I started taking an interest in watching Baseball a year or two ago. I decided last year to pick a team & follow / support them in an armchair, from a distance: I picked the NY Mets. I knew little about them other than they appear to be perennial underachievers whose odds of winning a world series were not short, to say the least. I got talking to an American bloke on holiday a few weeks ago & though his knowledge on English game wasn't great, he argued that I`ve probably inadvertently picked the US baseball version of NUFC. I just don't seem to do winning, in a sporting sense The real question is: Do they try and win things? If so, then I can see why you maintain the faith, if not... then yes, you have been sucked into a vacuum like the one we have at nufc

Is he injured or has he travelled down to London? Would much rather him next to colo...
-
Please don't lose to that charlatan! Couldn't stand to watch his smug dish on MOTD and his smarmy soundbites....aaaarrrrgghhh!!!!!

4-2-3-1 is how we normally set up. If we want to include De Jong then sissoko needs to drop back a touch. defense as per... Abeid and sissoko Cabella De Jong Perez Cisse

Apart from the subs argument which I don't agree with, the whole team played pretty miserably today and getting beat 40/60% possession to stoke tells you a lot about our bal retention skills. For what it's worth: Krul 6= Decent game apart from goal although not sure he could do much about it Janmaat 6= Deefended and attacked well the whole game until the 89th minute... no more need be said Colo 5= Unlucky not to clear goal off line. He gets progressively worse and is way off our expectations of him Williamson 4 = Not sure what dummet has done to be kept out team. Tranits panic every time the ball is close to him Haidara 6= great first half but faded badly in last 15 mins of second Colback 5= The goal got him an extra point. Looked jaded today, would have had abeid on earlier for him Anita 6= Positive in what he does but still too lightweight for this league Sissoko 5 = low mark just because we know what he's capable of and how little he contributed today Cabella 7= still hangs on to ball a little too long at times, impressed by his workrate, HE MUST HAVE BEEN KNACKERED LATER ON THO' Sammy 6= Good first half and is a lot more tactically disciplined now. Faded badly at end of second Perez 8= he's great, but would have got nine if it wasn't for his miss which in my eyes lost us the points Cisse worked well when he came on, obertan did well apart from his panick in the oppostion area and abeid should have been on earlier Carver 6= Correct use of subs to try and get a positive counter attacking set up and to keep their back line a bit further back. Defense still needs to sort itself out against physical opposition, easy goal for them tbh...

Perhaps..... perhaps so many people can't see the 'logic' because it's bollocks? Well backesd up factual reasoning... brilliant!
-
A bit of logic at last instead of the "boohoo he took Remy off" bulshize we have to hear....
-
Jeeezus, obviously nobody has EVER played football before? Take off cabella and put on a speed freak to try and get a counter attack outlet and also to try and keep their wing back a little more defensively minded... Honest, it seems that straight forward to me... can't beleive why people can't see the logic... Oh well!
-
Relatively easy; we were under the cosh and he wanted a fast outlet so that their wing backs would be held further up the pitch. It's both a defensive and offensive substitution at once. Understood why Cabella and not sammy (wrong side unfortunately)
-
Cabella for obertan was OK, would've preffered sammy off but it's the wrong side (not too difficult to understand). Cisse for Anita = very positive and bring back sissoko and let ayoze roam... Can't see what was wrong with the subs, it was the defense that let us down and Ayoze for onece made a mess when he should've put us 2 ahead. You can all take your frustration out on carver if you like, wasn't his subs that lost the lead, he actually went to try and remedy that by putting a more offensive side out...
-
You lot are unreal. Thought the subs were great today. Only moan would have been to get abeid on the pitch earlier to holf up our lead. Nice to see a bit of positive thought going into our subs. He can't win either way can he... (not that I like him much) Give the bloke a chance.
-
Ayoze should have put the game away. We were always looking like we would make a mistake at the back at some point... that cross to crouch though, how come we let him have so much time to put his header on...

Still harbouring a spark for this love...
-
The only slither of hope that we are all clinging to is that Ashley decides to sell us to somebody and moves his interests up north... Still watch the games online but nowadays can switch it off half way through or even go out with the wife if required. Was never the case up until a year or so ago.
-
Anita didn't impress me at all yesterday, JC was superior. Abeid distributes quicker and has more all round game imo.
-
Personally, I would have Pérez instead of Sammy with cisse up top. When abeid and de Jong are fully fit we will have some Competition for places ( obermong and rolands too). With all fit: Krul Janmaat. Colo. Dummet. Haidara Abeid. Sissoko Cabella. De Jong. Ayoze Cisse
-
I thought obermong was quite good those couple of games he played earlier in the season. 50/50 whether he resumes his battle with Gouffran for our biggest sycophant waste of space
-
Charver might have given them some reading homework (cat, mat, rat...etc), he's an enlightened chap! ...ahem.
-
I would go with: -----------------------Krul----------------------- Janmaat -- Dummet------Colo------Haidara ----------abeid------------colback------------ Obermong-------Sissoko------------Cabella -------------------SUPA AYOZE------------ Bench: Fatty, Ameobi, Willo, Riviere, Cisse, Anita
-
what time does game start?
-
Nail on head there, colo and MYM together were just too lightweight. Beggars beleif that willo was supposedly better than him.
-
Quite a moving and sad piece. Seriously Made me wonder what Ashley gets from life, how shallow and egocentric he must be, and my pity for him that his quest for dominance and money overrides his manners, morals and etiquette... What a waste of such a prolific figure.
-
Spot on, his "dallying" and getting robbed of the ball are what wind me up badly. Used to having half a second or so more in france could easily be coached out of him...ahem... by our magnificent technical team... Insanity, I know!
