the sad fact of the matter is that if we had a half decent defence who were able to pass the ball out of defence (see: arse, chelsea, mancs...) we wouldn't need a keeper who knows his only half option is to "lump it" :roll:

Central defender (Distin) Left Back (bridge/Baines) Striker (Viduka) *Right back if budget allows and we manage to sell luque* I reckon we could get these three for 10 million and only viduka would be a stop gap, doesn't play badly when he's up for it... Nobby has made the right back position more tenable and the centre of defence needs someone to accompany taylor. If we get shola and owen back next summer we should have enough firepower to manage us through a "normal" season.

Owen is a proven goalscorer in the premiership, if he were able to stay fit for the majority of a season there would be no argument whatsoever.... I would say they are almost the same ability wise with Reina being slightly better in the air and shay being more adept at the reflex saves. Nothing between the two if you ask me but I would still want shay over reina (my opinion only!).

Great game from the little man last night ! I often think emre is far too inconsistent and goes missing too easily in games but with retrospect it may be the partnership that affects him. He does seem to play a lot better with butt, perhaps this is due to more definition to his role in the team .i.e. playmaker and busbody with butt as his protective cover??? blueeek.gif
