Is it just me, or is N'Zogbia starting to look a bit more.. beefy? For lack of a better word.
-
That's when he's at his best, really.
-
I'm inclined to believe the latter, really. The sort of crosses you usually get frustrated at are the ones too close to goal, the ones the 'keeper grabs. No numbers to back it up, of course, but I think we've had a fair few at the back post this season - just that noone's ever there to pick them up.
-
The through ball for their goal was magic, really.
-
Said it before, I think him and Taylor are too similar, and I don't think they'll ever make a good centreback pairing. Him or Taylor alongside either one of Faye or Cacapa are likely to be more succesful, as they're both relatively quick and very aggressive. Especially Rozenhal looks good going forward, and his short passes are quite alot better than his long ball in my opinion, or at least more pleasant to look at. I think Rozenhal was decent against brum today, he made some nice interventions, and at least one goalsaving tackle if I remember correctly. Of course, those bits won't be remembered as vividly as the errors our defenders make...
-
And from the look on Barton's face, he knew that. Still no red. Good decision, it could've led to a dangerous situation, and at that point Barton could afford the caution.
-
Can't compare it, in my opinion. I'm just saying anyone saying that's a red needs their head checked. GET IN!!!!
-
Well it's not like he went studs first knee-high into the guy, is it?! Wasn't a dangerous tackle by a long stretch.
-
He wasn't the last defender, and it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity? Clear yellow, but no way that's a red.
-
To be fair, I think Rozenhal has done alright apart from their goal. Him and Taylor are too similar to be paired together tho, in my opinion.

Fair enough, it wasn't mean that way really, just awkward wording on my part. English isn't my primary language The point is, however, that in my opinion it's outrageous to compare Roeder's tenure here to Allardyce's when the latter has only been here for the short amount of time he has. He's tinkering alot, yes. He's chopping and changing alot, yes. But he's brought positives to the squad as well, and it's there for all to see - we have no Brambles or Boumsongs in our defence (yeah yeah, Cacapa.. he's nowhere near as bad - ONE game out of ten he's screwed up, and that is not enough to condemn him on). We're not letting in overly sloppy goals against poor opposition (in my opinion) - bar the two games against Liverpool and Portsmouth, and those are good teams. Every manager makes poor decisions, and I agree that the ones he's made in the games we've lost heavily have been bad ones. But he's not the only one to have failed when trying to change the tactics too much. Remember SBR's 5-3-2? Failed horrendously against much weaker opposition, and he certainly received less stick for it, as far as I can remember. Allardyce is still trying to implement his ideas and tactics to the squad and players, things we've seen worked when he was at Bolton. There's no reason the same thing won't work here, but he has to be given time to do it. I do realise saying this to you is futile, I'm more trying to aim at the bandwagon-jumpers and the ones calling for Allardyce's head. It's far too soon, and it's helping noone.

I do understand, and I disagree with it - I think you're exaggerating a whole lot. What I was pointing out was that the diabolical performances hasn't been a standard this season. At all. The games mentioned were poor, especially the ones vs pompey and pool, but none of those come even close to being as bad as some of our very worst performances of previous seasons. What I'm saying is; things aren't as bad as you guys make it out to be - 'you guys' being the allardyce-out campaign lot. Its been said so many times before, but I don't mind reiterating it: It's been TWELVE fucking games. So what if he had his twelve worst games at the start of the season, it's still not enough to judge him on. Give the man a break, and give the fucking club a break as well.
-
So because we played poorly against two or three sides who, at this moment in time, is miles ahead of us in squad-strength, team spirit and tactics, you stamp 'inept' on his forehead? How can anyone at all expect us to play entertaining football, let alone win, against sides like Liverpool and Portsmouth at this point?

Most sensible post since the turn of the year.

I fear you're right on that account. The amount of muppets jumping on any bandwagon passing by is ludicrous. Basically, it doesn't take more than a handful of halfwit journalists to switch this club onto the wrong track, and half the fanbase will follow. So unbelievably frustrating. About SA, yeah he might not be the genius tactician that so many make him out to be. But he has gotten things right before, and he has shown that he knows how to run a team properly. I don't believe for one second that he's lost the dressing room, he doesn't strike me as that kind of a manager - but as you point out, that might be because he knows how to use the media, making a good impression etc. Fact still remains, top clubs need stability, and I think sacking SA now would be an unwise decision in the long run.

This season: 19-21 GD, 18 pts. Last season: 21-14 GD, 25 pts. Definitely a noticeable difference. However, statistics like that doesn't tell you when the games were played, or injuries, stuff like that. I think this is being blown out of proportion, really. It's not like we haven't had good games this season. And this season, prior to the pompey-game at least, I think our defence has looked rather good. Definitely less cringeworthy than that of previous seasons.

I think it's just that he's trying to make quadrilateral trapezoid holes and pegs, really.

Am I the only one thinking Foy is a spineless cunt?

"taking the piss n. This is the most common term we have in British English to describe making fun of someone, e.g. "Andy fell down the stairs on the way into the pub last night, and everyone spent the entire night taking the piss out of him". Contrary to what one might assume, it doesn't involve a complex system of tubes or a bicycle pump." Carry on the whoosh!
