances for those decisions is also something he excells at!!! Pulling the wool over stupid, blind to the truth sycophants of NUFC is something him and his cohort (Alan Oliver) are renowned world experts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i.e. you and me...
  22. I think the only reason real supporters would give up their season tickets would be if the outcome was the resignation of Shepperd and the rest of the board. I would bet my house that if everybody thought this they would hand in their tickets right now...
  23. Fair enough. I like his forward thinking ideas and seem to grasp that he has long term plans that he could implement, just the feeling I get....
