Diallo and Casemiro have been passengers for me. Brighton have been well organised defensively. Minteh has had a few options but end decision hasn't been good

Villa are our real rivals I think. They looked really good the other day and when they broight subs on they were still as good. Emery is a top manager, we have to hope that europe tires them...

Pope - Was really dominating and gave confidence and security to our back four. Great to have him back, raises the bar significantly Livramento - Excellent defensively, i don't think he was beaten at all the whole game. Made some good attacking runs but doesn't contribute as much as we are used to with tripps. Schar- really stupid schoolboy error, you just cannot react! Krafty- Really secure and some decent passes, not worried if he has to step in for a couple of games. Burn- very dominant and aggressive, loved him yesterday and loved that he was in their faces with the amount of shithousin they were doing. Hall- had a bad game, too many loose passes and they targetted him as our weak point and it worked for them. Time will tell... Longstaff- 9 out of ten game for him. He is not a creative outlet but he covers ground and does the dirty work really well. Had a great game and was very ordered. When (if) Tonali eventually gets back in he will be superb back up! Joe - Beast. They got beasted all game! What a feckin man to have on your side! Man love!!!! Bruno- Took a while for him to get in the game and made a few slack passes/was caught in possession in 1st half. Redeemed himself completely in 2nd half with a monsta display! Gordon- bit out of sorts but did the hard yards to be fair to him. Has had less preseason than the others... Murphy- not really his fault but he didn't see much of the ball as we didn't have much of it. Defended ok. Decent game tbf. Isak- class but ran out of steam after 60/70 mins. Didn't get much supply either. Subs: Kelly was excellent and really snubbed their attacks down his side. You could see him talking and organising the back line, would have him on at left back from the start next game. Barnes- not a great deal from him, had one chamce and mis-controlled it, on another day he would have perhaps taken it. They played quite well I thought and had the confidence to play out and around our press. They had a game plan to pull shirts, foul at any minute we began to counter and the pri#k Pawson aided and abetted this! Thought we were too soft compared to their niggly/shithousery. We need to get back to being nasty!!

He did actually make a goaline clearance so well done to him. Few mistakes that he will be made aware of no doubt... So all good

I said in the match thread before the game that Pawson was my only negative for the game... He lived up to the hype; AWFUL REFEREE

Yep, bad game for him but first one and he should improve

Only negative was Hall in the second half; he made about four dodgy back passes which could have lead to them equalizing and all of their attacks came down his side as he seemed to have been targetted. When Kelly came on he was much more proactive instead of reactiva and pushed them out quite a bit compared to hall... Not convinced (I know, one game...)

They deffo look a bit strange without a proper striker. Should have been two up by now except for average finishing by the ugly Bruno

Palace are making fools out of us by conducting all of this in public! I am all in for getting another centre back and commenting in public what a feckin A-hole Parish is!!

Don´t like Craig Pawson, only negative going into saturday

I think it would have to be 80+ for me to accept his sale. We would also be losing our best player from last season whoch would weaken us a hell of a lot, especially with the weakness we already have on the other flank...

I disagree, we need to improve the team just like all the clubs around us in the top half of the table are doing. I think It would also send a quite negative message to our current players if we are preaching to them that our aim is to compete at the top... but our tranfers don't show that! We need two signings (RCB & RW) who can slot into the first team and improve us instantly. I honestly dont think it is such a big ask...

It won´t be a travesty if he stays; hard working/pressing and still creates danger and space for others through his relentless running. Yes, it´s obvious there are better creative players out there and that to take another step up as a team we need a new RW sooner rather than later. Also might be that we can´t get a buyer/taker for him due to current wages/age etc etc...

I like Barnes, think he really suits our direct style of attacking football. He gets great crosses into the six yard box, makes really good channel runs taking defenders with him and is also pretty decent at cutting inside and scoring. Not really paid that much attention to his defending but imagine Eddie won´t let him "cruise" through a game... Absolute quality substitute to bring on after 65 mins to rest gordon or joe or whoever is out on left!

Just get some of the wages off our books would be handy; Hayden, fraser, lewis... A couple of "low" fee sales also; Dubs, Miggy, Targett

I thought the problem was that the greedy little barsteward wanted a hefty payoff if we were to terminate his contract, and at the same time save Southampton a transfer fee. Club did not want to be held to ransom by the wee cnut! Don´t know if correct but has been bandied about quite a lot.

It is obvious that the defence needed shoring up after last season and the lack of pace needed to be addressed. Hopefully Guehi or another quick centre back will be brought in. I also would like an upgrade on the right wing, in an attacking sense, as both Miggy and murph contribute a huge amount to pressing and defensive work whilst not being "star" attacking players. Needs to be the right signing as somebody above quoted; has to have the running, pressing etc as well as being more talented attacking wise... not easy to come by tbf...
